Since Joe Biden put her in charge of the border, Kamala Harris has been ducking reporters’ questions. If she ever gets around to it, here are some possible queries for the California Democrat: 

Madame Vice President, in your view, what is the purpose of the U.S. border?

Are you aware of any countries that maintain a border policy like the one the Harris-Biden Administration is implementing?

In 2014, then-Vice President Joe Biden said the foreign nationals coming to the United States in caravans were “already Americans.” As the current vice president of the United States, is that also your view?

When Central American parents send minor children to the border in the company of smugglers, does that in any way constitute child abuse?

Are you opposed to human trafficking?

Are you in favor of admitting any foreign national to the United States without screening for COVID-19 or any other disease? 

Are you in favor of admitting any foreign national with a criminal record to the United States?

The media is touting Biden’s pick of Robert Santos as historic because he would be the first “census director of color”. Emphasizing the race or ethnicity of Biden’s nominees has become the media’s usual tactic for obscuring their radicalism while accusing their critics of racism.

As a third-generation American whose grandparents came to this country over a century ago, whose parents raised him not to speak Spanish, Santos is hardly an oppressed minority.

During the census, the media repeatedly trotted Santos out to warn that minorities would be undercounted and that the citizenship question would suppress minority participation.

“If the administration tries to take out undocumented folks, that’s going to lead to lot of litigation,” Santos warned.

“There is no question that in my mind that the citizenship question would deter participation by some parts of the public,” he told NPR.

And for a nominee to head the Census Bureau, Santos has a curious specialty: illegal aliens.

The Urban Institute, where he serves as Vice President, stated that his, “specialty areas include undocumented immigrants and other disadvantaged populations”. Santos’ first publication was for a partnership between the Urban Institute and the National Council of La Raza.

We thought it was a breakthrough of sorts when President Joe Biden finally threw in the towel and admitted he had created a “crisis” on the nation’s border. Alas, just one day later, the White House issued a “clarification.” He was really just talking about Central America, not the border. So it’s now official: Biden is the worst president for protecting our border ever.

We don’t take that charge lightly. But how else can you describe a man who takes a problem that was for all intents and purposes fixed and, within the space of a mere three months, turns it back into a catastrophe? It’s sheer border policy incompetence.

White House spokesperson Jen Psaki, who executes a high-speed 180-degree spin-turn better than anyone outside of NASCAR, said, “the president does not feel that children coming to our border . . . is a crisis“.

Just Saturday, Biden said this: “The problem was that the refugee part was working on the crisis that ended up on the border with young people.”

Sure sounds like he called it a “crisis.” On Monday, Psaki corrected a member of the media who used “crisis,” calling it instead “Challenges on the border.”

Cute semantics, but It’s a form of gaslighting the American public. By pretending an awful crisis that exists and demands attention isn’t really one at all is a kind of misfeasance.

White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci on Thursday conceded in a tense exchange with Louisiana Republican Rep. Steve Scalise that the Biden administration is violating major Centers for Disease Control and Prevention coronavirus guidelines by packing countless illegal immigrants into relatively small facilities without enforcing social distancing or masking measures. 

The CDC has aggressively pushed those guidelines over the past year, directing that Americans should work to remain six feet apart from each other in public spaces and wear face coverings when away from the home. 

Images from U.S. border facilities over the past several weeks, however, have shown little enforcement of those guidelines among illegal immigrants detained amid the current surge of unlawful migration at the southern border.

At a House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis hearing on Thursday, Scalise —the House minority whip and the ranking member of the subcommittee — grilled both Fauci and CDC Director Rochelle Walensky on the Biden administration’s COVID enforcement among illegal immigrants. 

Holding up pictures of densely packed immigration facilities, Scalise asked Fauci: “Dr. Fauci, does this look like social distancing to you that you require when you talk about six feet?”

“No,” Fauci replied. 

Holding up more photos of packed facilities, Scalise asked further: “You can see all of these young children who are next to each other six inches apart, many without masks — by the way, does that follow your guidance that you’ve issued?”

“No,” Fauci replied again.

The Biden administration announced on Friday that the president will sign an emergency presidential determination to hold the number of refugee admissions at 15,000 — the same number that Trump admitted his final year in office.

But after an outcry from radicals, Biden did an about-face and indicated he would actually increase refugee admissions this year.

“The president’s directive today has been the subject of some confusion,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in an afternoon statement.

No, no confusion at all. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said to Biden “jump” and Biden asked, “how high?”

Biden had promised on the campaign trail to raise the number of refugees. Activists were hoping that up to 125,000 refugees would be allowed this year. With the pandemic and the surge at the border overextending immigration resources, Biden’s initial goal of allowing 62,500 people into the U.S. wasn’t going to be realized.

More than 20,000 children, mostly from Central America, are currently being held in facilities operated by Health and Human Services (HHS) at a taxpayer cost of at least $60 million per week.

Most of the children crossed the border illegally within the last two months.

In March, almost 19,000 unaccompanied minors—a record number—were apprehended by Border Patrol, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The number doubled from February when 9,400 were apprehended, whereas the preceding three months hovered around 5,000 per month.

Border Patrol is required to transfer custody of unaccompanied minors to HHS within 72 hours. However, the sheer numbers have become overwhelming and children are staying in crowded CBP holding facilities for sometimes more than a week.

HHS started releasing data on the number of unaccompanied minors it was holding on March 23—which was 11,551.

Since then, HHS has opened several emergency holding centers, including converted convention centers in Dallas, San Antonio, and San Diego, military bases in border states, and structures in interior states such as Pennsylvania and Michigan.

The Biden administration is increasingly desperate in the face of the migration crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border that Biden’s progressive open-door policies have created. Illegal unaccompanied minors are flooding into this country, overwhelming available government resources to shelter and care for them. The Biden administration is already reportedly spending more than $60 million a week to house these minors now in federally run shelters. Many more are illegally crossing the border every day and are being added to the thousands allowed to remain in the United States.

What “creative” solutions has the Biden administration come up with to deal with this surge, aside from scrambling to increase shelter capacity beyond the hovels the kids are already being crammed into? One idea is to offer extended paid leave to government employees, who are likely to have no relevant training and experience, to step in and take care of some minors. Another idea is to offer cash payments to Central Americans to keep them home rather than emigrate to the United States. Offering what amounts to bribes for Central Americans to stay put instead of attempting to reach the United States is likely to backfire.

The New York Times reported last week that employees in federal government agencies like the Department of Homeland Security and NASA had received e-mails asking them whether they would be willing to take four-month paid leaves from their jobs “to help care for migrant children in government-run shelters.” Nearly three thousand federal employees answered the call as of April 9th, leaving behind the duties they were actually hired to perform.

As for the cash transfers to Central Americans to keep them at home, Roberta Jacobson, the outgoing White House southern border coordinator, told Reuters recently that such payments were an option under review by the Biden administration to address “the economic reasons people may be migrating.” It has apparently not occurred to the Biden administration “geniuses” that desperate people will do desperate things. The smugglers will be the winners as many of the cash payment recipients use their windfalls to pay for being smuggled into the United States. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy expressed what many Americans must be thinking when he said, “It’s insulting to the millions of Americans who are out of work or facing despair in our country.”

The Biden surge is real and spectacular despite the vocal insistence of the Democrat media and lefties like AOC that it’s a racist GOP myth.

The CPB press releases, under the Biden administration, are trying to spin the facts, but the facts are still there. I’m just snipping away all the spin about “food insecurity” and the “pandemic”, none of which explains why there was a massive surge under Biden.

In March 2021, CBP encountered more than 172,000 persons attempting entry along the Southwest border. This total represented a 71 percent increase over February 2021…. This fiscal year CBP has already had over 569,800 encounters.  This represents an increase of 24 percent from the total encounters we had during all of Fiscal Year 2020

CBP has recently seen a return to encounters of large groups, especially in the Rio Grande Valley region. These groups of 100 or more individuals had dropped dramatically

As RNC Research director Zach Parkinson noted, that’s the highest single month total since 2001.

This is a major crisis. And the cause of this invasion is sitting in the White House. As long as Democrats continue to pander to illegal aliens, the surge will continue.
