SHADES OF NORA ASTORGA NICARAGUA’S SANDINISTA AMBASSADOR TO THE UN WHO WAS NEVER RECOGNIZED BY THE US MISSION UNDER RONALD REAGAN….THIS WAS HER TALE:

She participated in  kidnapping and murder of General Reynaldo Pérez Vega (nicknamed “El Perro,” or “the dog”). Pérez Vega was deputy commander of Anastasio Somoza’s National Guard.[4] On March 8, 1978  Astorga invited the general to her apartment in Managua, promising him some “sexual favors”…. When he arrived, however, three of her goons Sandinistas Hilario Sánchez, Raúl Venerio and Walter Ferreti — burst out of her bedroom closet and seized him…  Pérez Vega put up a struggle and was murdered. Later, with his throat slit, he was found wrapped in a Sandinista flag. Astorga said of his murder, “It was not murder. He was too much of a monster.”

NEW YORK (AP) — New York police on Thursday said a Nicaraguan official was found dead in a Bronx apartment with his throat slit.

Police said the 34-year-old man was found by his driver at about 10:15 a.m. Thursday. He was believed to be headed to the United Nations for the opening of the General Assembly‘s annual meeting.

Police did not release the man’s name but said they believed him to be a consular official. His body was discovered just inside the door of his sixth-floor apartment, police said.

The door was ajar. A knife was recovered at the scene.

An assistant to Nicaragua’s ambassador to the United Nations, Maria Rubiales de Chamorro, said the mission couldn’t immediately release any information.
