Hitting Trump Before He’s Sworn In Democrats are fine with becoming “the party of no.” Matthew Vadum

Democrats and left-wing activists are planning to vigorously attack President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees before Trump even takes office at Noon on Jan. 20.

The purpose of this early resistance to the incoming Trump administration is not only to deprive Trump of political legitimacy but also to undermine his authority and make it impossible for him to govern.

All this talk of a vast Russian conspiracy to hack U.S. computer networks to put Trump in the White House is also part of the leftists’ scheme. So was Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein’s goofy fundraising campaign disguised as recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

Commie agitprop director Michael Moore is encouraging angry left-wing mobs to come to Washington, D.C., and riot in the streets of the nation’s capital on Inauguration Day in an effort to prevent or at least cast a shadow over Trump’s assumption of the powers of the presidency. Moore’s idea is to do as much damage as possible to Trump before he even gets sworn in. It worked against George W. Bush.

Feminists are planning a Women’s March on Washington for Trump’s first full day as president. Organizers hope 200,000 people will show up but that number seems very optimistic.

“We plan to make a bold and clear statement to this country on the national and local level that we will not be silent and we will not let anyone roll back the rights we have fought and struggled to get,” said Tamika Mallory of Al Sharpton’s National Action Network.

President Obama is part of this too. He is planning to stay behind in Washington after Inauguration Day in order to obstruct Trump’s efforts to undo his destructive legacy.

So with just one decisive election that reduced Democrats nationwide to their lowest ebb since at least 1920, the left-wingers who spent the Obama years denouncing Republicans as the “party of no” have suddenly decided being the “party of no” is fine by them.

Sounding much like PLO terrorist leader Yasser Arafat “negotiating” with the State of Israel, the Senate’s new minority leader, Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), said Democrats will only work with Trump if he “moves completely in our direction and abandons his Republican colleagues.”

“The only way we’re going to work with him is if he moves completely in our direction and abandons his Republican colleagues,” Schumer told CNN. “Ninety to nine-five percent of the time we’ll be holding his feet to the fire and holding him accountable.”

He is specifically promising to prevent Trump from appointing a ninth member of the Supreme Court to replace the late conservative justice Antonin Scalia.

“It’s hard for me to imagine a nominee that Donald Trump would choose that would get Republican support that we could support,” Schumer said on MSNBC. When asked if he’d do his “best to hold the seat open” on the Supreme Court, Schumer answered, “Absolutely.”

Democrats have also signed onto a quixotic quest to aggressively oppose eight of Trump’s cabinet nominees and stretch their confirmation votes into March, a move he Chicago Tribune called “an unprecedented break with Senate tradition.”

According to the newspaper:

Such delays would upend Republican hopes of quickly holding hearings and confirming most of Trump’s top picks on Inauguration Day. But Democrats, hamstrung by their minority status, are determined to slow-walk Trump’s picks unless they start disclosing reams of personal financial data they’ve withheld so far, according to senior aides.

Democrats will take aim at: Rex Tillerson (Secretary of State); Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) (Attorney General); Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.) (Office of Management and Budget); Betsy DeVos (Secretary of Education); Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) (Secretary of Health and Human Services); Andrew Puzder (Secretary of Labor); Steve Mnuchin (Secretary of the Treasury); and Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt (R) (EPA Administrator).

“President-elect Trump is attempting to fill his rigged cabinet with nominees that would break key campaign promises and have made billions off the industries they’d be tasked with regulating,” Schumer said in a statement Sunday. “Any attempt by Republicans to have a series of rushed, truncated hearings before Inauguration Day and before the Congress and public have adequate information on all of them is something Democrats will vehemently resist. If Republicans think they can quickly jam through a whole slate of nominees without a fair hearing process, they’re sorely mistaken.”

“It’s curious that they’d [Democrats] object to treating the incoming president’s nominees with the same courtesy and seriousness with which the Senate acted on President Obama’s nominees,” said Antonia Ferrier, a spokeswoman for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). “Our committees and chairmen are fully capable of reviewing the incoming Cabinet nominations with the same rules and procedures as the same committees did with President Obama’s nominations.”

Senate confirmation hearings are scheduled to get underway next week. The Judiciary Committee will consider the Sessions nomination and the Foreign Relations Committee will consider the Tillerson nomination.

Politicians in the nation’s most populous state are gearing up to wage their own war against Trump.

Democratic lawmakers in California’s legislature hired the nearly impeached former Obama lackey Eric Holder as a lawyer to fight the Trump administration on immigration, the environment, and criminal justice issues. Holder’s expertise, of course, is in obstructing, as opposed to enforcing laws, which is one of the key causes of his disputes with Congress.

“Having the former attorney general of the United States brings us a lot of firepower in order to prepare to safeguard the values of the people of California,” said Kevin de Leon, Democratic leader in the state senate. “This means we are very, very serious.”

California Democrats decided to retain Holder because Trump is assembling a cabinet of conservatives. “It was very clear that it wasn’t just campaign rhetoric,” de Leon said. “He was surrounding himself with people who are a very clear and present danger to the economic prosperity of California.”

Gov. Jerry Brown (D) appointed left-winger and former U.S. Rep. Xavier Becerra (D) as the state’s attorney general to help protect California’s lawless so-called sanctuary cities from an expected assault by Trump.

Meanwhile, something called Humanity for Progress has created a star-studded video with Hollywood actors Steve Buscemi, Sally Field, Rosie Perez, and Jeffrey Wright. The group is reportedly an offshoot of another group called Humanity for Hillary.

Variety reports the video urges federal lawmakers to obstruct Trump if he pursues “racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, anti-union, anti-environmental” policies.

“The majority of Americans, regardless of who they voted for, did not vote for racism, for sexism, or for xenophobia. And yet Donald Trump won,” the script reads.

“We know the majority of the American people, regardless of who they voted for, do not want a regime that permits hate and monied interests to run rampant,” said a spokesman for the group.

The public service announcement especially grates on the nerves. It’s filled with brooding, unsympathetic left-wing elitist scolds like MSNBC airhead Toure and real estate gazillionaire Bruce Ratner whose vile late brother Michael, a communist-lover who wrote a pro-Che Guevara book and headed the subversive Greenwich Village-based public interest law firm Center for Constitutional Rights. It also features leftist organizers such as Ai-jen Poo of the National Domestic Workers Alliance.

The PSA comes in the wake of the push last month by a group called Unite for America to get presidential electors to go rogue to deprive Trump of an Electoral College majority. Useful idiot actors Martin Sheen, Debra Messing, and a slew of other B-list and C-list celebrities urged GOP electors to be “American heroes” and vote someone other than Trump in order to throw the election to the House of Representatives. It didn’t work. More Hillary Clinton electors defected than Trump electors.

On Wednesday night, MoveOn sent out a mass email to members from Benard Simelton, the Alabama State Conference president of the NAACP. In it Simelton brags about being “arrested last night while taking part in a nonviolent sit-in at Senator Jeff Sessions’ Mobile office in Alabama to oppose his nomination for attorney general.”

Radicals love getting arrested. Saul Alinsky viewed a stay in the hoosegow as a gateway to personal growth and as a means of building street cred as a political activist. “[A] periodic removal from circulation by being jailed is an essential element in the development of the revolutionary,” he wrote.

Urging members to sign a petition, Simelton opines that Trump “is wholly unqualified to be the nation’s top law enforcement official, as demonstrated by his long and troubling record in opposition to civil and human rights.”

It’s a bogus racism charge but Sessions is an easy target. He’s white and a Southerner and that fits the Left’s narrative so Simelton and his kind are trying to lynch him.

We’re going to be hearing this kind of leftist lying a lot in the coming four years.
