FROM MICHAEL CUTLER: “A Window on Immigrant Crime; In Jackson Heights, Drugs, Dirty Money and Prostitution”

Hi Gang:

I have often said that “Sleep is over-rated!”
This evening I decided to hunt around the internet to see what I could dig up about news coverage concerning the nexus between illegal immigration and crime
I came up with a brief news article that was published by a newspaper nearly 20 years ago (June 17, 1993) that would not be likely to publish a comparable article today.
The newspaper to which I refer is none other than the New York Times. The article was succinct and on target!
The title of the article says it all: (Click on the title to see the article)
A Window on Immigrant Crime; In Jackson Heights, Drugs, Dirty Money and Prostitution”
What is worth noting about the article is that it makes the very same points I have been hammering ever since I have gone public with my concerns about the many ways that failures to secure America’s borders and enforce its immigration laws leads to a wide variety of crime including crimes of violence, narcotics trafficking and exploitation.
Today Jackson Heights still suffers from the same problems noted in the New York Times article but now the drug trade is predominantly run by Mexican rather than Colombian traffickers and gangs. Furthermore, ever more money are being “exported” from the United States and ever more illegal drugs are now flowing across America’s borders than ever before. In fact, many of the establishments that are involved in wiring money out of the United States are now operating 24/7! Today that money is filling the coffers of the Mexican drug cartels as well as ethnic immigrant street gangs and terrorist organizations.
As I have often noted, America is bleeding green and red! The violence that the beleaguered citizens of Mexico have suffered under continues to increase and it must be expected that the drug-related violence will not only plague Americans who live in close proximity to the US/Mexican border but will become an increasingly serious problem for all Americans irrespective of where in the United States they live! Never forget that any state that has an international airport or a seaport is as much a border state as are those that lie along America’s southern and northern borders! Consequently, the United States has 50 border states.
The beat goes on, but there are far fewer news organizations willing to report on these criminal activities today and it is even rarer to find journalists willing to connect the dots between illegal immigration and these other areas of criminality.
In the film, “A Few Good Men,” Jack Nicholson’s character is remembered for his now famous remark when he sat on the witness stand at a court martial, and snarled, “You can’t handle the truth!” Today most journalists don’t want to provide the truth!
Never forget that the first step in problem solving is to acknowledge that a problem exists in the first place!
Immigration is not a single issue but a singular issue that impacts nearly every challenge and threat confronting the United States today!

If our government’s failures to protect American jobs by securing our nation’s borders and effectively enforcing our immigration laws concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional “Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!
All I ask is that you make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are! If you like this commentary, kindly forward it to as many folks as you can and ask them to do the same- I am attempting to create a “Bucket Brigade of Truth!” We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance. This is neither a Conservative issue, nor is it a Liberal issue- simply stated, this is most certainly an AMERICAN issue! You are either part of the solution or you are a part of the problem! Democracy is not a spectator sport! Lead, follow or get out of the way!
