JACK ENGELHARD; OBAMACARE IS A LOTTERY…AND YOU LOSE

It is becoming increasingly obvious that some Americans will benefit from Obamacare, but most of us will lose our doctors, our hospitals, in fact our entire heath care plans because, in horseplayer parlance, there’s a sucker born every minute, and suckers are us! We gambled on the wrong man.

The wrong man came up with the wrong plan.

We tossed the dice. He promised us hope and change. So here we are with change – call it Obama-lottery – but no hope.

Obama-lottery will never get fixed because it is a gamble against our health. This is one place where there should be no gambling, and yet this is the wager we chose…and this will never get fixed as many times as Jay Carney paints lipstick on this nag.

This much must be said for those of us who play the horses as opposed to those who play the lopsided odds when they vote for president: At least we study the Racing Form before we pick out a horse. We handicap. We use science and intelligence. We check out the horse’s lineage, his breeding.

We know in an instant all about his family, his training, his connections.

Then we measure his successes against his failures by charting his Past Performance.

Is he a winner, a loser? Can he be relied upon to put forth an honest effort? Can he be trusted?

So when we finally put down our two dollars at the window, we know there is risk, but we also know what we are getting.

We knew nothing about Obama when we gambled on him at the voting booth. The Past Performance chart gave us practically zero.

Community organizer? That’s it? Would you bet on a horse that is a community organizer?

What we did know about Obama – Rev. Wright and all that – should have been a warning, not a bet.

So what can you possibly say if you voted for him once, and then twice, but find your health care services dashed and vanished thanks to the Obama-lottery?

Too late to get your money back. No refunds at this window. But what did you expect?

Still, though, Obama has his followers. He still has his dreamers. He is now “unfavorable” to about 40 percent of the country. People say that is low. Wrong. This is high. Low is 20 percent. The 40 percent figure means that still, almost half the country wants more of the same, yes, more of that Obama-lottery.

Gamblers like this, we call them compulsive – and we urge them to seek help immediately.

If they can still find a doctor.
