Using COVID-19 Crisis, Democrats Seek Radical Changes In How U.S. Votes

https://issuesinsights.com/2020/04/08/using-covid-19-crisis-democrats-seek-radical-changes-in-how-u-s-votes/

Once again letting no good crisis go to waste, Democrats in Congress recently tried to use the coronavirus stimulus bill to achieve one of their longtime objectives: Mail-in ballots for everyone, opening the possibility for massive voting fraud, abuse and stolen elections. President Donald Trump is right to oppose this awful idea.

To hear Democrats tell it, you’d think it’s a pro-voter initiative meant to foster participation by those who don’t vote or can’t during the pandemic. It’s no such thing.

Mass mail-in votes are the easiest way to run a fraudulent election and deprive legitimate voters of their actual right to vote. Democrats seem determined not just to “extend the franchise,” but to make it easier to cheat.

Just last week, Democratic Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear vetoed a law that would have required Kentuckians to show some ID before they vote. We require an ID for everything from buying a six-pack of beer to cashing a check. But somehow, the reasoning goes, requiring an ID for voting infringes on people’s voting rights.

Mail-In Voting For All?

Last Friday, at his coronavirus update, Trump was asked if he would support the push for a mail-in election. Trump was his usual blunt self: “No, because I think a lot of people cheat with mail-in voting. I think people should vote with ID, voter ID. I think voter ID is very important, and the reason they don’t want voter ID is because they intend to cheat.”

Democrats say because of coronavirus lockdowns, the 2020 presidential election should be by mail. Don’t worry, email will be next.

Ilhan’s ‘Hijabi Slip’ Confessions of deep longings for Sharia. Darrell Pack

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2020/04/congresswoman-ilhan-omars-hijabi-slip-darrell-pack/

A Freudian slip is embarrassing because for an instant something we hide is revealed to others. Maybe it’s suppressing bigoted and prejudiced feelings that we know are unacceptable in the wider society, but in a moment of stress and thoughtlessness, this dark side of who we are pops out.

Recently, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (MN-D) had her own Freudian slip. I’m calling it her “Hijabi Slip,” because it relates to her confessions of deep Islamic religious piety. The slip appeared on her Twitter feed reacting to one from a Retawa Agnihotri, who quoted from the Qur’an.

Agnihotri tweeted, “Nor come nigh to fornication/adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils).” (Quran 17: 32)

She was apparently alluding to accusations of marital and sexual improprieties against Congresswoman Omar that she had denied.  This is the history. In October, 2019, Omar filed for divorce from Ahmed Hirsi, the father of her three children. They had been separated since 2008. While separated, she married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, but got a divorce later through their Islamic traditions. There were allegations that Omar married Elmi, “her brother,” in order to grant him an immigration status.

Hamas Wants Americans Dead of Coronavirus, Democrats Want to Send Hamas Aid “They talk about 25 million infected people in just one of the 50 states. Allah be praised.”Daniel Greenfield

Thousands of Americans have died of the coronavirus. But ‘Gaza Firster’ Democrats don’t care.

Eight Senate Democrats, including Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren, dispatched a four-page letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, demanding to know what America was doing about the coronavirus.

Not in America. In Gaza.

According to the Senate letter, “as of March 24, the first two cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the Gaza Strip.”

That’s two cases. Two. The United States has over 200,000 as of now.

By the time you read this, there will be many more.

Bernie and Leahy’s Vermont has 293 cases. But Sanders cares more about Gaza than Burlington. Warren’s Massachusetts has 6,620 cases. Van Hollen’s Maryland has 1,660 cases. Udall’s New Mexico has 315 cases. Thomas Carper’s Delaware has 319 cases. Jeff Merkley’s Oregon has 660 cases. Sherrod Brown’s Ohio has 2,199 cases.

None of these eight Democrats represent states that are free of the pandemic. All of them represent states that have far more severe coronavirus problems than the terrorist occupied West Bank or Gaza.

Will Dems Demand Postponing The Election They’re Afraid They’ll Lose?

https://issuesinsights.com/2020/04/06/will-dems-demand-postponing-the-election-theyre-afraid-theyll-lose/

Last month, as life began to change under COVID-19 lockdowns, Chris Cillizza wrote on CNN that “whispers have begun that maybe, just maybe, President Donald Trump will use the pandemic to cancel the 2020 election entirely.”

On the same day, Politico claimed that because Trump “has repeatedly shown contempt for the rule of law and the spirit of democracy, it’s not unreasonable to worry that he could try to use the pandemic as a pretext to cancel the election and remain in power.”

Vox played along and told readers the late March delay in Ohio’s primary “understandably triggered fears that other officials, potentially even President Trump, might take advantage of the Ohio precedent to postpone or cancel November’s election if it appears that Trump is likely to be defeated.”

Business Insider’s Grace Panetta was in the game a few days earlier, writing on March 17 that some Trump critics “worry that the president could attempt to seize on the crisis by postponing or even canceling this year’s general election.”

In an op-ed published the day before in The Hill, Fox News analyst Juan Williams wondered if “given the depth of the political hole he has dug eight months before the presidential election, does anyone really think the president would hesitate to use the coronavirus as justification for postponing or canceling the next presidential election?”

Crazy Corona Committee TDS-infected Dems work to sabotage president during a national emergency. Deborah Weiss

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2020/04/crazy-corona-committee-deborah-weiss/

In breaking news, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House of Representatives will form a House Select Committee to oversee the Trump Administration’s response to the coronavirus.

The Democrats can’t stand that the president is getting high marks for how he is handling the coronavirus. Therefore, Pelosi decided to create a committee purportedly to weed out “waste, fraud and abuse” and provide “transparency and accountability.” Though it is technically bipartisan, like all committees, make no mistake about it: the purpose of the committee is to criticize the Trump administration for political purposes prior to the upcoming election.

Pelosi and her cohorts didn’t seem the least bit concerned about waste, fraud and abuse or transparency and accountability when holding up the stimulus bill to push for her pet projects including solar energy tax credits, funding for the arts, same-day voter registration, and money for NPR.  Her proposals delayed passage of the bill and prioritized her policy preferences over obtaining ventilators for hospitals and paychecks for those who have lost their jobs.

The notion that the committee will review how the Democrats have responded during this crisis is incredible.  Will the committee examine why Democrats were wasting taxpayer resources trying to impeach the president while Trump was using his time creating a coronavirus taskforce? Will the committee question why Democrats urged the president not to close the borders to China early on, painting him as a “xenophobe” and a “racist”? Will they inquire why the Center for Disease Control under President Obama was focused on gun control instead of combating potential epidemics? How about the way Governor Cuomo failed to purchase more ventilators years ago after the last epidemic, when he knew there was potential for a future pandemic? Is the new committee going to delve into that? Of course not.

The Andrew Cuomo Show Americans should know his back story — and what kind of president he would be. Lloyd Billingsley

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2020/04/andrew-cuomo-show-lloyd-billingsley/

“Inside Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s daily coronavirus briefings, and how their contrast to Trump’s became must-see TV,” ran the headline on Jake Lahut’s April 2 feature in Business Insider. In similar style, Variety headlined a March 28 column by Cynthia Littleton, “How the Coronavirus Crisis Turned Governor Andrew Cuomo Into a TV Sensation.” Even President Trump took notice.

“I wouldn’t mind running against Andrew,” the president told reporters. “But I’ll be honest, I think he’d be a better candidate than Sleepy Joe.” Cuomo did not challenge Biden in the primaries, but the third-term New York Governor, son of former New York governor Mario Cuomo, has hinted at higher aspirations.

In 2014, Andrew Cuomo authored All Things Possible: Setbacks and Success in Politics and Life, which would probably not have appeared if Cuomo did not aspire to be president of the United States. He was mentioned as a running mate for Al Gore in 2000 and takes a stand with party progressives.

The Democratic Party of early 80s, Cuomo explains, was “trying to juxtapose its progressive vision – a philosophy of opportunity and shared success for all – with the Republican idea of attenuated government and survival of the fittest, embodied by Ronald Reagan.” Further, “blaming Reagan was correct but also was the simple answer.”

Pre-Election Chorus Of Democrats Aims To Pin Corona on Trump by Conrad Black

https://www.nysun.com/national/pre-election-chorus-of-democrats-aims-to-pin/91076/

The new Democratic pre-electoral chorus is already audibly arising like a Wagnerian finale from the largely hidden choir. President Trump, they intone, bungled this and must be investigated for his incompetence which is costing countless American lives. Because of his negligence and stupidity, the country must be shut down for months to ensure an economic disaster entirely attributable (unsurprisingly) to the contemptible ineptitude of the Bad Orange Man.

CNN’s Brian Stelter, one of the battle-scarred, grizzled, veterans of the Long March of media Trump-haters, choreographically synchronized with the Washington Post, New York Times, and MSNBC, has already kicked off this new campaign, on the air and on the internet. He has gathered together the usual sampling of Trumpophobic press group-thinkers, and followed Saul Alinsky’s first rule, accusing the enemy of precisely what he and his comrades are doing.

Mrs. Stelter has gone forth to battle with the same grim earnest that he brought to the previous unsuccessful crusades for the Trump-Russia election rigging fable and the impeachment fantasy.

It’s almost as if the Democrats don’t want people saved from COVID-19 By Andrea Widburg

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/04/its_almost_as_if_the_democrats_dont_want_people_saved_from_covid19.html

The urgent search for a COVID-19 cure means that the usual scientific approach to testing medicines – big studies with careful control groups – is not an option. We can’t wait that long. Instead, trial and error, along with an accretion of anecdotal data, is the best we’ve got.

This method has yielded one significant possibility for treating COVID-19: Chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine (which are similar malaria drugs), along with azithromycin and zinc. (For ease, I’ll refer here to the whole treatment as “chloroquine.”)

Funnily enough, though, the Democrats are incredibly hostile to the chloroquine. One has to wonder if they’re hoping, not for the best, but for the worst.

Fairly early in the COVID-19 pandemic, China said that it had seen some good outcomes with chloroquine. Others began noting the same thing. In early March, UPI reported that South Korean experts recommended anti-malarial drugs to treat coronavirus.

Chloroquine also got a boost when Prof. Didier Raoult, a famous virologist, published a study showing that, of eighty in-patients treated with chloroquine, seventy-eight recovered fully, one died, and one remained ill. Raoult felt so strongly about chloroquine’s benefits that he concluded it would be unethical to have a control group that did not receive the medicine. On Wednesday, the New York Times reported that another study from China pointed to chloroquine as a possible cure.

Trump Responds to Schumer’s Coronavirus Criticism: ‘I Never Knew How Bad a Senator You Are’ By Tobias Hoonhout

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/coronavirus-crisis-president-trump-responds-to-chuck-schumer-criticism-i-never-knew-how-bad-a-senator-you-are/

““If you spent less time on your ridiculous impeachment hoax, which went haplessly on forever and ended up going nowhere (except increasing my poll numbers), and instead focused on helping the people of New York, then New York would not have been so completely unprepared,” Trump leveled. “. . . You have been missing in action, except when it comes to the ‘press.’”

President Trump sent a scathing letter to Senator Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) after the Senate minority leader criticized the president’s coronavirus response and demanded that he establish someone “unpolitical” to oversee the flow of medical equipment to embattled providers.

“No wonder AOC and others are thinking about running against you in the primary. If they did, they would likely win,” Trump wrote. “ . . . I’ve known you for many years, but I never knew how bad a senator you are for the state of New York, until I became president.”

The criticism comes after Schumer claimed Trump was politicizing the government’s coronavirus response, after reports that hospitals and other medical providers are facing shortages of crucial medical equipment. “It is the cruelest irony that this nation is now dependent on China for many of these products,” Governor Andrew Cuomo said at his daily press briefing on Thursday.

Coronavirus Recriminations Come First House Democrats tee up virus investigations before the election.

“It’s an election year, so politics was always going to fill up that space in congressional brains where the frontal lobe is supposed to be. But couldn’t Democrats at least wait for the intensive-care units to empty?”

While most Americans under coronavirus lockdown are worrying about their jobs, their groceries, and their local doctors and nurses, congressional Democrats have other priorities. To wit, pin blame on the Trump Administration before the November election.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that she will appoint a House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis. Its task will be to oversee—meaning investigate—the government’s aid efforts, which so far run to more than $2 trillion. “Where there’s money there’s also frequently mischief,” Mrs. Pelosi said. “We want to make sure there are not exploiters out there.”

Some Members of Mrs. Pelosi’s caucus think that every corporation is an “exploiter” of one kind or another. Their goal will not be to protect federal dollars but to highlight unpopular companies that get a grant or loan and then claim it’s the result of political favoritism. The only question is which ones will become the next Halliburton (Dick Cheney during Iraq) or Koch brothers (all-purpose villains).
