Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed today that Israel won’t exist in 25 years, and in the time leading up to that the Jewish state will have “no moment of serenity.”

In a public address in Tehran today, Khamenei called Israel “fake,” according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.

“Some of the Zionists have said that given the results of the nuclear negotiations, they have been relieved of concerns about Iran for 25 years, but we tell them that basically, you will not see the next 25 years and with God’s grace, nothing under the name of the Zionist regime will exist in the region by then,” the ayatollah said.

He later tweeted his quotes with a photo of people walking on the Star of David, stressing that “heroic and jihadi morale” will torture Israel until its fall.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flew to London today, where he noted “Khamenei is not giving supporters of the agreement any room for illusion.”

“He has made it clear that the U.S. is the Great Satan and that Iran intends to destroy the State of Israel,” Netanyahu said. “This will not happen. Israel is a strong country and it will become even stronger.”

“However, the conclusion that arises from the remarks of the tyrant in Tehran is that all responsible countries must cooperate in order to stop Iran’s terrorism and aggression which, to my regret, will only increase as a result of the agreement.”

Iran’s parliament has not yet voted on the nuclear deal. The supreme leader has said he’s not pushing the vote one way or the other, but has been consistently issuing warnings about trusting the Americans. “We will not negotiate with the U.S. in other fields” besides the nuclear issue, Khamenei said today.

The White House has consistently brushed off the supreme leader’s words as just words, but his latest comments as the debate over the Iran resolution has begun in Congress this week should add fuel to the arguments on the Hill.

“Anyone who thinks it’s a good idea to give the ayatollah $100 billion of new money without any requirement to change his behavior is really not looking at the same world I am,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told Fox. “If a guy tells you he’s going to cut your throat, don’t buy him a knife. The biggest mistake here was to separate the nuclear program from their behaviors, Iranians, on the ground.”

“You’re flushing him with cash, letting him buy more weapons. The next 15 years are going to be holy hell in the Mideast because of this deal.”
