There are numerous people in Congress who should not be there for a variety of reasons: ignorance, incompetence, uncompromising partisanship, lack of patriotism, a dark heart full of hate, and sheer moonbattery.  Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, for example, is shockingly ignorant of American history, basic economics, and essential science.  Rep. Hank Johnson worried some years ago that the island of Guam might “tip over” because most of the population was on one side of it.  Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, while watching the Mars Rover on Mars, asked where the flag that had been planted on the moon in 1969 was.  It is a long list, and it would be hilarious if such things were not actually spoken by people elected to represent their portion of America’s citizens.  We all know that politicians lie.  They lie about what they are going to do and what they have or have not done.  “False face must hide what the false heart doth know.”  Macbeth again.

Interesting details are emerging regarding special counsel Robert Mueller in the wake of his collusion investigation that was intended to find coordination between the Trump administration and the Russian government to sway the 2016 US election.

A lawsuit seeking disclosure of FBI files that may detail a U.S.-based support network for the 9/11 hijackers linked to Sarasota and Venice has reached a federal appeals court, which is being asked by a Florida online publication to order a Freedom of Information Act trial on the dispute.

The case centers around reporting published by the Broward Bulldog on the FBI’s investigation into a Saudi family that abruptly left its home in a gated Sarasota community two weeks before the 2001 terror attacks. One FBI document written in 2002 that was disclosed in court said agents had found “many connections” between the family and some of the hijackers who took flying lessons at the Venice Airport, including ringleader Mohamed Atta.

The case was fraught with political consequences. Democrats and civil rights advocates claimed the query would discourage responses to the decennial questionnaire from new immigrants and minorities and affect the balance of power nationwide.

LABOUR MPs burst into a chorus of its socialist “Red Flag” anthem in the House of Commons last night, in scenes never before seen in Parliament.

Angry at the prorogation of Parliament, Labour MPs chanted and jeered their Conservative colleagues as they took part in the traditional suspension ceremony. After shouting ‘shame on you’ to those in the prorogation procession, Labour MPs refused to leave the Commons chamber and started singing the 19th century socialist song. The Marxist anthem, largely abandoned by the Labour Party in the 1990s, has been given a resurgence under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn.

The timing of the song, sung in the middle of one of Britain’s biggest political crisis’ to engulf the country since the civil war caused outrage.

Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell, fuelled the huge backlash after sharing a video of the chorus on social media.

He wrote: “The closing down of Parliament by Johnson & the Tories provoked anger in the Commons but also in the final moments of this Parliamentary session a defiant burst of singing of the ‘Red Flag’ by Labour MPs.

“We will never let this extreme right wing Tory sect silence our democracy.”

Tory MP Vicky Ford furiously attacked Labour MPs for their actions.

The Chelmsford MP said: “Trying to get my head around witnessing the sight of Labour MPs singing the red flag in the chamber of the House of Commons at 1.30 in the morning … after refusing to vote for a General Election … Goodness!”

Her comments were echoed by furious voters who branded the move by Labour “disgusting”.

Diseases are reemerging in some parts of America, including Los Angeles County, that we haven’t commonly seen since the Middle Ages. One of those is typhus, a disease carried by fleas that feed on rats, which in turn feed on the garbage and sewage that is prominent in people-packed “typhus zones.” Although typhus can be treated with antibiotics, the challenge is to identify and treat the disease in resistant, hard-to-access populations, such as the homeless or the extremely poor in developing countries.

I also believe that homeless areas are at risk for the reemergence of another deadly ancient disease — leprosy, also known as Hansen’s disease. Leprosy involves a mycobacteria (tuberculosis is another mycobacteria) that is very difficult to transmit and very easy to treat with a cocktail of three antibiotics.

Yet according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there are more than 200,000 new cases of leprosy reported in the world every year, with two-thirds of them in India, home to one-third of the world’s poor. The poor are disproportionately affected by this disease because close quarters, poor sanitation, and lack of prompt diagnosis or treatment easily can convert a disease that should be rare to one that is more common.
