JACK ENGELHARD: KIDNAPPING CRISIS- BEGGING WON’T WORK

It has been tried before, so has Entebbe.

Once again we see Jews as helpless victims, arms extended for protection, mercy and assistance. This only brings back painful memories.

How to deal with people who have no heart? Begging never helps.

Jimmy Carter pleaded with Iran to release the hostages, but nothing worked until the moment Ronald Reagan took office.

Of Reagan they were afraid. He was the cowboy. He was the tough guy.

Tough guys don’t dance with terrorists and tough guys don’t plead with terrorists.

Terrorists laugh at us when they see us going to them on bended knee.

They are still laughing at Michelle Obama weeks after she implored Boko Haram to Bring Back Our Girls. The kidnapped Nigerian girls are still missing.

Our three kids are still missing – Naftali Frankel, 16, Gilad Shaar, 16, Eyal Yifrach, 19, and may they be back home safely as this is being written. There is something special about this. We all have sons who resemble them – and just to gaze at their happy faces breaks your heart.

But the people who took them will not respond to our supplications.
They will respond if we go after them with rage and with fury. Kingpin David knew what had to be done. From Psalm 59: “Destroy them in wrath, destroy them until they are no more.”
David knew what had to be done. From Psalm 59: “Destroy them in wrath, destroy them until they are no more.”

So the IDF is cleaning out their caves, their dungeons, their hideaways. Weapons are being confiscated and so are hundreds of Hamas operators.

In fact terrorists who had been released are being rounded up and arrested again – as if we didn’t know that this would have to be done all over again!

We told you so.

So the manhunt continues…as do our prayers. Most of Israel is at prayer and so are many of us in America.

But Arab Member of Knesset Haneen Zoabi is not praying and if she is it is for the other side.

Perhaps she should have been deported to Gaza to live among her own. Wouldn’t that have been a lesson to those who tamper with our kids?

So Israelis are outraged. But are they outraged enough?

Aside from the great IDF (and we don’t know all they are doing), where is muscular Israel? Tears won’t bring them home. Where are the marches that “we will not take this anymore?”

Where is the spirit of Entebbe?

Instead Israel applies itself to the tender mercies of its enslavers. Israel goes around the world begging world leaders to “help us, pretty please.”

Jews in Israel and Jews around the world are holding peaceful rallies and silent vigils as if that will rouse sympathy for the three teenagers.

This never worked before and it will never work again.

Hamas must love this! Hamas and the rest of that lovely crowd live for nothing else. The more we wring our hands in grief the longer they will resist.

They will stop resisting when it dawns on them that an entire nation, strong, united and of good courage has taken enough of their grief.
