WHEN AL GORE SPEAKS AT COMMENCEMENT EVEN THE CHAIRS FALL ASLEEP…READ THE COMMENTS

Al Gore, who received an honorary degree from the University of Tennessee for his outlandish proclamations of doom about the planet, gave a commencement address that was more of the same. Not only that, but on a day that graduates are excited about their future, Gore was downright depressing.

In a dozen years, when the economic collapse desired by the progressives has occurred, when the global temperatures have dropped on their own, and the recovery has begun by our TEA party neo-Federalists, everyone will look at this nitwit and say, “Why did anybody ever pay any attention to this elitist, no-nothing, vapor salesman?”

The guy should be in jail. His fraudulent attempt to manipulate climate data as the basis for extorting millions of dollars from anyone who breathes out CO2 is nothing short of FRAUD. He aligned himself as the “broker” for all the “Carbon offset” payments which has already generated millions for him. This is pure white collar crime and he should be investigated, prosecuted and made to pay the price when found guilty. Of course, right now he is safe with all the democrat criminals who simply ignore tax law, immigration law, as well as the THE CONSTITUTION itself.

He really is a despicable character.

This still is (for both him and for us, this is both fortunate and unfortunate) a free country. Al Gore is (and should be) free to say what ever he wishes. If this were also a rational country, however, he would be booed off of every stage he ever managed to get on.

I think that if the graduates of the university deserved their degrees (or had any courage) they should have gotten up and walked out on Gore. What an unbelievable idiot and con man. There are not strong enough words to condemn him. “Green” is a good strategy conceptually, but it is possible to go “off the deep end” with it, and it is certainly ludicrous to try to legislate it.

Gene, please don’t use Dan Qualye as an example of stupidity. I’m not from the middle West and did drive through Indiana once, but I watched Quale’s actions in the legislative Branch. He was excellent and offered many good bills. He may have gotten flustered when the VP job was sprung on him in N.O. and was given only the usual VP tasks later, but was head and shoulders above almost all we have now.

Wow! What a stemwinder that vacuous windbag gave. Did he talk about his new California home, his personal aircraft, his profiteering from carbon exchange, the fact that global warming is still a theory with many discredited studies and scientists?

The cap and trade is perhaps the most egregious of them all. We are going to send our tax dollars (yes it is a tax on carbon usage) to China?????? The largest emiting nation in the world for CO2. I don’t want to wish my life away, but I would like to fast forward to November so as to avoid Igor’s and Obama’s desecration of our noble country.

What everyone before has stated is quite true! The man is a born crook. He got in trouble as vice-president when he took illegal money from the Buddhists toward the presidential campaign, then had to pay it back. He finally hit on a scam that has really paid off.

As for Dan Qualye, he went to school with my son and I knew his father slightly. He was a very smart young man and did a lot of good while in congress. I saw him on an interview the other day and he is still the very intelligent, well spoken, man that I remember. To use Dan Qualye’s name in the same breath with Al Gore is about the stupidest thing I have ever seen or heard! Aside from being highly intelligent he is a very nice man and as honest as is humanly possible and so is his family!

This guy is this generations Jim Jones. He is nothing more than an American Osama bin Laden.

He continually fails to consider or speak to the fact that when Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1991 it threw more CO2, smoke, and other pollutants into the atmosphere than man has since he lit his first fire. It was talked about for all of one day about a month after the eruption, and the media has been stifled on it ever since. The recent eruption on Iceland is having the same effect, but fanatics like gore ignore the obvious in order to push their own get-me-richer agendas.

The Air & Waste Management Association holds a high school essay contest each year in conjunction with their Earth Day outreach activities. I am chair of the Public Education Division and this contest is coordinated by the Public Information Committee. Of the 97 essays submitted, a majority of them mentioned global warming. Al Gore has clearly communicated his message. “The Great Global Warming Swindle” asserts that global warming is due to sunspots rather than CO2 emissions. see video.google.com How do we uncouple carbon-cap-and-tax from the benefits of actions taken to achieve US energy independence from imported oil?

No, he is not free to say whatever he likes when his words are involved in theft by deception and that is what claiming that CO2 is a poison gas causing the earth to heat is when you are in the business of selling Carbon credits.

I, as an individual, can have the opinion that something is or is not, but when I tie to that a business or government handout based on my words knowing they are are not true (Al Gore knows CO2 is not a lethal gas, IMO) it becomes theft by deception.

If I had to sit through a Gore-a-thon, I’d probably go be a hermit in Idaho.

When students stand and boo Sarah Palin, they show their rudeness and stupidity, and the press makes a lot of political hay of the story. How have we gotten to the point where this charlatan–Algore–can heat the air in front of his face and get a standing ovation?

Oh, thanks for the laugh! My husband and I are cracking up as we remember the time we met a retired couple at the Grand Canyon (they seemed harmless) and struck up a conversation. You can guess how it ended…he wrote the name of some website on a napkin (’cause it was simple enough for us to understand) and I wrote God is in Control on a napkin. Man, they lost it!! He leaned in real close, for dramatic effect, and sputtered, ‘Then you’re going to DIE!’. I was laughing hysterically, my husband reminded him we’re all going to die, then took my arm and we left.

There’s so much more to this story, can’t tell it all here, it’s sad and pathetic when it’s not ridiculously funny though.

R Chap,

What difference does that make? Because they’re all brainwashed into globalism/socialism and didn’t speak out, then Al MUST BE RIGHT? Give me a break. That position is PRECISELY how a nation lets itself get into a mess like the one we currently find ourselves. “Well, nobody at the speech was complaining.” Do you know what kind of courage it would take for a student to stand up at UT’s graduation ceremony and verbally let Al have it with both barrels? The kind of courage that isn’t taught in college, high schools, grade schools, or most homes anymore. Try the Marine Corps. They do a pretty good job in the courage department. What the solution? Go with the flow, even if it’s going down the drain?? Wake up, man. Please! If you were actually curious about whether or not UT students posted here, then you have my sincere apologies. If you were making a subtle (albeit weak) point with your comment then I direct you back to the beginning of this post.

Jessica,

It’s not about Gore personally. He’s just the crook behind the scam attempting to rob my children. There’s more to life? Like what? Slavery? You can have it. You’re telling folks here to grow up? Are you serious? We’re not perfect, but at least we’re not asleep at the wheel. WAKE UP BEFORE YOU HAVE NOTHING LEFT!

Ok, just to make sure the record is clear–I was always a “Republicrat” or “Demicran”; I’d vote for the best person of any party. I was nominally a Democrat, but it all depended on the individual. I viewed the Republican Party as the “loyal opposition”–I favor fiscal responsibility

That was ruined with 8 years of the worst president (lower case) we’ve ever had. I can’t support anyone who backs the planks of the current pseudo-Republican party that’s been hijacked by the special interests. It’s a sad state of affairs.

HOWEVER–this goes beyond any partisanism that has been engendered in the past 10 years.

This guy’s a fraud. There’s no question that there’s global warming–the big question is whether it’s anthropomorphic global warming (AGW), or something that’s part of the normal cyclic changes related to solar maxima and other cycles. But he’s fixated on the politically motivated AGW agenda.

As for the presentation, it would be ok to talk about gloom’n’doom–if you then talk about the opportunities and challenge, to end on an up note at a graduation. This was clearly edited with an agenda, but somehow I suspect there was no message of hope and challenge.

Foo.
