Jordan Fights the Enemy, and It’s Not Israel: Jack Engelhard

Has the Arab World found the real enemy after all?

Following the brutal execution of a captive Jordanian pilot at the hands of ISIS, this would be the perfect time for sensible Arab leaders to realize that all along they’ve been mistaken. The enemy was never the Jews. The enemy came from within their tents, and it was always so.

Think of the benefits if they would only smarten up to that unassailable fact. We would all be in the same fight.

Blaming the Jews – for everything – is a convenience and luxury the world can no longer afford. It is getting late.
While they armed and warred against Israel, ISIS happened.

We have it no less than from the United Nations that “the Islamic State group is systematically killing, torturing and raping children and families in Iraq.” The report cites “several cases of mass executions of boys, as well as beheadings, crucifixions of children and burying children alive.”

That’s only Iraq.

The same brutal business goes on by degrees wherever Christians and Jews find themselves defined and trapped as Infidels.

Muslims themselves fare no better against Muslims. Rivers of blood extend throughout the region. As we get it from T.E. Lawrence: “So long as Arabs fight tribe against tribe, so long will they be a little people, a silly people, greedy, barbarous, and cruel.”

Did the President of Egypt see this clearly enough? Apparently so. A month ago Abdel Fattah el-Sisi brazenly called for the Muslim world to correct itself. He demanded a “religious revolution” to combat extremism – noteworthy for two reasons.

First, he had the courage to say what nobody in the clans wanted to hear. Second, he blamed none of the troubles on “Zionists,” which everybody wanted to hear.

Up to that moment, blaming the Jews was the Muslim world’s default position. For the world in general it was as automatic as beer and baseball.

Perhaps some progress is at hand?

You would not know it from a rant in December that came from Jordanian Member of Parliament Khalil Attieh. During a “moment of silence” to honor two murderers, those Arabs who hacked to death four rabbis at prayer in a Jerusalem synagogue, Attieh praised the “martyrs” and took a moment to declare, “Yes, I hate the Jews. I hate the Jews. I hate the Jews.”

Another day in the world of deluded Islam, finding fault everywhere but at home.

But fast forward to the King of Jordan’s reaction to the barbaric slaying of his pilot. King Abdullah declared war on ISIS for the deed.

He vowed vengeance and invoked Clint Eastwood to make his day. Already it’s bombs away.

Also there was no mention of “Zionism” as the cause of everything. Quite a switch.

Is this simply a pause in the heat of the moment? Or is this the real deal, the civilized Muslim world awakened at last?

What a waste of time.

What a waste of humanity that while this Islam was busy hating the Jewish State, the other Islam was busy sharpening its knives. Nobody saw it coming?

The war against the Jews was always a sideshow. The animosity against Israel was always a pretext to step around disputes within the family of Islam.

Israel has always been a friend and remains so if given half a chance.

Imagine the IDF at your side!
