ELECTIONS ARE COMING: DALIA al AQIDI FOR CONGRESS (R- MINNESOTA-DISTRICT 5)

Meet Dalia al-Aqidi, the Patriotic Republican Muslim Who Wants to Defeat Ilhan Omar By Michael van der Galien

Ayaan Hirsi AliVerified account @Ayaan To all my American followers please look up this brave and patriotic woman: Dalia Al-Aqidi. Here is a quote from her: “I am loyal to the country that gave me a chance, gave me a brighter future,”. Dalia is challenging Ilhan Omar. I am with Dalia.

This is glorious: Dalia al-Aqidi is, like Ilhan Omar, Muslim, a woman, and a refugee. Unlike the Democrat congresswoman, however, Al-Aqidi is proud to call herself an American and she’s a Republican rather than a Democrat.

Al-Aqidi has had enough of Rep. Omar. Not only does Omar do a tremendous disservice to other refugees by being as anti-American as she is, but she’s also smearing the image of every other Islamic refugee who came from a war-torn country to the States. And so, Al-Aqidi has decided to take her on.

ELECTIONS ARE COMING: CHIP ROY FOR CONGRESS (R-TEXAS- DISTRICT 20)

In Wake Of Iran Strike, Congress Needs To Debate Overseas Deployments By Chip Roy

Rep. Chip Roy is running for reelection. To help and learn about him go to:https://chiproy.com/

Missed amid the partisan fervor following the death of terrorist leader Qassem Suleimani was the unique opportunity it presented Congress to come to a national consensus about the U.S. presence in the Middle East. After 18 years at war without so much as a debate in Congress about the extent to which our men and women in uniform are deployed overseas, President Trump’s decision to take out the Iranian general last week catalyzed a national conversation between Republicans and Democrats.

Setting aside opinions about whether the president was correct in his decision to take out Suleimani, I and colleagues on both sides of the aisle raised concerns about our mission, strategic objectives, and presence in the dozen countries we now operate in under the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF).

As you may recall, the 2001 AUMF was passed in response to the terrorist attacks of 9/11. The men and women who have deployed under the AUMF have bled around the globe to protect liberty and the national security of the United States and our allies. They’ve accomplished a great deal, too.

ELECTIONS ARE COMING: MIKE GALLAGHER (R-WISCONSIN-DISTRICT 8)

GOP Congressman: House Dems’ War Powers Resolution ‘Unserious’ and ‘Purely Political Document’ By Nicholas Ballasy

Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, said the War Powers Resolution that passed the House is an “unserious” and “purely political document.”

Gallagher was asked why he thinks the Trump administration would need authorization from Congress for the airstrike that killed Qasem Soleimani given that the Obama administration didn’t receive authorization for the war in Libya in 2011.

“It obviously wouldn’t be required because this was fundamentally a defensive action. The president has inherent authority under Article II to do what’s necessary to defend our troops against imminent threats. Furthermore, our troops are in Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi government and pursuant to congressional authorization that Congress has never taken time to repeal,” Gallagher said during an exclusive interview.

“So I think it gets to a basic question of whether you want us to be in Iraq and believe in the mission and I view this War Powers Resolution, if you read the document, as an unserious document; as a purely political document; as an attempt to criticize the president without asking the harder questions about what we need to be doing in the region to push back Iran,” he added.

Gallagher, who served in the Marines, shared his reaction to the Iraqi parliament voting to expel U.S. troops from the country following the airstrike.

ELECTIONS ARE COMING: MICHIGAN SENATE

John James Outraises Gary Peters for the Second Quarter in a Row in Michigan Senate Race Reagan McCarthy

It is now officially an election year, and although President Trump will be at the top of the ballot, the fight for control of the Senate may be even more contentious. Democrats have their eyes on a few GOP swing states, including Arizona, Colorado, Iowa and Maine; the GOP also has its sights set on flipping a few blue states, including Michigan. The seat at play is currently held by Gary Peters (D-MI), who was elected to the seat in 2014. Peters is a relatively low-profile senator and has little real name recognition among his constituents.

ELECTIONS ARE COMING: DANNY MERRITT FOR CONGRESS-(R- GEORGIA DISTRICT 1)

Merritt Shaking Up GOP Politics in Georgia By Jack Fowler

It’s impossible not to like or respect Danny Merritt, the young warrior, successful businessman, husband, dad (of four), and member of the extended National Review family who is now turning his attention to politics: He has launched a primary challenge against Congressman Buddy Carter, the incumbent Republican who has held Georgia’s first-district seat since 2015.

The co-founder, with his brother Tyler, of the enormously popular Nine Line Apparel, Merritt — a decorated Army officer (now a major in the reserves) and combat veteran who was a platoon leader in Iraq in 2008 prior to serving in Afghanistan with the 1st Cavalry Division — threw his helmet in the ring this May because he believes that more veterans need to serve in Congress. A strong supporter of President Trump, he would make VA reform a priority. His campaign, so far, has been grass-roots and self-funded.

In a recent interview with American Military News, Merritt described a key motivation for running: lawmakers cashing in on their office: “So many times we see our representatives are using their positions to enrich themselves, to improve their own lives or the lives of their family members. Everybody scratches each other backs. . . . Americans are sick and tired of it.” Describing himself as a “complete outsider” who is “completely new to politics,” Merritt says he will “have a fresh look at how things are done and be able to do things differently,” adding, “I’ve done that in business and in combat and been successful, and I’m hoping to do that in Congress.”

MY SAY: ELECTIONS ARE COMING

The immortal composer and lyricist Kurt Weill wrote “But it’s a long while from May to December…..” But time does fly, and the election season goes into full gear in early February.

All the states will be choosing representatives for Congress and many Senate sets will be up. Those are critical, since the Dems are relentless in their drive to distract or destroy President Trump.

February  11,2020 The New Hampshire Primary…Democrat and GOP
February 22, 2020 Nevada Caucus- Democrat

ELECTIONS ARE COMING ON NOVEMBER 6, 2018

There are many good columns and editorials on the serious consequences of the upcoming election by excellent journalists and commentators. Now here it is in a nutshell from the President of our nation Donald Trump.

“This election is a choice between Republican results and radical resistance.
It’s a choice between greatness and gridlock.
It’s a choice between jobs and mobs.
And it’s a choice between an economy that is going strong
and the Democrats who are going crazy.”
