The Three Biggest Lies Of The Trump Era J. Frank Bullitt

https://issuesinsights.com/2019/07/18/the

Lying has always been a part of politics. But what we’re seeing today is extreme. Politicians’ falsehoods, eagerly parroted by celebrities, are aided by a media that, rather than acting as an impartial referee, has become an agency for Democrats and the political left. Here are the top three whoppers since President Trump took office that those sick with Trump Derangement Syndrome just won’t let go of.

Trump’s Supporters Are Racist

“Trump is, without question, a racist,” a senior writer at The Root named Michael Harriot, who identifies himself on his Twitter account as a “master race-baiter,” wrote recently in that publication. “And so are his supporters. Not some of them. All of them.” (Emphasis added by Harriot.)

On Sunday, the day President Trump posted his “go back home” tweet aimed at The Squad, Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, one of the president’s targets, tweeted “Trump is a racist. If you still support him, so are you.”

A couple of months ago, a cable news exchange between CNN anchor John Berman and activist Michaela Angela Davis went this way:

Davis: I think it’s important we don’t make Trump seem this untouchable thing … that no one gets to be Trump but Trump. Tens of millions of people voted for him after he showed his cards for years.

Berman: But are you suggesting that they’re racist …

Davis: Absolutely yes. Yes.

Berman: All the people that voted for Donald Trump are racist?

Davis: Yes.

These charges are untrue on their face. If they were true, there would be nearly 63 million (Trump’s 2016 vote total) racists in this country. Or maybe more. Roughly 46% of the voters marked their ballots for Trump. If that share of voters represents the portion of Americans who support Trump, there are more than 150 million racists in the U.S. If either of these reflected reality, we would be in a race war. The same would be true if only 10% of Trump voters were racist. The violence would be daily and widespread. The Klan would ride again.

Yet, as many have pointed out, racism and racists have become marginalized in this country, almost to the point of nonexistence. Racism is so rare that people are faking hate crimes to support the narrative.

The New Yorker Is Trying to Silence Me by Alan M. Dershowitz

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/14556/alan-dershowitz-new-yorker-david-remnick

I recently learned, from a source close to The New Yorker magazine, that its editor, David Remnick, has commissioned a hit piece against me for the explicit purpose of silencing my defense of President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and the State of Israel. Remnick despises Trump and Netanyahu, and is well known for his strong anti-Israel bias. Remnick explicitly told people that I must be silenced because mine has been the most persuasive voice in favor of what Remnick feels pose dangers to values he holds dear, and that he will use the credibility of The New Yorker to accomplish this goal.

The New Yorker used to be a great literary magazine. I read it for its short stories, profiles of literary figures, film and drama reviews, humorous vignettes, and clever cartoons. But since David Remnick took over as editor, left wing politics have trumped non-partisan literature. Profiles have become personal attacks on Remnick’s political enemies and hagiographies of his political friends.

Among Remnick’s most persistent enemies are Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump. Ad hominem attacks on the Israeli Prime Minister include mocking his name (“Netanyahoo”) and calling him a “mendacious mouse.” Remnick consistently singles out Israel for condemnation, while ignoring real violations of human rights.

An op-ed in the Jerusalem Post observed that “under Remnick’s reign, The New Yorker, and particularly Remnick himself, repeatedly and obsessively focuses on what Remnick perceives to be the failings of the state of Israel,” accusing it of “medievalism,” “apartheid” and “xenophobia.” Its one-sided views have been “posted prominently on the website of “Intifada – The Voice of Palestine.”

Powerful Lessons from History: Adams on Strength, Rand on Fifth Columnists by Lawrence Kadish

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/14555/history-lessons-john-adams-ayn-rand

• John Adams, the nation’s second President, understood that studying history, and specifically conflict between nations, would give us the means of avoiding the next battle, conflict between nations and of protecting our shared future.
• “… I must study Politicks and War that my sons may have liberty to study Mathematicks and Philosophy. My sons ought to study Mathematicks and Philosophy, Geography, natural History, Naval Architecture, navigation, Commerce and Agriculture, in order to give their Children a right to study Painting, Poetry, Musick, Architecture, Statuary, Tapestry and Porcelaine.” – Letter by President John Adams to Abigail Adams, May 12, 1780.
• The reality is we remain at war — with those who brought down the Twin Towers and attacked the Pentagon, who apparently consider a diverse, interdenominational nation an outrage that must be erased from the globe.
President John Adams has something to say to students this fall but it is unlikely he will be given the chance.
Across the United States, this summer will be used by educators to convene conferences on curriculum, classroom content and study guides to present to students in September. Likely absent from most of their agendas will be a comprehensive study of the most seminal event in the last century — World War II — which continues to define the world we live in, our geopolitical borders, our society, the role of technology and America’s leadership role around the globe.
Social studies teachers will be the first to admit despair. In many school districts, a single 45-minute period is all that is offered in the course of an entire class year for the study of this global conflict, Gloria Sesso, chairperson of the Long Island, N.Y. Committee for the Social Studies, told Gatestone.
Forty-five minutes would not even begin to cover how the Nazis took a bigoted beer hall boast and made it into mass murder on an industrial scale, much less understand the origins and consequences of World War II. (A recent survey revealed that 22% of millennials had never heard of the Holocaust.)

The War Over America’s Past Is Really About Its Future By Victor Davis Hanson

https://amgreatness.com/2019/07/17/the-war-over

The summer season has ripped off the thin scab that covered an American wound, revealing a festering disagreement about the nature and origins of the United States.

The San Francisco Board of Education recently voted to paint over, and thus destroy, a 1,600-square-foot mural of George Washington’s life in San Francisco’s George Washington High School.

Victor Arnautoff, a communist Russian-American artist and Stanford University art professor, had painted “Life of Washington” in 1936, commissioned by the New Deal’s Works Progress Administration. A community task force appointed by the school district had recommended that the board address student and parent objections to the 83-year-old mural, which some viewed as racist for its depiction of black slaves and Native Americans.

Nike pitchman and former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick recently objected to the company’s release of a special Fourth of July sneaker emblazoned with a 13-star Betsy Ross flag. The terrified Nike immediately pulled the shoe off the market.

The New York Times opinion team issued a Fourth of July video about “the myth of America as the greatest nation on earth.” The Times’ journalists conceded that the United States is “just OK.”

During a recent speech to students at a Minnesota high school, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) offered a scathing appraisal of her adopted country, which she depicted as a disappointment whose racism and inequality did not meet her expectations as an idealistic refugee. Omar’s family had fled worn-torn Somalia and spent four-years in a Kenyan refugee camp before reaching Minnesota, where Omar received a subsidized education and ended up a congresswoman.

Feds Bust 22 MS-13 Gang Members California Democrats silent over murders, mutilations by savage criminal illegals. Lloyd Billingsley

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/274339/feds-bust-22-ms-13-gang-members-lloyd-billingsley

“The victim was dismembered, and his body parts were thrown into a canyon after one of the defendants allegedly cut the heart out of the victim’s body.”

That is from a July 16 statement from the U.S. Attorney in Central California, announcing charges against “22 people linked to the MS-13 transnational gang, most of whom allegedly participated in a series of murders, including several slayings in which victims were hacked to death with machetes in the Angeles National Forest.”

U.S. Attorney spokesman Thom Mrozek told reporters that 19 of the 22 gang members were illegally present in the United States. Four of the killings took place in Angeles National Forest and the gang members used machetes, bats and knives on the victims. As U.S. officials explained, new MS-13 members are required to murder a rival or enemy of the group. In one case, a member of a rival gang who defaced MS-13 graffiti had his heart cut out of his chest.

The charges against the 22 MS-13 members prompted no statement from California governor Gavin Newsom, whose first trip as governor outside the state was to El Salvador. As he said, the trip was to “counter Trump,” who often speaks out against illegal immigration in general and MS-13 in particular. State attorney general Xavier Becerra, once on Hillary Clinton’s short list as a running mate, was also silent after the MS-13 bust, hardly the only such action in recent times.

In Mendota, according to a Fresno Bee story by Yesenia Amaro, “MS-13 carved out a reign of terror resulting in at least 14 brutal murders in and around Mendota from 2015 to 2017.”

Squad’ Member Ayanna Pressley Explains Why She Refuses to Call Donald Trump President By John Ellis

https://pjmedia.com/trending/congresswoman-ayanna-pressley-explains-why-she-refuses-to-call-donald-trump-president/

Although lesser known that her three colleagues, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) is counted among “The Squad,” one of the four congresswomen that President Trump suggested should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.” During an interview on CBS This Morning, Pressley responded to Trump’s attacks, explaining to Gayle King why she refers to the president as the “occupant” of the White House instead of by his official title.

The congresswoman huffily told King that President Trump “is only occupying the space. He does not embody the principles, the responsibility, the grace, the integrity of a true president… I’m not dishonoring the office. He does every day.”

Rep. Pressley wasn’t alone in the interview, being joined by the other three members of “The Squad” — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn). Tlaib felt the need to insert into the conversation that President Trump is “the biggest bully” she’s ever encountered.

Pressley’s comments to CBS This Morning were a doubling down on the statement she made during the congresswomen’s joint press conference on Tuesday. Riling up the sympathetic crowd, she said that she will only refer to Donald Trump as the occupant of the White House and not the president. She added, “We are grateful for your solidarity, your encouragement, and your support, in the face of the most recent xenophobic, bigoted remarks from the occupant of our White House.”

Democrats, of course, are laying aside their differences at the moment as they rally around Pressley and her better-known colleagues. From Nancy Pelosi condemning Trump from the House floor to the myriad of articles in the MSM calling anyone even remotely associated with Donald Trump a racist, the left appears more galvanized than usual. However, what matters come November 2020 is how the voters respond.

EPIC FAIL: Anderson Cooper Tries to Convince Texas Women That Trump Is a Racist By Megan Fox

https://pjmedia.com/trending/epic-fail-anderson-cooper-tries-to-convince-texas-women-that-trump-is-a-racist/

In yet another CNN attempt to make people from south of D.C. look stupid and racist, Anderson Cooper and his crew gathered up eight Republican women from Texas and tried to harass them into agreeing that the president said a racist thing by telling AOC and her cronies to leave America if they don’t like it.

It went hilariously sideways. I especially like the part where the CNN “reporter” asks the leading question, “don’t you think that’s racist?” in a condescending and outraged tone.

Note to CNN: This crap doesn’t work anymore. Everyone was bored and now they’re getting angry. You can see it in their faces. Everyone knows that the Trump tweet the media is so desperate to condemn in every corner of America is equal to a bumper sticker slogan that has existed forever. No one is shocked by Trump repeating the same joke we tell about celebrities who promise to leave the country every time a Republican is elected. There’s nothing racist about pointing out the obvious. If America is that bad and immoral and worthy of constant scorn then GET THE HELL OUT.

They all should go, American or not, to whatever socialist hell hole they can find where they’ll be happier. It’s really out of love we suggest this. They’re so miserable! We want nothing but their happiness and some peace and quiet. Luckily for them, the wall doesn’t stop anyone from leaving. CONTINUE AT SITE
