PRESIDENT OBAMA’S OUTRAGEOUS SPEECH ON GLOBAL WARMING

FROM THE COMMITTEE FOR A CONSTRUCTIVE TOMORROW- C-FACT

TO DONATE: http://www.cfact.org/about/

Did you hear about President Obama’s rude and outrageous graduation speech this past weekend at the University of California, Irvine?

While most people expect commencement addresses to be upbeat and inspiring, Obama used the special day to treat the proud graduates and their families to a toxic dose of global warming indoctrination.

Unbelievably, he urged the students to close their minds – to become like PC robots and not entertain any skepticism of alarmist claims.

He even ridiculed those who would dare question his global warming orthodoxy as believing the moon is made of “cheese.”

Obama’s attention to climate is politically shrewd. After all, what better way to shift attention from the President’s myriad controversies and failures at home and abroad (Iraq, Obamacare, etc.) then to try and build a legacy based on the slippery notion of “climate change?”

But this shameless sort of propagandizing cannot be allowed to stand — particularly when its aim is to indoctrinate the young.

The real lesson President Obama taught on Saturday was just how dangerously out of touch with reality his administration is and how solidly he is captive to the ideological Left.

Point by point, the President’s climate screed fails to hold up. Consider:

Obama: The “warmest years on record have all happened since you graduates were born.”
Fact: Contrary to computer models, scientific data show no warming since before most of the grads hit kindergarten.

Obama: “We know what we see with our own eyes.”
Facts: There is nothing unusual about today’s weather. In fact, the U.S. is experiencing a particularly calm period for serious storms. Hurricanes, for instance, are down 25% since 1900. The President, like Senator Boxer who said she could see global warming out her window, should get his eyes checked.

Obama: “Out west, firefighters brave longer, harsher wildfire seasons”
Facts: Neither droughts, nor wildfires have increased in recent years. Every year between 1962 and 1982 there were at least 100,000 wildfires in the U.S. Not a single year has had as many since. 2013 had the least. The worst fire recorded occurred in Wisconsin … in 1871.

Obama: “I don’t remember anybody saying the moon wasn’t there, or that it was made of cheese.” [Ridiculing skeptics]
Facts: The presence of the moon and the physics enabling space flight are verifiable. Global warming claims are not. That’s why it’s NOT surprising a number of veterans of America’s Apollo space program disagree with the President on warming and have signed letters to NASA saying so.

Please help CFACT get these important facts to college students through our Collegians campus program by making your most generous contribution right now.

You should know the President went on becoming ruder and more condescending.

Obama actually used the outrageous, loaded term “denier.” Did tens of thousands of those gathered truly need to hear themselves and others compared to “holocaust deniers” on their graduation day? This is unseemly rhetoric for any president. How’s that for hate speech?

This shameless sort of propagandizing cannot be allowed to stand — particularly when its aim is to indoctrinate the young.

As you can imagine, college students are under enormous pressure to be “politically correct” – especially on the issue of climate change. Fortunately CFACT is uniquely positioned to take down this junk science and challenge the status quo.

On colleges around the country, CFACT is the only organization solely dedicated to combating radical Greens, climate alarmism and eco-indoctrination and standing up for sound science, student rights and economic freedom.

In recent years, CFACT’s Collegians have sponsored speaking tours by Ann Coulter, Jonah Goldberg, Dr. Willie Soon, and John Stossel, among others.

When Al Gore showed up to propagandize not long ago, CFACT organized counter-demonstrations to greet him with hard facts.

And our Collegians also sponsor workshops, run petition drives, and show movies that challenge campus PC climate orthodoxy – films like “Not Evil Just Wrong” and “The Great Global Warming Swindle.”

CFACT’s Collegians can be found on campuses from coast to coast – but we need to start many more chapters to adequately fight the kind of nonsense being fed to students by their professors and even the President.
