STELLA PAUL: OBAMACARE IS READY FOR YOU ****

http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/07/obamacare_is_shovel-ready_for_you.html

“If Obama’s Communist mentor thinks it’s fine to knock off 94 million people for the greater good, do you really think Obama cares how long you have to wait for your prostate exam? This whole business is giving me nightmares. The other night I woke up screaming. I dreamed that Janet Napolitano was pinning me down and flossing my teeth. You want my prescription for good health? In November, vote with your heart — and lungs and kidneys. In the meantime, eat berries.”

I’ve been gobbling berries like crazy ever since June 28, when Chief Justice John Roberts gifted us ObamaCare. I figure I’d better fortify my body with antioxidants before they drop all 2,000 pages of Obama’s “law” on my head. But every time I read what’s coming, I feel sick.

It seems that over in Merrie Olde England, the National Health Service is simultaneously imploding into some kind of fiscal Death Star and terrifying the populace. If you obsessively read the British papers (I do), you’ll know that just last Saturday they informed us that NHS let a 22-year-old hospital patient die of thirst; forgot about a young woman they’d left in a back room on a trolley, who was screaming with pain and bereft of food or water; and let an 18-year-old girl die of infection when the nurses neglected to give her the prescribed antibiotics. This is one day’s news!

What gets me is that NHS is the biggest business in England, employing 1.7 million people. Can’t they find someone to empty a bedpan? Apparently not.

The other day, my heart broke when I read that “thousands of dementia sufferers are being abandoned” by NHS — but then the next day, I read about the Liverpool Care Pathway and realized that anybody too addled to know what’s going on may be lucky.

A top British doctor just accused NHS of killing 130,000 elderly patients a year with this Liverpool Care Pathway business. Sure, it sounds like you’re being gently ushered into a Beatles concert, but actually, you’re being forcibly starved to death within 33 hours. According to the good doctor, NHS reserves this treatment for patients that the hospital staff finds “difficult to manage” and/or taking up necessary bed space. Hey, if you talk to half my girlfriends, that sounds like their husbands. Should that warrant a death sentence?

You can be sure that Obama and his family will never suffer any of these indignities; he just wants them reserved for you. So he’s tossing out the best medical system in this or probably any other universe and ordering us all on a 2,000-page Death March to NHS-styled agonies. His life is valuable; it’s just yours that’s cheap.

But why does Obama consider your life worth less than a few golf balls he can thwack on Martha’s Vineyard? If you want my opinion, you’ll find a big clue in three little words: Frank Marshall Davis.

Davis was the unspeakably weird man that Obama’s grandparents selected to be his mentor. (His grandparents were pretty weird, too.) Davis was a fanatic, hardcore Communist, and if you don’t believe me, Dr. Paul Kengor’s new book, The Communist, documents that Davis’s Communist Party USA card number was 47544. So does Joel Gilbert’s new documentary, Dreams From My Real Father, which highlights plenty more of Davis’s Communist carousing.

Now let’s get back to why Obama thinks your life is worth about as much as some forgotten discount item on the back rack at Walmart. Consider those Communist regimes that Frank Marshall Davis was so crazy about. What are Communist regimes good at? (Other than producing 6-foot-tall women built like Tom Brady who can win gold medals at the Olympics.)

Do Communists invent cool stuff like the MacBook Pro and Smartphones? Do they entertain the world with Harry Potter books and Seinfeld episodes? Do they cure cancer, improve heart stents, or create the miracle anti-depressants we’re all going to need after Obama finishes “fundamentally transforming” us?

Uh, no. What Communists are really good at is killing their own people. In fact, they’re champions! According to The Black Book of Communism, the definitive academic work on this depressing topic (it’s published by Harvard!), Communist regimes have slaughtered 94 million (and counting) of their own comrades.

Shovel-ready Communists managed to execute more people than any political movement in history, including Nazism, according to Black Book‘s editor, Stephane Courtois. (Sure, the Reds got an F in Humanity and in Economics, but don’t scoff at their A+ in Murderous Work Ethic.)

Their impressive scorecard includes 65 million victims in the People’s Republic of China, at least 20 million in the Soviet Union (Well, Boris deserved it. He made a joke about Stalin.), 2 million in Cambodia, 2 million in North Korea, 1 million in the Soviet bloc states of Eastern Europe, 1 million in Viet Nam, and who knows how many in Cuba.

As Stalin said, “[t]he death of one man is a tragedy; the death of millions is a statistic.” And speaking of statistics, here are some numbers comparing medical care in Britain under NHS and in the good old USA:

% of people surviving a cancer 5 years after diagnosis: 65% in U.S., 46% in England

-% of patients diagnosed with diabetes who receive treatment within six months: 93% in U.S., 15% in England

-number of MRI scanners per million people: 71 in U.S., 14 in England

Remember when Obama promised that ObamaCare would bend the cost curve down? He really meant that it would bend your life expectancy down.

And if still you don’t believe me, answer this simple question. If Obama’s Communist mentor thinks it’s fine to knock off 94 million people for the greater good, do you really think Obama cares how long you have to wait for your prostate exam? This whole business is giving me nightmares. The other night I woke up screaming. I dreamed that Janet Napolitano was pinning me down and flossing my teeth.

You want my prescription for good health? In November, vote with your heart — and lungs and kidneys. In the meantime, eat berries.
