In less than a week the free world seems to have lost the United States’ leadership, and the media lost its courage. The winners are the Islamists, whose ‘sensitivities’ apparently weigh more than those of Christians, Jews, Hindus, and all other “infidels.” Could this be attributed to the fact that only the offended Muslims take machetes to slit the throats of those who allegedly offended them?

French President Francois Hollande, who called for this weekend’s rally in Paris, managed to turn the message of the biggest symbolic protest against Islamist, anti-Semitic terrorism into farce.

Hollande’s national security adviser, Jacques Audibert, delivered a message to the Israel’s Prime Minister office, saying, “Hollande would prefer that Netanyahu not attend because his presence would be ‘liable to divert attention to other controversial issues, like Jewish-Muslim relations…’.” When Netanyahu did not comply, Hollande immediately invited the Palestinian Authority’s (not a state) anti-Semitic Chief Mahmoud Abbas, who earned his Ph.D. in Holocaust Denial from Moscow’s Patrice Lumumba University and who sends his al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades  to kidnap and murder Jewish children just because they are Jews. His presence was complemented by his supporter Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Lavrov’s attendance occurred as the Moscow police arrested “Je suis Charlie” sign-carrying demonstrators.

The farce continued with the mass of people that rallied in Paris carrying “Je suis Charlie” signs. They perverted the message that Charlie Hebdo’s brave cartoonists paid for with their lives. Instead of challenging the aggressors, as did Emil Zola’s “J’Accuse,” the rally identified with the victims.

The French who marched in the streets of Paris should have demonstrated their resistance to Islamist terrorism by holding up signs portraying the Mohammad caricatures that got the Charlie Hebdo’s editors killed. Identifying with the victims is dignified and touching to Westerners. But to the Islamists this gesture demonstrates weakness.

Indeed, the Islamists quickly seized the opportunity to remind all Muslims of their Quranic duty to kill those who offend their prophet Mohammad. An example is a sermon posted on the Internet on January 10, as documented by The Middle East Media Research Institute. It shows Tunisian cleric Bechir Ben Hassen preaching that such “killing is sanctioned by a number of Quranic verses, by the Sunna, and by the consensus of the scholars of the past.”

Not to be left behind, Iranian Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, in a televised sermon, denounced the killing of the innocents in Paris, blamed America, England and Europe for instigating the terrorist attack.

Despite the louder, clearer intensifying Islamist incitement to violence against the infidels, European and American leaders and media are still unwilling to understand how the Islamists think.

Instead, they are willing to understand Muslims who are offended by whatever they decide is offensive and go on a rampage to kill those they target. This understanding is the best tradition of turning the other cheek.

The Wall Street Journal, for example, tries to understand their motives. “Paris Killer Nursed Deep Resentment Against French Police,” says a headline in the Journal. It goes on to explain, “Gunman Who Attacked Kosher Grocery and Killed Officer Harbored Resentment of Police.” That, however, was clearly not his reason for killing the shoppers at the Hyper Cache supermarket.  He went into the Jewish store to kill Jews.

Israel’s Economy Minister Naftali Bennett, who attended the event in Paris, pointed out the hypocrisy that dominated the rally. Protesting the presence Mahmoud Abbas and other Arab leaders whose funding feeds the global Islamist terrorism network, Bennett said: “It’s hypocritical of those same Qataris and Arabs who are financing terrorism to come and demonstrate as if against terrorism.”

Unfortunately, the French and other Europeans, as well as the Obama administration, dismiss this fact, perhaps because they also directly or indirectly support Palestinian terrorism. Moreover, they neglect to recall that killing the Jews is just the appetizer for Islamist barbarism. The European and American infidels are next.  A fresh reminder was the Islamic State’s announcement on the hacked Central Command twitter accounts, “American soldiers, we are coming, watch your back.”
