Obama and the Occupation Eileen F. Toplansky

Barack Obama once again showed his true colors when he engaged in his circumlocutory analysis of the Hamas genocidal activities.  Claiming that it is a “complicated” issue he used the term occupation even though Gaza was returned in total to the Palestinians and they, in turn, decided to elect baby murderers.

Obama promised to transform America and now in his third term via his puppet Biden, Americans are suffering the lies of a man whose every decision proves his comfort with Left-leaning, as well as jihadist thinking and actions.  He cannot help himself in his loathing for freedom and deep-seated hatred of the Jewish state.  Instead he wraps himself in a cloak of faux intellectual profundity counting on the fact that most of this audience do not know the actual facts of which he speaks.

After all, to this day, a videotape of a 2003 banquet where then-state Sen. Barack Obama spoke of his friendship with Rashid Khalidi, a Palestinian activist has been deliberately suppressed.

In the Commentary Magazine of July/Aug 2002, one learns that “no term has dominated the discourse of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict more than ‘occupation.’”

Consequently, “the prevailing view not only among Arab residents of the West Bank and Gaza but among Palestinians living within Israel itself as well as elsewhere around the world is shown by the routine insistence on a Palestinian ‘right of return’ that is meant to reverse the effects of the ‘1948 occupation’, i.e., the establishment of the state of Israel itself. Palestinian intellectuals routinely blur any distinction between Israel’s actions before and after 1967.”

In essence, occupation for the enemies of Israel is “its very legitimacy as a state.”  Despite the fact that Jews are the indigenous people of the area, they have no right to the land in the eyes of their enemies.

Count Obama in.  After all, his use of the term “occupation” is a clarion call that delineates and emphasizes the words of Ghazi Hamad of the Hamas Political bureau who has asserted that Hamas “must teach Israel a lesson, and we will do this again and again.  The Al-Aqsa Flood (October 7) is just the first time, and there will be a second, a third, a fourth, because we have the determination, the resolve and the capabilities to fight.  The occupation must come to an end.  I am talking about all the Palestinian lands [and, of course, that means] the annihilation of Israel.”

Nothing “complicated” about fathoming the force, fury and meaning of Hamas’ intentions.

The next term that the useful idiots on campus will chant is that Israel is an apartheid state.  Apartheid is a “system of legally or culturally enforced discrimination and/or persecution based on a person’s race or national or ethnic identity.”

Khaled Abu Toameh, a Palestinian journalist, has long shed light on the fact that “Arab citizens of Israel enjoy more rights in the Jewish state than their Palestinian brothers do in any Arab country.”  In fact, “of all Arab and Islamic countries, Saudi Arabia is often described as a ‘glaring example of religious apartheid.’”

The real apartheid in the Middle East has long been apparent in the Islamic world. Islamic apartheid encompasses Islamic oppression of women and gays, and Islamic bigotry is clearly evident against other religions, particularly Christianity and Judaism.  In fact, “religious apartheid” is an Islamic tenet.

Israel is the opposite of an apartheid regime. It is a multicultural liberal democracy with a legal system that upholds equal rights for all citizens.

  • Israel is a diverse society of people from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. Their rights are equal and protected by law.
  • Israel’s founding document states that Israel, ‘will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture.’
  • Twenty-five percent of Israel’s citizens are not Jewish and have always had equal voting and political rights. Arab citizens of Israel were elected to the first Knesset (parliament) in 1949 and have won as many as 17 seats in a single election.
  • From 2021-2022, Israel’s government included and relied on the support of Ra’am, an Arab party representing religious Muslim Arab citizens of Israel. This government allocated $16 billion to increasing the security and prosperity of its Arab citizens.
  • In 2015 Arab-Israeli Supreme Court Justice Salim Joubran oversaw Israel’s national elections, as head of the central elections committee.
  • Mariam Kabaha became Israel’s national Equal Employment Opportunity Commissioner in 2015, and is now the highest-ranking Arab woman in civil service.
  • Israeli Druze, Bedouins, and Arabs fight in the Israeli Defense Forces and have attained ranks as high as Major General. In 2016, Colonel Dr. Badar Tarif became the first Druze officer to be appointed as the head of the IDF Medical Corps.

Furthermore, Israeli policies in Gaza do not constitute apartheid  because Israel removed all soldiers and civilians from Gaza in 2005, and all Palestinians there have been governed by the terrorist group Hamas since 2007.

Moreover, accusing Israel of genocide against the Palestinian Arabs as Rashida Tlaib, the Arab-American 2008 coordinator of Obama’s presidential campaign in Michigan, asserts is hard to sustain when the population of the Palestinians keeps growing.  It is yet another canard in the effort to delegitimize Israel.

In fact, when one realizes that “according to the UN, by the year 2035, the Palestinian population is expected to increase by nearly 60 percent, it would mean [please read slowly] that Israelis are allegedly not only responsible for a genocide which results in an above-average population growth rate, but also one in which the number of victims will eventually surpass that of the perpetrators”!

And if this were not bizarre enough, Israel also provides medical care for the families of the enemy’s leadership, drops leaflets, makes phone calls and gives warning shots before engaging in military action.

In 2016, David Craig pointed out that “Israeli genocide leads to?  Lots more Palestinians!”

It is imperative that all Americans truly understand that while Iran sees Israel as the “Little Satan” it ultimately has its sights on America, the “Great Satan.”

So as Obama rallies the genocidal monster to action, and the media falls in line, it is essential that those who treasure freedom understand the gravity of what Ambassador Dror Eydar has stated:

The elimination of Hamas is thus the eradication of evil from the world. It is a moral duty, just as humanity had a moral duty to annihilate Nazi Germany or to wipe out ISIS. The world has lost its moral compass after many years in which language and thought have been policed by political correctness – we have a duty to return to the supreme value: preserving our lives.

We don’t have to apologize anymore. Our main argument is that we will no longer allow anyone in the world to harm Jews. Period. Without ifs and buts and without trying to find the reasons for the rage of those who would harm us. We will not participate in this sickening game, which consists of an attempt to understand evil. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ statement that the massacre committed by Hamas ‘did not happen in a vacuum’ but was connected to the ‘occupation’ [emphasis mine] is an example of this moral relativism.

Those looking to understand the psycho-pathology of the Gazans are like those who look for reasons why the Nazis gassed Jews. In the wake of October 7, the game is over: Anyone who harms Jews or Israeli citizens can have only one fate – to leave this world.

This is not only Israel’s war, but also a war for the whole free world. Israel is the forward outpost in the defense of the free world. We are not asking for anyone’s permission to exist, nor are we asking for legitimacy to defend ourselves.

As Americans look on in horror at beheaded and oven-baked Israeli babies,  it is truly time to awaken the sleeping giant and fill our country with “terrible resolve” to end the evil and assist Israel with complete and irrevocable support.
