“Germany’s federal security council, which Ms Merkel presides over in person, was said to have secretly waived through the supply of anti-tank rocket launchers to Israel after first postponing the idea.The German manufacturers, Dynamit Nobel Defence, advertise the weapons as being ideal for use over short distances or for firing from inside buildings. “They would be perfect for use against Hamas in the Gaza strip,” Der Spiegel wrote.The security council decided against taking any decision about an Israeli request for anti-tank rocket launchers in June this year because of German Foreign Ministry concerns that they might be used for house-to-house fighting in areas of civilian unrest. However, on Monday their export was agreed because Israel was perceived to be under serious threat from Hamas, Der Spiegel said.Like all her post-Second World War predecessors, Chancellor Merkel has insisted that for Germany the security of the state of Israel is “not negotiable”. Earlier this year the German government was reported to have supplied Israel with submarines capable of being equipped with nuclear warheads.”

Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government is reported to be considering a request from Saudi Arabia for the supply of several hundred German-made “Boxer” armoured patrol vehicles which are purpose built to help the military combat rebel forces and could be used to crush popular dissent.In a report on the proposed arms deal which was leaked to Der Spiegel magazine, it was said that the request was discussed last week at a secret session of Germany’s federal security council which had previously given the go ahead for the controversial supply of anti-tank rocket launchers to Israel.

The magazine said the Saudi government had requested the Boxer vehicles for the Saudi Royal Guard – a unit whose role is confined mainly to protecting the Saudi royal family. “The Boxer is roadworthy and suitable for combating uprisings,” it noted.

It said that in the event of the “Arab Spring” spreading to Saudi Arabia, the Royal Guard would almost certainly be used to defend the royal family to the last. “Then there would be the possibility of German armoured vehicles being used against the masses,” the magazine wrote.

The Boxer is currently used by German forces in Afghanistan as an armoured troop transporter and patrol vehicle. It can also be used as a mini field hospital. The Saudi demand for the vehicles comes on top of a request for the supply of 270 German-built Leopard 2 tanks, which rate as the most sophisticated of their kind in the world.

On Friday morning, Harvard University students living on campus woke up to discover that flyers that had been slid under their doors for “The Pigeon, Harvard’s Newest Finals Club,” stated “Jews need not apply”.

The leaflet went on to say: “Seriously, no fucking Jews. Coloreds OK”.

The dean of Harvard College, Evelynn M. Hammonds, emailed students to say: “As Dean of the College, and as an educator, I find these flyers offensive. Tom Gross adds: Many think that Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg, who is Jewish, would not have been spurred into founding the social networking site Facebook if he had not been effectively shunned by another student club at Harvard that discriminated against “geeky Jews” and tried to exclude him on that basis.

Campus Reacts To Inflammatory Flyers

Students in at least six River Houses found this flyer for “The Pigeon” under their doors early Friday morning. The flyer featured inflammatory language regarding minority students, race, and religion, sparking controversy across campus.

Students in all nine River Houses received sealed invitations under their doors early Friday morning professing to come from “Harvard’s Newest Final Club” – with the inflammatory statements that “Jews need not apply” and “Coloreds OK.”

The enclosed flyer, bearing a crest of a griffin encircled by a laurel wreath, invited recipients to the first introductory punch event of the purported social club “The Pigeon.”

The invitation listed three virtues, each with asterisked notes. The first principle, “Inclusion,” came with the footnote, “Jews need not apply.” The second, “Diversity,” was followed by the words, “Seriously, no fucking Jews. Coloreds OK.” And the third, “Love,” directed readers to the term “Rophynol” – a misspelled rendering of rohypnol, the date rape drug better known as roofies.

Egypt’s ruling party is paying gangs of thugs to sexually assault women protesting in Cairo’s Tahrir Square against President Mohamed Morsi, activists said.

One protestor, Yasmine, told the newspaper how she had been in the square filming the demonstrations for a few hours when the crowd suddenly turned.

Before she knew what was happening, about 50 men had surrounded her and began grabbing her breasts. She said they ripped off her clothes, starting with her headscarf and for nearly an hour, indecently assaulted her with their hands.

A few men tried to help her but they were beaten away. Eventually some residents who had seen the attack from their windows came to her aid and an elderly couple pulled her into their home. She suffered internal injuries and was unable to walk for a week.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has never been a friend to Israel. Today, speaking at the 2012 Saban Forum on US-Israel Relations, a liberal organization, she railed against Israel for supposed insensitivity, lack of empathy, and lack of generosity with regard to the Palestinians – even as the Palestinians unilaterally violated all agreements with Israel and attempted to declare statehood, and within days of Hamas firing rockets on Israeli population centers and bombing a bus.

Here’s what she said:

“So, look, I’m not making excuses for the missed opportunities of the Israelis, or the lack of generosity, the lack of empathy that I think goes hand-in-hand with the suspicion. So, yes, there is more that the Israelis need to do to really demonstrate that they do understand the pain of an oppressed people in their minds, and they want to figure out, within the bounds of security and a Jewish democratic state, what can be accomplished. ”

Israel has handed over broad swaths of territory to the “dispossessed” Palestinians (a huge percentage of whom are Egyptian, Syrian, and Jordanian, or the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of those who left Israel in 1948 and were purposefully not absorbed by the Arab world). Israel has legitimized terrorists like Yassar Arafat in a desperate attempt to broker peace. Israel has sacrificed its own security for twenty years attempting to come to some sort of solution. Israel has accepted the threat of rockets hitting its major cities. Israel has done the job of the anti-Semitic Palestinians by forcibly removing Jews from their homes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, making those territories Judenrein. There is no occupation of the Gaza Strip – and it is now the dominion of Hamas. Israel has propped up the Palestinian Authority with weapons and cash and supplies – only to see the Palestinian Authority continue to back terrorism and indoctrination of children in anti-Semitism.

Clinton’s language couldn’t be any more insulting. She endorses the cycle of violence nonsense that endangers the very existence of the Jewish State, and the only democratic and free state anywhere in the region.

What more is Israel supposed to “demonstrate that they do understand the pain of an oppressed people”? Commit suicide? Voluntarily jump into the Mediterranean? Why doesn’t Clinton – or anyone in the Obama administration – ever call for more sympathy from the Arabs who continue to cram Palestinians into detention camps in Syria and Jordan more than sixty years after the establishment of the State of Israel?

She continued instead:

” And I think that, unfortunately, there are more and more Israelis and Palestinians who just reject that idea out of hand: Why bother? Why try? We’ll never be able to reach an agreement with the other. But in the last 20 years, I’ve seen Israeli leaders make an honest, good-faith effort and not be reciprocated in the way that was needed.”

But she added:

” I really believe this with all my heart: I think that even if you cannot reach a complete agreement that resolves all these incredibly hard issues, it is in Israel’s interest to be trying. It gives Israel a moral high ground that I want Israel to occupy. That’s what I want Israel to occupy — the moral high ground.”

Interviewed on Fox News by Greta Van Susteren, former US ambassador to the UN John Bolton maintains that the Obama administration could have prevented the vote that has resulted in Palestine’s admission to “non-member observer state” status with all that that potentially entails.

“Israel is making a big mistake in trying to downplay this [result]” he says, explaining that “This is not looking good for Israel,” that “Israel’s on the run,” and in a weaker position vis-à-vis Iran and its other regional enemies.
