Biden’s Banana Republic Fact? Hillary Clinton broke the law in handling her emails. No indictment. by Jeffrey Lord

It was amazing to see Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointed special counsel, Jack Smith, step in front of the cameras and say of the indictment of former President Donald Trump: “No one is above the law.”

Which is to say, Jack Smith looked the American people in the eye and straight up lied. It was the stuff of a banana republic.

Fact? Joe Biden, who did the same thing with classified documents as Donald Trump — and four times over — is not being indicted. He is above the law.

Fact? As Rep. James Comer’s House Oversight Committee is revealing, Joe Biden now stands accused of routinely accepting bribes from China to enrich his family. No indictment forthcoming. Because Joe Biden is above the law.

As the New York Post reports:

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has said the FBI has additional documents expanding on an informant file alleging President Biden participated in a multimillion-dollar bribery scheme during his vice presidency.

Fact? Hillary Clinton broke the law in handling her emails. No indictment. Because Hillary Clinton is above the law.

All of which is to say that Biden, Garland, and Smith — with ex-FBI Director James Comey coming in right behind them — are four of the most corrupt officials to come down the pike in all of American history.

No less than the Wall Street Journal, no fan of the former president, correctly warns that:

[H]is indictment by President Biden’s Justice Department is a fraught moment for American democracy. For the first time in U.S. history, the prosecutorial power of the federal government has been used against a former President who is also running against the sitting President.

Special counsel Jack Smith announced the indictment in a brief statement on Friday. But no one should be fooled: This is Attorney General Merrick Garland’s responsibility. Mr. Garland appointed Mr. Smith to provide political cover, but Mr. Garland, who reports to Mr. Biden, has the authority to overrule a special counsel’s recommendation. Americans will inevitably see this as a Garland-Biden indictment, and they are right to think so.

Exactly.

And it didn’t take long to see the results of this serious and quite deliberate corruption of justice. On Monday, the former president responded by saying this:

Now that the ‘seal’ is broken, in addition to closing the border & removing all of the ‘criminal’ elements that have illegally invaded our country, making America energy independent, & even dominant again, & immediately ending the war between Russia & Ukraine, I will appoint a real special ‘prosecutor’ to go after the most corrupt president in the history of the USA, Joe Biden, the entire Biden crime family, & all others involved with the destruction of our elections, borders, & country itself!

Well of course. This is the decidedly necessary fighting fire with fire — and quite apparently this is the only thing Joe Biden understands.

This is quite obviously selective prosecution, as Fox legal analyst Gregg Jarrett said yesterday during Sean Hannity’s radio show.

And without doubt, as the Wall Street Journal noted, this is a willful, desperate attack on democracy. It is weaponizing the legal branch of the U.S. government — a corrupted Department of Justice — to interfere in a presidential election by prosecuting Joe Biden’s prospective political opponent.

It is noteworthy that when a CBS poll was taken after the Trump indictment, this was the headline from Newsmax:

CBS Poll: Trump’s GOP Primary Lead Grows to 38 Points After Indictment

Newsmaxs Eric Mack reported this:

Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis getting in the race did not cut into former President Donald Trump’s support, and special counsel Jack Smith’s indictment Thursday has only furthered his lead on the field, according to the latest CBS News poll released Sunday.

Trump has stretched his lead in the poll to 38 points over DeSantis and at least 57 points on the rest of the field. Also, when likely GOP primary voters were asked which candidates they would consider, Trump received an overwhelming support of 75%.

All of which is to say that, politically speaking, this indictment, all by itself a glaring symbol of a corrupted justice system, has sent Republicans swarming to the former president’s side. And they should. Without question, they understand that the Biden administration is a serious threat to democracy itself, unhesitating in its use of a system of justice it has corrupted to weaponize the law for only one purpose: getting Donald Trump.

Not to mention that, just as Trump has said, when these corrupt government officials finish getting Trump, rank and file Americans whose politics they don’t like will be next.

Now is the time for Americans to get to the political barricades in defense of their country and democracy itself. And to put a decided end to the corrupt politics of the Biden Banana Republic.

And as the former president says, there must be a price to be paid by Joe Biden, not to mention Merrick Garland and the decidedly corrupted “special counsel” Jack Smith.

The place to start? Impeachment of Biden — and Merrick Garland.

Stay tuned.
