Revenge Racism attacking the soul of America

Francis Bacon “A man that studieth revenge, keeps his own wounds green, which otherwise would heal, and do well.”

Today, we are witnessing what I call Revenge Racism promoted by leaders of  Black Lives Matter, Critical Race Theory and Left Wing Ideologues. As declared by Angela Harris  in her foreword to “Critical Race Theory: An Introduction”:

Unlike traditional civil rights discourse, which stresses incrementalism and step-by-step progress, critical race theory questions the very foundations of the liberal order, including equality theory, legal reasoning, Enlightenment rationalism, and neutral principles of constitutional law.

It is a full frontal attack on western morals, values and ethics that teach all people are born with equal intrinsic value: that we are defined by our character, not characteristics, also known as identity politics.

Today, sadly, we are  witnessing white hatred being promoted as an antidote to “systemic racism” despite the fact that we know racism can lead to physical as well as mental illness that lasts generations because we have witnessed it in the black community.

This is Revenge Racism.

People seek revenge when they feel they have been attacked and suffered some unjust loss or injury or are humiliated, especially if they are made to feel powerless, foolish, ridiculous, stupid, or ashamed.  Revenge is part of honour shame cultures around the world where one feels the need to “defend the honor” of themselves, their family, ancestors, or some other group with which they identify. It is essential to claim the mantel of victim before seeking revenge. And that is the position of CRT, BLM and Progressive Left ideology. The Judeo/Christian ethic moved the world beyond honour/shame, yet here we are, devolving.

Many of us are familiar with the Golden Rule; “Do unto others what you would have them do unto you.” But the original version was penned by Rabbi Hillel who wrote; “Do not do to others what is hateful to you.” But that is exactly what is taking place in America, today.

Your children, of every race and colour, are being exposed to child abuse. For far too long, black people were looked upon as “lesser than.” They were judged by colour, not competence. Today, despite the fact that we know the immorality and the illegality of racism, we are being dragged back into another race war based on revenge. Today, children are being taught that to be white is to be evil. That is Revenge Racism and that comes from a place of hate. And racism and hate harm children – of all races and colors. I thought we had learned that, already.

Imagine a young girl about 8 years old who loved school. She has blond wavy hair that frames her oval face and has beautiful hazel eyes. She would be described as Caucasian: she has white skin. She couldn’t wait to get up in the morning, get all dressed have breakfast and run for the school bus. When she came home she couldn’t wait to share her day with her mom.

On this day she came home from school very upset.

“Mommy, why am I white? We learned today that white people are bad, oppressors and colonizers. We harm people of colour. And you and dad and Grandma and Grandpa and Nana and Papa, did horrible things to black people. I’m so ashamed of being white.”

She had learned in school that “white privilege is being able to navigate daily life in the American culture without having to think about race,” and she was asked “What does it mean for you to be white?” and told to “Take a moment to talk with your neighbor about ‘Whiteness.’”  The teacher said “Name some characteristics of white culture.” But worst of all she was told “that being white is a bad thing.”

And she ran to her room.

She came down late the next day.

She had painted her face brown.

Leaders in the Black Community are well aware of the effects of racism  on  mental and physical health. There are those who state in the Black community the impact of centuries of unaddressed trauma still manifests today; it may have been inherited. Myrna Lashley, an assistant professor in the department of psychology at McGill University in Montreal wrote: “Intergenerational trauma is trauma that is passed down. The pain and the angst and the hurt and the fear and…. the sense of inferiority that has been imposed on you.”

The pain of racism is caused not only by one’s lived experiences, but the experiences of one’s ancestors. These feelings are felt not only on an individual level, but overall on a cultural level.  Basically, being Black in America means living with chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which include a feeling of a foreshortened future, exaggerated startle responses, difficulty falling or staying asleep, outbursts of anger, and hypervigilance. These are signs of mental illness.

Dr. Joy DeGruy,  a clinical psychologist with a doctorate in social work research and author of the book “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome: America’s Legacy of Enduring Injury & Healing,” writes about how “… being Black in America impact(s) your stress level, therefore your body’s ability to operate its own immune system.

With all this lived experience why are organizations like BLM and those who espouse Critical Race Theory promoting white hatred? Why are we teaching white children to be ashamed of being white? Why are our children being taught that to be white is to be evil? Won’t these teachings cause the same damage to white people as black people and in the end, our society itself?

This is Revenge Racism.

Did we learn nothing from the Nazi Party’s obsession with race which focused on their perverted belief in the inferiority and superiority of the races? This opened the door for blaming various racial groups for all the problems facing the country.   The American left are claiming the root cause of virtually all problems facing the nation is “systemic racism” as theoretically instigated by one particular race.

This obsession with race led to what is now often referred to as “identity politics.”  Identity politics was a weapon in the arsenal of the Nazi Party.  Using the national media the Nazis divided the populace into specific identity groups and then promulgated grievance-riddled policies aimed at these manufactured factions in order to foment anger at a specific identity group previously isolated by the party: the Jews. It appears, today, the media is aiding and abetting the Left in attacking people of no colour.

Remarkable isn’t it; the ease through which we descend into hate.

The 2015 meta-analysis Trusted Source found that racism is twice as likely to affect mental health than physical health.  Depression, stress, emotional distress, anxiety post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) suicidal thoughts

The AAP, the American Academy of Pediatrics, also say that even if children do not directly experience racism themselves, they can be just as significantly affected by witnessing racism as those who experience it firsthand.

Racism is a threat to our children,” said Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, a clinical psychologist for children and adolescents and the first Surgeon General of California. Racism – treating others negatively because of their skin colour or physical appearance – causes psychological trauma and toxic stress. This chronic activation of stress hormones leads to inflammation in the body and predisposes individuals to physical and mental health problems. Children who are exposed to demeaning experiences including in school, may internalize the negative images and start believing they are how others sees them – dumb or bad or “less than.”

Claire McCarthy, MD, Senior Faculty Editor, Harvard Health Publishing wrote: “Racism hurts children, in real and fundamental ways. It hurts not just their health, but their chances for a good, successful life.” Despite our biological sameness, people continue to look for differences — and claim superiority.

Internalized negative stereotypes related to race can unconsciously erode self-perception and capacity and lead to chronic stress for children. Chronic stress leads to actual changes in hormones that cause inflammation in the body, a marker of chronic disease.

Children may also experience personally mediated racism early in their schooling, which may be internalized and ultimately affect their interactions with others. Early teacher-child interactions are important for long-term academic outcomes. The relationship of teacher to student across ages and grade levels influences school adjustment, literacy, math skills, grade point average, and scholastic aptitude test scores.  When a teacher doesn’t believe in you, you are less likely to believe in yourself.

These are facts about racism. Yet, with all this information about racism, Joe Biden is pushing Critical Race Theory in US schools.  An attack on people of no colour. It would give priority for US history and civics grants to programs “that incorporate racially, ethnically, culturally and linguistically diverse perspectives” and specifically praises both Critical Race Theory, The New York Times’ factually challenged “1619 Project” and Ibram X. Kendi who promotes a new meaning to antiracism. “Anti-racists assume that the American system of politics, economics, and policing has been corrupted by racial prejudice, that such prejudice explains the entire difference in socioeconomic status between blacks and others, that the status quo must be fought and beaten, and that anyone not actively engaged in this system-changing work is a collaborator with racism, and therefore himself a legitimate target for attack.” Kendi writes from the victim’s perspective.

In other words, the Biden administration is promoting Revenge Racism.

The Proposed Priorities-American History and Civics Education states:

“In turn, racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically responsive teaching and learning practices contribute to what has been called an “identity-safe” learning environment. According to the authors Dorothy Steele and Becki Cohn-Vargas, “Identity safe classrooms are those in which teachers strive to assure students that their social identities are an asset rather than a barrier to success in the classroom. And, through strong positive relationships and opportunities to learn, they feel they are welcomed, supported, and valued as members of the learning community.”

Identity safe? White children are being attacked for being white; taught that they are privileged oppressors, but the school is an identity safe space?

This attack on people of no colour is no different than the attacks on people of color over the centuries. The same people who call themselves victims are victimizing non-colored people. This is a direct attack on the soul of America.

This is Revenge Racism.

That is a constant throughout history. We desire, said Shakespeare, “this man’s gift and that man’s scope.” Aeschylus said, “It is in the character of very few men to honour without envy a friend who has prospered.”[1] Goethe warned that although “hatred is active, and envy passive dislike; there is but one step from envy to hate.”
