Video: Allen West Discusses Energy Independence

What can be a huge advantage for the United States to create an economic goldmine as well as strike at the heart of Islamo-fascists, is energy independence.

As Sarah Palin mentioned time and again, drilling for oil and natural gas domestically will create jobs, produce economic growth, reduce deficits, and to cut the money supply to totalitarian foreign regimes who harbor terrorism in the Middle East and around the world.

Lt. Col Allen West recognizes this as well. Florida’s hot topic in the political fray is offshore drilling. West appeared this morning on Stuart Varney’s morning show on Fox Business Network on the national security and economic importance of drilling.

He furthered the argument of how China is moving ahead with drilling off the shores of Cuba, near the Floridian coast for oil supplies, as the United States stay idly by, not tapping into this overflowing resource so desperately needed in our markets.

If by now you don’t know Lt. Col Allen West, you should.
He’s an American hero and a staunch conservative and a rising star of the GOP.

Running for Florida’s 22nd district, West’s claim to fame was in August 2003 when he was in charge of the artillery unit of the 4th ID in Iraq. He was responsible for 600 men. West’s primary objective was not only to win and defeat the enemy, but to protect his men. He endured a series of deadly attacks by the Iraqi insurgants endangering many in his infantry.

West suspected an Iraqi police officer for plotting to kill him and the men in his infantry. After hours of interrogation, the Iraqi man was steadfast in claiming that he knew nothing.

West had enough and was desperate for answers. From his experience, he knew this man was hiding vital information. He held a pistol and fired several shots by the head of the Iraqi officer. By threatening this Iraqi, or “scaring him straight” if you will, the Iraqi finally chirped and revealed his guilt as well as information about those involved in the plot.

West saved hundreds of lives and should be hailed as a hero. Instead, but not surprisingly, he gained enemies in the liberal media including the Washington Post, accusing West of mentally “abusing a prisoner during an interrogation.”

As a result, a host of legal troubles came crashing at Lt. Col. West, who endured years of trials. Can you believe this? However, he was finally cleared of charges.

Looking at Obama’s radical growth of government, out of control spending, and dangerous kowtowing to the enemy, West had enough.

As a national security hawk, a contrast to the Obama administration, West recognizes the cataclysmic danger of a mullah-controlled Iran obtaining nuclear power and becoming a major threat to our dear ally Israel. West said:

“If we don’t take a stand and honor what we did in 1947 with the creation of the State of Israel,” West said, “it shows that we are not committed to the principles we believe in Western Civilization: the rule of law, individual rights and freedoms, the democratic state. We will let autocrats and theocrats overtake that country. And then we are next. Israel is the canary in the coalmine.”

This man is just what we need in Washington to go against the ultra-liberal agenda of the Obama administration.
