Cuba is a center for Cyber Warfare. The US public is becoming more and more aware of the importance of cyber war, especially after the destructive STUXNET worm attacks. Why bomb and destroy a nation’s facilities when with a cyber attack you can shut down or destroy a nation’s industries, power grid, communication systems, and banking system. A successful cyber attack has no “finger prints,” There is no way to trace the responsible individual, groups, or nation behind successful attacks. Plus a nation can use criminal organizations to steal millions from financial institutions as part of a cyber attack. More important is the new level of cyber war, which we are watching unfold in Iran. Cyber attacks have the potential now to blow up or destroy power plants and  industries.

So much on cyber war has been classified. The US public is learning about cyber war defenses. But any thing regarding offensive cyber warfare is often classified and in the US it is a criminal offense. The real problem is that if the CEO of a government agency or company asks the Chief Information Officer (CIO) is their organization safe from cyber attacks, the CIO must say “no problem.” Except recent cyber  offensive improvements have raised cyber war to a new, unexpected danger level.

Cuba has major SIGINT centers, which were originally funded and operated by Soviets. Today the Chinese have a large investment in cyber war centers in Cuba. Last reported there were at least 1,800 Chinese cyber war

experts in Cuba. For details Google Cuban Cyber War Centers; or Lourdes, Cuba; or Bejucal, Cuba.

With or without the Castro brothers, Cuba will continue to be a SIGINT and cyber war center.
