Now is the time for Congress to support Israel

Ambassador John Bolton has warned that Israel only has until the end of the week to launch a military strike against Iran’s nuclear reactor, as it did against Iraq’s Osirak reactor in 1981 and Syria’s North Korean-built facility in 2007. By Saturday, Iran will have started loading nuclear fuel rods into the reactor, meaning that any attack would have deadly humanitarian and environmental impacts that Israel would want to avoid.
 
Now is the time for the United States, at both the executive and legislative levels, to declare firmly that we will support a pre-emptive strike by Israel against Iran’s nuclear facilities, should Israel decide that is the only way to protect itself. The Iranian regime has defied 3 binding UN Security Council resolutions, and is determined to wipe Israel off the map. Only a strong statement of support by the US will force Iran to back down.
