National Security

The United States with its strong military and adherence to moral principles is the protective barrier against rogue states and violent ideologies. The American policy in foreign affairs has been to promote democracy, protect human rights, and help in the development of economic prosperity and stability throughout the world.

Bob will fiercely support our nation’s right to self defense and will make certain NewYork gets the funds and attention necessary from the federal government to protect its citizens.  Bob strongly opposes trying foreign terrorists in a civilian court and the closing of Guantanamo Bay.  Bob will stand firmly with our allies and especially defend the state of Israel.

Health Care Bill

The legislative victory of this supposed health care reform bill will prove illusionary. The bill at about 3,000 pages is unread, hastily prepared, misunderstood, and will ultimately endanger the American health care industry and the medical profession. Its obscure provisions are too often left to bureaucrats to enforce and interpret. The bill’s ultimate compliance provisions are assigned to the IRS with its existing powers to seize assets and freeze accounts upon suspicion of fraud or non-compliance. The effect on small businesses and job growth is chilling.

The cost of the bill is projected to be less than $1 trillion in federal dollars over the next 10 years. The real cost increases will be directed against the private sector in higher insurance premiums and against state taxes to pay for mandated coverage.

Health care reform is needed. People need to change jobs and carry over their coverage, pre-existing medical conditions must be addressed. This can be accomplished with the creation of high-risk insurance pools subsidized by federal and state funds. Overall cost can be reduced through medical tort reform and interstate competition between private insurance companies.
