MY SAY: THE SIX DAY WAR June 5, 1967

The Six-Day War broke out on June 5, 1967 and changed the map of the region and the pride of Jews throughout the world. The late Ida Nudel the famous and heroic “refusenik” who defied the KGB thugs once told me that Israel’s victory inspired her and others to accelerate their fight against Soviet oppression of its Jewish population. In America, it opened a floodgate of support and admiration as thousands of American Jews entered academic and business institutions formerly restricted to them.

After repeated provocations and terrorism from all the surrounding Arab nations, with blood curdling Jihadist threats from the entire Arab/Moslem world, Nasser announced “The hour has come in which we will destroy the Jewish State.”

Arab troops surrounded Israel, the straights of Tiran were closed to Israeli shipping crucial for commerce and movement of goods and oil. When Jordan allied itself with Egypt, Nasser announced: “The armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon are poised on the borders of Israel…to face the challenge, while standing behind us are the armies of Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan and the whole Arab nation. This act will astound the world. Today they will know that the Arabs are arranged for battle, the critical hour has arrived. ” To match arms to their threats the Arabs amassed 465,000 troops, more than 2,800 tanks, and 800 aircraft ringed Israel.

The rest is history:In a surprise move, Israeli Air Force destroyed 400 Egyptian planes, drove Syria from the Golan Heights and captured all of Jerusalem, Gaza, the Sinai Peninsula and Judea and Samaria.

Twenty three years and virtually to the day of the Normany Invasion of 1944 which was the beginning of the end of a war which killed one of every three Jews in world, the Jewish nation struck back against superior and well armed enemies and prevailed. Wow!

GEORGE PATTON’S SPEECH ON JUNE 5,1944 (PROFANITY INCLUDED)

General Patton:

Men, this stuff that some sources sling around about America wanting out of this war, not wanting to fight, is a crock of bullshit.

Americans love to fight, traditionally. All real Americans love the sting and clash of battle.

You are here today for three reasons. First, because you are here to defend your homes and your loved ones. Second, you are here for your own self respect, because you would not want to be anywhere else.

Third, you are here because you are real men and all real men like to fight.

When you, here, everyone of you, were kids, you all admired the champion marble player, the fastest runner, the toughest boxer, the big league ball players, and the All-American football players. Americans love a winner. Americans will not tolerate a loser. Americans despise cowards.

Americans play to win all of the time. I wouldn’t give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That’s why Americans have never lost nor will ever lose a war; for the very idea of losing is hateful to an American.

You are not all going to die. Only two percent of you right here today would die in a major battle. Death must not be feared. Death, in time, comes to all men. Yes, every man is scared in his first battle. If he says he’s not, he’s a liar. Some men are cowards but they fight the same as the brave men or they get the hell slammed out of them watching men fight who are just as scared as they are.

The real hero is the man who fights even though he is scared.

MAGGIE KENNON’S INTERVIEW OF DEANIE PARRISH- WORLD WAR II VETERAN WASP ****

http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/wwii-female-pilot-tells-exhilarating-secret-stories-of-wartime-exploits?f=puball

On February 29th, I interviewed Deanie Parrish. I learned of Deanie and her WWII history by researching the women of WWII. I was amazed by what I learned and what she shared with me. Come listen to our conversation…

During World War II, women stepped up into the jobs once held by men. They became mechanics, steel workers, plumbers and, for Deanie Parrish and 1,101 other women, pilots for the U.S. military. The Women Airforce Service Pilots, known as the WASP, helped train male pilots for combat, ferried aircraft, military personnel and cargo around the country, and allowed more men to serve overseas.

But Deanie never talked much about her adventures in the air; it wasn’t until 1993 that she began to share the stories of her service. Now Deanie and her daughter are recording interviews with surviving WASP. Of the more than 1,102 women who volunteered and flew every type fighter, bomber, transport, cargo, and trainer aircraft in the Army Air Force inventory 68 years ago, only about 200 are still alive.

MAGGIE: Thank you for allowing me to speak with you. My mom and sister are also listening in on the speaker phone. We are honored that we can share in learning about your time as a WASP.

DEANIE: Thank you. I did get your questions ahead of time. We can go through them if you like. Why don’t you begin.

MAGGIE: Do you remember the moment that you realized you were going to enter the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP)

DEANIE: No, I don’t remember the exact moment that I realized I was going to enter the WASP. What I do remember is the letter that was sent to me from Jackie Cochran who was the second most famous woman pilot. (After Amelia Earhart) Jackie sent me a letter stating I was accepted if I could pass the tests.

DR. YALE KRAMER: THE NAVY’S HEROIC ROLE IN NORMANDY

It is not widely recognized that the U.S. Navy played a vital part in the struggle to avert catastrophe on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944.

Of course the Navy had been assigned many important missions besides the 47-minute pre-invasion bombardment that day: getting the tanks and artillery to the beach early to give the first assault waves plenty of cover; clearing paths through the minefields so the landing crafts could get through; getting the infantry to their assigned beaches at the right times; providing beach masters to control beach traffic;providing signalmen to direct fire from the battleships and cruisers a mile out in the anchorage; as well as countless other tasks only experienced seamen can do well.

Unfortunately, the navy had no better luck in accomplishing these goals on Omaha Beach than the Army Air Forces and the Army had in accomplishing their planned operations. But in the end the Navy came through just as the Army did that morning on Omaha. And they did so not by carrying out orders from the top, but by the initiative and courage of individual skippers and their men at the critical moment.

The situation was this. By mid-morning small groups of soldiers had begun making headway up the cliffs and had succeeded in taking out some strategic gun-emplacements. Slowly, at various points along the beach, the movement forward had begun. But there were still many places where the men were hopelessly pinned down and demoralized by heavy machine-gun and mortar fire. No artillery had reached the beach, few tanks had arrived in working order and there were no working radios to help direct fire from the larger ships. It was at this time that the skippers of several destroyers-“tin cans”-seeing the catastrophic predicament of the men on the beach, decided to seize the moment.

The first to do this was Lt. Commander Ralph Ramey, the captain of the USS McCook. He sailed into the western sector-the section that had been assigned to the inexperienced 29th Division and that had been hit very hard in the first landings-to within several hundred yards of the beach and began firing with his five-inch guns at whatever he could see. His salvos were effective in destroying dug-in cliff positions, two artillery positions, and some pill-boxes. When other destroyer captains saw this they joined the McCook, guiding themselves by fathometer to within inches of becoming grounded-sitting ducks-and thus exposing their ships and men to heavy, directed artillery fire from behind the beach. Even from four or five hundred yards it was still difficult to spot well-camouflaged gun emplacements but determined gunners found ways to do so. Another destroyer that played an important role at this time was the USS Frankford. Its gunnery officer, Lt. Owen Keeler, writes: “A tank sitting at the water’s edge with a broken track fired at something on the hill. We immediately followed up with a five-inch salvo. The tank gunner flipped open his hatch, looked around at us, waved, dropped back in the tank, and fired at another target. For the next few minutes he was our fire-control party.”

A Jailed Marine and a Silent Radical-in-Chief — on The Glazov Gang

This week’s Glazov Gang, guest-hosted by superstar Josh Brewster, was joined by Titans Karen Siegemund, Founder of Rage Against the Media, Bill Whittle from BillWhittle.com and TruthRevolt.org, and Mell Flynn, President of Hollywood Congress of Republicans.

The Gang gathered to discuss “A Jailed Marine and a Silent Commander-in-Chief,” analyzing why Obama hasn’t made a statement that Andrew Tahmooressi could be his son.

The Titans also focused on “Cruz’ing the Tea Party/Republican Divide,” “The VA Hospital Scandal and Double Standards,” “Ted Cruz Rising,” “The Growing American Police State?” and much, much more.

ANDREW HARROD: PROFESSORS SHILL FOR ISLAMISM

Only ten people, including two imams and a reporter, showed up to hear University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, professor of religious studies Carl W. Ernst deliver the “First Annual Ibrahim Abu-Rabi Lecture” on May 7 at the International Council for Middle East Studies (ICMES) in the Georgetown section of Washington, D.C. Ernst was introduced by ICMES founder and president Norton Mezvinsky, who came to ICMES after a 42-year career teaching Middle East history at Connecticut State University.

A self-professed “anti-Zionist,” Mezvinsky endorsed the infamous 1975 Zionism-is-racism U.N. resolution and developed amiable relations with the deranged anti-Semitic Lyndon LaRouche movement and once spoke at the LaRouchite Schiller Institute in Germany. He also co-authored Jewish Fundamentalism in Israel with the late Israel Shahak, whose work, MEF Fellow Asaf Romirowsky wrote, “rests on his conviction that Judaism is the font of all evil and that most global issues can ultimately be traced back to Judaism via a world-wide Jewish conspiracy.”

In dedicating its inaugural lecture series to the memory of former ICMES director Ibrahim Abu-Rabi, ICMES signals its support of his radical ideology. Mezvinsky tearfully recalled his late “very good friend” and “distinguished scholar,” about whose book on the Muslim Brotherhood’s Sayyid Qutb Daniel Pipes wrote, “author and subject meld into a nearly seamless whole” so that, for Qutb and likeminded individuals, Abu-Rabi was “their apostle to an English-speaking audience.”

Appreciatively hearing Mezvinsky were Imams Mohammad Magid and Johari Abdul-Malik. The Sudanese-born Magid heads two groups with disturbing Islamist connections, the Muslim Brotherhood-founded, terrorism unindicted co-conspirator Islamic Society of North America and the All Dulles Area Muslim Society mosque in northern Virginia. The American convert Abdul-Malik, meanwhile, who called Magid “my teacher” at a press conference the day after the ICMES lecture, is outreach director at northern Virginia’s Dar al-Hijrah mosque, known for many years of attracting violent individuals, some personally defended by Abdul-Malik.

Ernst used PowerPoint to illustrate a chapter on Islamic ethics from his 2004 book, Following Muhammad: Rethinking Islam in the Contemporary World. Hackneyed accusations of “modern Islamophobia” with a “connection to racism & anti-Semitism” in an aggressive, post-Cold War Western society seeking “another opponent to take the place of the Soviet Union” introduced Ernst’s comments. “Islamophobia,” Ernst elaborated, “draws upon a well-established attack” upon Catholics previously called disloyal to a secular state.

Over 1,000 Days in Iranian Prison for U.S. Marine By Majid Rafizadeh

Dr. Majid Rafizadeh, an Iranian-American political scientist and scholar, is president of the International American Council and he serves on the board of Harvard International Review at Harvard University.

A US citizen’s first ever visit to see his aging grandparents and relatives quickly turned into his arrest and death sentence by the Islamic court of Iran. 31-year-old Amir Mirzae Hekmati, who was 28 at the time of the trip, had traveled to Iran to celebrate with his extended family in Tehran.

Before reaching Tehran, Hekmati called his mother Behnaz Hekmati, to tell her about his excitement about the trip, saying he would call her back when he got settled. But his mother never received another call. According to his mother, Amir’s computer, cell phone, and all of his IDs were taken away. That is when the excruciating ordeal for the Hekmati family began.

The irony is that Amir was born and raised in the United States, and he had no connection to the Islamic Republic other than being born to parents who left Iran for the U.S. in 1979— at the time when the Islamist state was created after the Islamic Revolution.

Amir’s father Ali, a professor of microbiology, was recently diagnosed with brain cancer, and the Hekmati family is imploring the Islamic Republic to release their son so he can see his ill father. His mother Behnaz pleaded with the Iranian government, “Please just let Amir come home… Amir didn’t commit any crime, he didn’t do anything. Just let him to come home and make his family happy again.”

His first trial did not go involve proper due process. It was neither a transparent nor fair trial. It was conducted in complete judicial secrecy, with Hektami convicted and sentenced to death for spying.

Hektami joined the US Marines, to serve this country and to offset the cost of college for his parents, according to his sister Sarah. Amir served as a translator and linguist. Sarah told America Tonight “[Anmir] never wanted to impose anything on my family… He loved traveling and he loved learning languages, and he felt like this was a good opportunity to experience that.”

Amir was coerced into false confession. He was taken into the most notorious prison in the Islamic Republic, Evin. Although he was kept in Evin for several months, the Islamic Guard denied that he was being held there. Even the United Nations and Pakistani Embassy, which has an Iranian Interests Section in Washington, DC, could not get a clear answer.

DAVID HORNIK: HAMAS GAINS GROUND AND WASHINGTON APPROVES

Buzzfeed reports that during the six-month run-up to this week’s announcement of a Fatah-Hamas unity government, Obama-administration officials were holding “secret back-channel talks with Hamas” to discuss its role in this government.

Buzzfeed quotes a “U.S. official familiar with the talks” as saying: “Our administration needed to hear from them that this unity government would move toward democratic elections, and toward a more peaceful resolution with the entire region.”

State Department deputy spokesman Marie Harf told Buzzfeed: “These assertions are completely untrue. There is no such back channel. Our position on Hamas has not changed.”

In any case, very soon after the new Palestinian government was announced on Monday, Secretary of State John Kerry told Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu that the administration would “work with the new Palestinian government while continuing to watch it closely.”

Israel expressed “deep disappointment.” Its ambassador to the U.S., Ron Dermer, noted that Hamas is “a terrorist organization responsible for the murder of many hundreds of Israelis, which has fired thousands of rockets at Israeli cities, and which remains committed to Israel’s destruction.” Netanyahu recorded a statement saying he was “deeply troubled” by the U.S. decision.

In a letter to Kerry, Republican senators Marco Rubio and Mark Kirk noted that: “Current U.S. law is clear—any government over which an unreformed Hamas exercises undue influence and which emerges from a Fatah/Hamas deal is not an appropriate recipient of U.S. assistance.”

For a few reasons—despite the State Department’s denial—the Buzzfeed report of secret U.S.-Hamas talks has considerable plausibility.

First, there is the alacrity with which Kerry announced the U.S. intention to “work with” the new government. Not even a day or two for deliberations before reaching a decision.

CAROLINE GLICK: ENDING THE ABBAS WINNING STREAK

Mahmoud Abbas must be great at cards.

The PLO chief has no real assets to speak of.

He’s physically unattractive. He has zero charisma. He’s old.

And no matter how hard he tries, Abbas can’t do much of anything to dampen public support for Hamas or raise public support for himself. By many accounts, if elections are ever held, Hamas would win them in a walk.

As for money, beyond the PLO’s slush fund, all Abbas has is what outsiders give him. He is completely dependent on the Americans, the Israelis, the Europeans and the Gulf states. Without them, he would have nothing to buy people’s loyalty with.

If the money ever stops coming in, he’ll go broke and lose power immediately.

Militarily, if Israel ever stops lending military support to Abbas’s forces, it will be a matter of weeks, or perhaps days, before Abbas will be forced to surrender to Hamas.

And yet today Abbas is sitting pretty on the top of the volcano that is Arab politics, dictating terms for people with real power while playing mind-boggling radical politics.

And he’s winning big.

This has been a great year for Abbas. In exchange for agreeing to humor the Obama administration with “negotiations” consisting of rejecting pro-Palestinian American peace proposals while refusing face-to-face contact with Israel for nine months, he got the Americans to force Israel to release several dozen terrorist murderers from prison.

He then abandoned the negotiations and effectively ended the peace process when he signed onto 15 international agreements as “the president of Palestine,” seeking to gain international recognition for a Palestinian state that is in a de facto state of war with Israel.

From there he went on secure his own power at the helm of Palestinian politics by signing the unity deal with Hamas.

It’s a win-win deal for Abbas and the genocidal jihadist group.

ARNOLD AHLERT: TALIBAN RISING

While Obama administration officials and their media allies are furiously attempting to spin the swap of U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl for five high-level Taliban terrorists in their favor, the other side of the equation is weighing in as well. Taliban leaders are expressing jubilation over the trade, hailing it as a major recognition of their status and boon to their cause. The Taliban is seeking to solidify legitimacy as a political force in Afghanistan in the face of the imminent U.S. drawdown, after which less than 10,000 soldiers will remain in the country. With the Bergdahl exchange, the Taliban has achieved a major propaganda victory that will further aid its ascendancy in the country — on top of the benefit the return of several of its top operatives will offer as a consequence of the deal.

Details of the internal assessment of the Bergdahl swap come from a TIME magazine interview with two Taliban commanders. “This is a historic moment for us. Today our enemy for the first time officially recognized our status,” one commander said. “[T]hese five men are more important than millions of dollars to us.” When asked if this exchange would inspire the Taliban to capture other Americans, he responded succinctly. “Definitely,” he said. “It’s better to kidnap one person like Bergdahl than kidnapping hundreds of useless people,” the commander added, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. “It has encouraged our people. Now everybody will work hard to capture such an important bird.”

According to the magazine, the Taliban was well-prepared to engage in a media campaign of their own with regard to the swap. Those who were selected to hand Bergdahl over rehearsed messages they wished to deliver to the American public, and a videographer was assigned to cover the exchange to help shape the narrative. The white tunic and trousers that Bergdahl wore were also part of the equation, as a tailor was commissioned to create the clothes for the event as a “gesture of respect.”

TIME allowed a second Taliban commander affiliated with the Haqqani network that was holding Bergdahl captive to humanize the terrorist organization. “You know we are also human beings and have hearts in our bodies,” the commander said. “We are fighting a war against each other, in which [the Americans] kill us and we kill them. But we did whatever we could to make [Bergdahl] happy.”
