President Obama’s most explosive foreign policy crisis will occur soon. Israel is not going to let Iran get the bomb. Our State Department has concluded that the world can live with a nuclear Iran. But Israel won’t take the risk.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government haven’t been coy about the situation. Israel has conducted open military exercises aimed at preparing for a hit on Iranian nuclear facilities. There will be no second Holocaust on Netanyahu’s watch. The Obama administration is deluded if it thinks Israel will ask permission to strike.

In fact, Israel has rarely given us notice before it attacks. It didn’t do so in the Suez Crisis of 1956, the Six-Day War of 1967 or in 1981 when they took out Iraq’s nuclear facility. The Obama administration needs to grasp that if Israel does attack, we will be involved almost immediately.

The odds of a peaceful solution get slimmer by the day. Iran is already working hard to build up its refining capacity because it currently imports a large amount of gasoline. This means a blockade would be far less potent now than a year ago. And nothing the president has done regarding terrorists and rogue states assures Israel that he will act to stop Iran. Obama needs to act now to avoid military action later.
