Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said the GOP is delivering “an insult to the American people’s intellect” through its opposition to immigration reform.

Jackson Lee, the ranking member on the Border and Maritime Security Subcommittee of the House Homeland Security Committee, rallied with local leaders in Houston on Sunday for President Obama’s promised executive action on immigration.

The congresswoman argued that schools, hospitals, the arts, businesses and families were suffering because Congress hadn’t passed comprehensive immigration reform.

On Saturday, she told CNN that ”it’s interesting that when it serves the will of the Republican Party, not the will of the American people, they are able to use lame duck politics, they are willing to go against the president.”

“But when it serves a broader view, such as comprehensive immigration reform, there is no interest, if you will, in working with the president. It is quite a story for the American people to understand,” she said. “Every movement to improve the lives of Americans Republicans have been against. And they have been against it if the president has been for it.”

The White House (H/T Breitbart News) released the following statement on the beheading of Abdul-Rahman Kassig, presented here in its entirety:

Today we offer our prayers and condolences to the parents and family of Abdul-Rahman Kassig, also known to us as Peter. We cannot begin to imagine their anguish at this painful time.

Abdul-Rahman was taken from us in an act of pure evil by a terrorist group that the world rightly associates with inhumanity. Like Jim Foley and Steven Sotloff before him, his life and deeds stand in stark contrast to everything that ISIL represents. While ISIL revels in the slaughter of innocents, including Muslims, and is bent only on sowing death and destruction, Abdul-Rahman was a humanitarian who worked to save the lives of Syrians injured and dispossessed by the Syrian conflict. While ISIL exploits the tragedy in Syria to advance their own selfish aims, Abdul-Rahman was so moved by the anguish and suffering of Syrian civilians that he traveled to Lebanon to work in a hospital treating refugees. Later, he established an aid group, SERA, to provide assistance to Syrian refugees and displaced persons in Lebanon and Syria. These were the selfless acts of an individual who cared deeply about the plight of the Syrian people.

ISIL’s actions represent no faith, least of all the Muslim faith which Abdul-Rahman adopted as his own. Today we grieve together, yet we also recall that the indomitable spirit of goodness and perseverance that burned so brightly in Abdul-Rahman Kassig, and which binds humanity together, ultimately is the light that will prevail over the darkness of ISIL. What a curious thing to say.

I can’t think of any religion with beheading as a fundamental tenet. Beheading has been used as a form of execution in various places with various religions at various times. France’s last execution was about 30 years ago, using the guillotine. In Saudi Arabia, swordsmen still perform the ultimate punishment, and all too often.

EU leaks diplomatic blackmail and extortion it considers inflicting on Israeli politicians and democracy unless Israel submits to its demands

The “secret” document which Haaretz has obtained from, and is promoting for, the European Union working group apparently tasked with denying the Jewish State its self-determination and its capacity for self-protection, has now been released in its full glory.

The idea that such a document could be woven together with – as is contended by Haaretz – the support of all the leadership of the EU’s 28 member states is nothing short of a global stink bomb.

If Haaretz is to be believed, the EU has devised a series of punishments for the Jewish state designed to strip the nation of its ability to operate as an independent, democratic nation.

Central among the EU’s strategies is their effort to deny Israeli voters the right to choose political leaders they approve of. Instead, the EU is proposing that they will chose Israel’s leaders, by “supporting” the ones they like and refusing to conduct international relations with those they don’t like – even if the hated ones happen to be Israel’s Foreign Minister, or its Ambassadors to various countries.

The fact that official pronouncements of Hamas and Fatah proclaim Jew-hatred with a full throat; that they explicitly call for the complete destruction of Israel (a member state of the United Nations, even now); and the murder of every Jew in the world – hardly rates notice.

Instead, Israel is now to be punished by Europe for refusing to negotiate with people who have made clear their goal of the destruction of the Jews.

Before getting to the additional implements (see earlier article on the first tranche) of torture the EU will contemplate applying to Israel, new information comes courtesy of more anonymous “senior EU diplomats.” Those cowards want their scribe to make sure everyone knows that the list of punishments being drawn up was not done so only at the request of the few standard haters of Israel.

No, apparently nearly the entire EU is so furious with Israel for refusing to commit self-vivisection, they all want to teach Israel some lessons it won’t forget.

Four killed, eight wounded – three seriously and one critically.

At 7: 00 on Tuesday morning, 18 November 2014, two Palestinian terrorists wielding meat cleavers, knives and guns entered the Kehilat Bnei Torah building on Harav Shimon Agassi Street in the ultra-Orthodox Har Nof neighborhood in Jerusalem, which includes a synagogue and yeshiva. They began attacking worshipers, stabbing them before opening fire. About 30 worshipers were in the midst of the morning prayers, wearing prayer shawls and phylacteries.

Police who arrived at the scene shortly after the attack began shot and killed the two terrorists.

Police confirm that four people were killed in the terror attack and eight wounded, three seriously and one critically. Two of the wounded are policemen, one in critical condition as doctors fight for his life.

One of the victims has been identified as Rabbi Moshe Twersky, 59, head of the Torat Moshe Yeshiva in Jerusalem, elder son of Rabbi Isadore Twersky of Boston, and a grandson of Modern Orthodox luminary Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik.

All you have to do is change the name of the victim, and this could be a story from August, or September, or October: the Islamic State has beheaded yet another hostage, this time Peter Kassig, aka Abdul-Rahman Kassig, and Barack Obama has declared yet again that the beheading has nothing to do with Islam. Obama might as well have a form ready for the next jihad beheading or mass murder attack: all he will have to do is fill in the blank and then take to the airwaves to say that the latest bloodshed has nothing to do with Islam. If the victims are British, he can lend his form to David Cameron.

But all this repeating of the political elites’ “Islam is peace” meme will never make it so. And the constant repetition of this falsehood is doing nothing less than endangering Americans. It keeps people ignorant who might otherwise get a clear idea of the nature and magnitude of the jihad threat. It fosters complacency. It makes all too many Americans assume that this kind of behavior is restricted to the “extremists” of the Islamic State, and could never happen here.

It could happen here. It could happen anywhere that people read the phrase “when you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks” (Qur’an 47:4) as if it were a command of the Creator of the Universe. But to point out that simple and obvious fact nowadays only brings down upon one’s head charges of “hatred” and of “demonizing all Muslims,” when in a sane society it would bring honest explanations from Muslims of good will of what they were doing to ensure that no Muslim ever acted on that verse’s literal meaning.

In reality, they’re doing nothing. No Muslim organization, mosque or school in the United States has any program to teach young Muslims and converts to Islam why they should avoid and reject on Islamic grounds the vision of Islam – and of unbelievers – that the Islamic State and other jihad groups offer them. This is extremely strange, given the fact that all the Muslim organizations, mosques and schools in the United States ostensibly reject this understanding of Islam. And even stranger is that no American authorities seem to have noticed the absence of such initiatives, much less dared to call out Muslim groups about this.

In a telling commentary on the habits of the natives many travelers to the lands where the Religion of Peace peacefully reigns over burning cities, littered heaps and frightened refugees insist on learning to recite the Shahada, the Muslim profession of faith, in case of capture by peaceful Muslim terrorists.

But the devout beheaders have long since gotten wise to this particular infidel trick.

The Jihadists behind the Westgate mall attack in Kenya bypassed the obvious and instead killed hostages for being unable to answer such questions as “What was the name of Mohammed’s mother.” Not all Muslims might have been able to dodge a bullet by answering that question, but the terrorists were testing for religiosity as much as for ethnicity. A Muslim who couldn’t name the mother of the father of terror was deemed un-Islamic enough to be murdered by his monstrous children.

Most of the hostages held by ISIS could have answered that question and many others. They could and did recite verses from the Koran. The majority of them converted to Islam. That did not save them.

Instead the recent testimony of a hostage held by an ISIS ally indicates that his guards respected him more for remaining a Christian while despising his Western cellmate for readily converting to Islam. Despite their constant preaching about Islam, the Jihadists could not like or respect a traitor. They rightly judged that a man who would join a religion under duress had no religion, fealty or faith.

In the end ISIS executed those who converted and those who did not.

It is a mistake to think that converting to Islam can save your head. At best it earns the convert a place at the bottom of the pole. A woman marrying into an Islamic family can skip the line by subsuming her identity within theirs. A male convert is pressured to earn his place by committing various violent acts which is why we have seen a rash of vicious attacks committed by male converts in the West.

Let us engage in a brief thought experiment. Imagine three US service members disembarking off their ship docked in the Israeli port of Haifa. They paint the town but are suddenly and unexpectedly surrounded by a group of 12 or so hooligans, who yell epithets at them, call them “murderers,” throw garbage at them, rough them up and then place bags over their heads. Imagine further that the hoodlums are caught and arrested by Israeli authorities but are inexplicably released shortly thereafter.

Let us engage in another thought experiment. Imagine that Israel, under the pretext of ensuring its security, dynamites eight-hundred “Palestinian” homes. The Israelis argue that smuggling tunnels under some of those homes warrant drastic action and announce their intention to construct a barrier where those homes once stood, displacing ten-thousand residents.

These two incidents actually occurred but not in Israel. On November 12, in a sickening display of brute thuggery, three US sailors in Istanbul were assaulted by a group of Turkish nationalists. They were roughed up, humiliated, had bags stuffed over their heads and chased to chants of “Yankee go home.” Some of the suspects were apprehended and despite the fact that they showed little remorse, were inexplicably released by Turkish authorities.

The second incident, involving the wonton destruction of some eight-hundred homes and the displacement of some ten-thousand residents occurred in the Egyptian controlled part of Rafah that straddles the border between Sinai and the Hamas enclave of Gaza. It seems that the Egyptians had had enough of Hamas’s shenanigans and decided to act resolutely after as many as 31 Egyptian soldiers were killed in an attack that the Egyptian government blamed on Hamas.

Now let us return to our thought experiment. What was the State Department’s reaction to these two occurrences? In the latter example, there was simply no reaction, only silence. There were no condemnations from John Kerry, no claims by Jen Psaki that such drastic measures were disproportionate and no protests from Obama shills Ben Rhodes, Phillip Gordon and Josh Earnest that such sweeping actions amount to collective punishment, are a source of regional instability and present obstacles to peace.

The British Royal Family and the Islamist Terrorists

Four men aged 19-27 were arrested by British police on Thursday, November 6th, for allegedly planning a terror attack in London against Queen Elizabeth during the Remembrance Day ceremony that took place on Friday, November 7th.

The terrorists were seized by the police following months of surveillance and police were said to be interrogating the suspects – who are thought to have hatched a plot to assassinate the Queen with a knife.

England, of course, under Prime Minister Cameron is a leader in tolerance and respect for Islam and even allows Sharia Law-governed “no-go” areas. After the ISIS beheading of British citizen David Haines, Cameron was quoted as feeling the need once again, just as after every terrorist murder, to emphasize that such terrorism was not done by the “religion of peace”: “They are killing and slaughtering thousands of people… they boast of their brutality… they claim to do this in the name of Islam, that is nonsense, Islam is a religion of peace. They are not Muslims, they are monsters.”

In my book, Tolerism: The Ideology Revealed (Mantua Books, second edition), I discuss how the endless tolerance of the intolerant illiberals endangers us all if these intolerants take power and end all tolerance. Britain has quite an ambivalent relationship with Islam and especially those who commit violence, or otherwise attack British historic liberties and freedoms, for the purpose of conquest and a jihadist caliphate.

Britain, of course, had its own version of 9/11, the July 7, 2005 London bombings (often referred to as 7/7) which were a series of coordinated suicide attacks in central London, which targeted civilians using the public transport system during the morning rush hour.

As well as the four bombers, 52 civilians were killed and over 700 more were injured.
