One Chart To Kill The Medicaid Lies For Good

https://issuesinsights.com/2025/07/31/one-chart-to-kill-the-gutting-medicaid-lie-for-good/

Can anyone guess what is wrong with the following headline? “Democrats use new tactic to highlight Trump’s gutting of Medicaid: billboards in the rural U.S.”

That appeared in The Guardian newspaper over the weekend.

How about this one from NPR: “GOP governors stay silent amid plans to slash Medicaid spending in their states.”

Or this one from AP: “Rural hospitals brace for financial hits or even closure under Republicans’ $1 trillion Medicaid cut“

Or this one from NBC News: “Another report suggests Medicaid cuts could lead to thousands of deaths.”

Or countless others like these published in the wake of President Donald Trump’s signing the One Big Beautiful Bill?

What’s wrong with them all? They are all based on one big, fat lie. There are no cuts to Medicaid.

Diplomatic Terrorism?: France’s Recognition of an Imaginary Palestinian State by Drieu Godefridi

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/21788/france-recognizes-imaginary-palestinian-state

International law — particularly Article 1 of the 1933 Montevideo Convention — defines the criteria for statehood: a permanent population, a defined territory, an effective government, and the capacity to engage in relations with other states. Yet neither of the two Palestinian political entities meets these criteria.

By choosing to recognize a “Palestinian state” that clearly fails to meet these established criteria, France departs from any international law. Macron’s declaration is not a matter of legal recognition, but a political gesture — ideological and electoral — masquerading as diplomacy.

[T]his recognition serves as a reward for terrorism. It offers no humanitarian benefit. As US President Donald Trump put it: “What Macron says is irrelevant—it won’t change anything.” The sole concrete outcome is the political legitimization of a jihadist, anti-Semitic, genocidal movement.

On 24 July 2025, France announced its decision to recognize the existence of a “Palestinian state” in September. President Emmanuel Macron portrayed this move as an act of “justice” and “peace.” In reality, however, this recognition constitutes a geopolitical fiction — contrary to international law, flagrantly at odds with the facts on the ground, and laden with profoundly harmful moral implications.

1. What State?

International law — particularly Article 1 of the 1933 Montevideo Convention — defines the criteria for statehood: a permanent population, a defined territory, an effective government, and the capacity to engage in relations with other states. Yet neither of the two Palestinian political entities meets these criteria.

On one side stands the Palestinian Authority (PA), headed by Mahmoud Abbas—a feeble administrative remnant, ostentatiously corrupt, loathed by his people and devoid of democratic legitimacy. No presidential election has been held since 2005. The PA’s limited authority extends over only a portion of the West Bank, and even there, it operates with the conditional consent of Israel and under the close oversight of the Israeli military, on which it depends for its own security.

Preparing for War, Xi Jinping Is Taking Back China’s Farms And Trying to Destroy America’s by Gordon G. Chang

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/21789/china-farms-pathogens

Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping is mobilizing state entities, including, in this case, China State Shipbuilding Corp., in his all-of-society effort to achieve food security.

[T]his effort is another signal that he is preparing to attack.

There is one more element to Xi’s food plan: Attack American agriculture. In June, three Chinese nationals were charged with attempting to smuggle biological agents into the United States.

The Chinese attempts this year to smuggle pathogens may be only the latest incidents in a Chinese campaign to bring down American agriculture. China’s regime, it appears, has been trying to plant invasive species in America since at least 2020. That year, Americans in all 50 states received seeds, unsolicited, from China.

Xi Jinping cannot stop talking about fighting, and has been readying both the military and civilian society for conflict. Xi, in short, appears to be stockpiling grain in preparation for war.

Xi knows China cannot become self-sufficient, so he is, from all indications, making sure America is not either.

A Chinese state-owned ship-building company has converted a bulk carrier into a floating farm that will produce 2,800 tons of fish a year.

The 225-meter-long Zhe Dai Yu Yang 60001 is part of a “marine bread basket” project that “aims to boost the nation’s food security by repurposing old vessels for use in aquaculture.” Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping is mobilizing state entities, including, in this case, China State Shipbuilding Corp., in his all-of-society effort to achieve food security.

Why should anyone outside China care about Xi’s obsessive drive? Because this effort is another signal that he is preparing to attack.

How Far Will the Deep State Go? By Joan Swirsky

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2025/07/how_far_will_the_deep_state_go.html

Once upon a time, there was a rock-ribbed conservative U.S. senator who tried mightily to get an über-conservative law passed but was met with great resistance by his liberal colleagues.  This went on not for months, but for almost two years.

But he was so persistent and determined that those same resistant colleagues — and their lapdogs in the left-wing media — started to call him “bulldog” — even, at times, Senator Bulldog!

Then, one beautiful spring day, he was both astounded and delighted to learn that he had enough votes to pass his proposed law.  The vote was to be taken shortly after the Senate came back from lunch.

As the senator walked along Constitution Avenue to his favorite lunch spot, The Capitol Hill Club, enjoying the gorgeous sight of the wisteria and magnolias and cherry blossoms in bloom, he felt ebullient and redeemed and also proud that his persistence, and the righteousness of his cause, would finally see the light.

There he was, Central Casting, walking tall in his blue suit, white shirt (with cuff links!), red tie… the perfect symbolic colors, he thought, for this milestone day in his life.

Hello, Senator!

As he strode along, another Central Casting figure came up to his side — tall, handsome, also dressed to the nines.

“Hello, Senator.  How are you today?”

The senator, long in public service, was accustomed to people he had never met greeting him, saying hello, wishing him well, or advising him on political matters.  And, of course, insulting him.

“Very well.  It’s a beautiful day.”

POSITIVE NEWS FROM ISRAEL FROM MICHAEL ORDMAN

Tikkun Olam, means “repairing the world”  a Jewish concept that refers to the responsibility to act in the world to improve it, whether through social justice, acts of kindness, or other means.

Alas, it is often used by ignorant hypocrites to legitimate anti-Israel rhetoric. Michael Ordman’s essential newsletters detail how Israel does “repair the world’ through its outsize contributions to technology, science and medicine that combat famine, drought, and epidemics throughout the globe. rsk

World Court Vs. Trump Admin on Climate Change An “existential problem of planetary proportions”?by Joseph Klein

https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm-plus/world-court-vs-trump-admin-on-climate-change/

The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the United Nations’ highest judicial body that is also known as the World Court, has become an utter embarrassment by violating the fundamental principles of a fair and impartial judiciary.

In 2024, the ICJ took the side of the Palestinian terrorists and their supporters by outrageously allowing a bogus complaint filed by South Africa against Israel to proceed rather than dismissing it outright. The complaint falsely accused Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinian population in Gaza. In deciding that South Africa’s case against Israel could move forward, the ICJ gave credence to the blood libel claiming that Israel’s legitimate defense of its own people to prevent another October 7th-style Palestinian terrorist rampage constituted genocide by Israel.

Now the ICJ has taken the side of leftwing, progressive climate activists by issuing its “Advisory Opinion relating to the Obligations of States in respect of Climate Change.” The United Nations General Assembly had requested the opinion.

ICJ’s President, Justice Yuji Iwasawa, described the climate change case as “unlike any that have previously come before the court.”

The case was not simply about a “legal problem,” Justice Iwasawa said, but “concerned an existential problem of planetary proportions that imperils all forms of life and the very health of our planet.”

The ICJ had no business hearing and deciding this case in the first place. Courts are supposed to confine themselves to adjudicating concrete legal controversies between parties, not acting as a quasi-legislature. Justice Iwasawa sounds more like a progressive politician pushing the radical Green New Deal agenda than a judge who is supposed to interpret the law as written. The ICJ opinion might as well have been written by a climate advocacy organization.

“A complete solution” to what the ICJ described as the “daunting and self-inflicted problem” of climate change requires, according to its opinion, “human will and wisdom at the individual social and political levels to change our habits, comforts, and current way of life to secure a future for ourselves and those who are yet to come.”

It is up to each sovereign nation, not an international court, to balance the potential gravity of any environmental concerns with the economic welfare and wellbeing of its people. Such tradeoffs are the responsibility of each nation’s duly authorized policymakers, whose decisions are supposed to be made in the best interests of their own people.

The”Palestine state” extermination gambit Today’s surrender to evil comes in the guise of a human rights lawyer Melanie Phillips

https://melaniephillips.substack.com/p/thepalestine-state-extermination

Britain’s prime minster, Sir Keir Starmer, is widely thought to be boring but decent, technocratic but moderate, a bulwark of centrism against the crazies.

This is wildly mistaken. He is monstrous.

He said today:

The UK will recognise the state of Palestine by the United Nations General Assembly in September unless the Israeli government takes substantive steps to end the appalling situation in Gaza, agree to a ceasefire and commit to a long-term, sustainable peace, reviving the prospect of a Two State Solution. And this includes allowing the UN to restart the supply of aid, and making clear there will be no annexations in the West Bank.

Like French president Emanuel Macron who has also threatened to recognise “Palestine” at the UN in September, Starmer is thus rewarding Hamas for its barbaric and depraved pogrom in southern Israel on October 7 2023.

He is blaming Israel, not Hamas for the “appalling situation” in Gaza. This even though Hamas is responsible for the war by slaughtering 1200 Israelis and others on October 7; taking more than 240 of them hostage and still refusing to release around 50 of them after 22 months incarceration; and stealing food and other aid with the intention of starving Gazans to get patsies like Starmer to say what he’s just said.

Far worse, Starmer is now threatening the Israeli victims of Hamas. Like some mafioso who’s draped his sawn-off shotgun in a keffiyeh, he says that unless Israel stops the war by September he’ll recognise “Palestine”. He imposes no conditions, however, on Hamas. Israel alone gets the treatment.

Hungry to revive the world’s oldest hatred Ruthie Blum

https://www.jns.org/hungry-to-revive-the-worlds-oldest-hatred/

Let’s not kid ourselves. Israel’s heightened efforts to guarantee that humanitarian aid reaches the residents of Gaza without falling into the hands of Hamas aren’t going to put a dent in the “purposeful starvation” propaganda campaign.

We don’t have to look far for evidence that this is the case. Take Israel’s exposing of the false depiction of certain children in the Strip with congenital diseases as victims of the “Israel-imposed famine,” for instance.

Revealing the truth behind the viral photos and front-page fabrications hasn’t stopped mainstream media outlets, including Israeli ones, from perpetuating the lie. Nor has it prevented European leaders from finger-wagging at Israel.

On the contrary, the more that Israel presents the facts, the louder the cacophony grows. The same goes for the higher the number of compromises it makes with Hamas—in order to secure the release of at least some of the hostages—and the greater the amount of aid it provides to Gazans. Indeed, the blood libels lobbed at the Jewish state since Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre nearly two years ago only increase with each passing Israeli concession.

The timing of the current Hamas-spurred media blitz isn’t accidental. It coincided with the ceasefire/hostage-release talks in Qatar. To be more precise, it began when the American and Israeli delegations had reached the end of their rope—with the terrorist group’s constant upping of its ante in the negotiations—and returned home.

Hamas’s intransigence was given a boost by the likes of The New York Times, the United Nations, and, of course, French President Emmanuel Macron, who announced his country’s unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state as a reward for Hamas atrocities.

It’s not surprising that none of those professing grave concern for the plight of hungry Palestinians bothers to mention the massive amounts of aid stolen by Hamas or the truckloads of food decaying at the border, due to the refusal by the United Nations to distribute it.

The Graveyard of Progressive Misadventures Progressive overreach alienated the middle class, replacing working-class roots with elite dogmas—and now the Democrats are reaping the whirlwind they sowed. By Victor Davis Hanson

https://amgreatness.com/2025/07/28/the-graveyard-of-progressive-misadventures/

Sometime after the election of Barack Obama in 2008, the American Left began exploring, then embracing, and finally enacting agendas that proved not only unhinged and unworkable but also fatal to the left-wing project itself.
How did the party so alienate the middle classes when it once professed it was the sole party and protector of those in-between? How did the Democratic Congress sink to a 16 percent approval rating in a current liberal Quinnipiac University poll? How could 63 percent of registered voters view the Democrats unfavorably in a recent Wall Street Journal poll?
In sum: despise the middle class, then lose elections.
At the turn of the millennium, globalization generated massive wealth by opening a 6-billion-person consumer market to the rising global powers of Silicon Valley, media, academia, law, finance, and transnational corporations. The result was a Democrat Party increasingly dominated by a new and different sort of “committed” left-wing billionaire.
The Democrat Party, by the turn of the century, had become a home for the ultra-rich, the upscale professional classes, and the subsidized poor. And its new initiatives reflected the values, ideas—and pretensions—of the globalized bicoastal elites, from reimagining a sustainable green economy to “diversity” and apologetics for America’s culpability abroad.
In the ancient days of the 1990s, Bill Clinton ensured that the Democrat party was for strong borders, legal-only immigration, and protection of union jobs from cheap imported labor. Abortion was to be safe, legal—and “rare.” Now, abortion is often praised and worshipped by the left, as if it is integral to saving a warming planet.

Keir Starmer’s blackmailing of Israel is a depraved new low The PM says he will recognise Palestine unless Israel lays down its arms – what a grotesque betrayal of an ally. Brendan O’Neill

https://www.spiked-online.com/2025/07/29/keir-starmers-blackmailing-of-israel-is-a-depraved-new-low/

With ‘allies’ like Keir Starmer, who needs enemies? Today the PM said Britain will recognise Palestine unless Israel agrees to a ceasefire in Gaza. This, truly, is a new low for this government. It is moral blackmail masquerading as diplomacy. It is a barely veiled threat against a supposed ally. Starmer is essentially telling Israel that unless it lays down its arms, Britain will reward its enemies. This will go down in history as one of the most scandalous betrayals of a ‘friend’ of modern times.

Starmer says he will recognise Palestine in September, ahead of the United Nations General Assembly, unless Israel bows to his demands. Israel, he says, must call a ceasefire in Gaza, end the ‘appalling’ suffering there, and commit to a ‘wider peace plan’ that delivers a ‘two-state solution’. And if it doesn’t, Britain will join the 147 other nations that recognise Palestine. Shorter version: do as I say, or suffer the consequences.

The imperial arrogance is off the scale. Maybe Starmer thinks it’s the 1920s and there’s still a British Mandate for Palestine that lets London boss around the Jews and Arabs of the Middle East. To make such haughty demands of any ally at war would be bad enough – to make them of an ally that is fighting a brutal battle against an army of anti-Semites that hates the West as much as it does Jews is flat-out psychotic.

Like President Macron before him – who announced last week that France would recognise Palestine in September – Starmer has clearly not thought through his imperious actions. Where would this State of Palestine be? Who would govern it: the corrupt Palestinian Authority or the demented Jew-killers of Hamas? Starmer paid lip service to the need to disarm Hamas, but he cannot escape the sick fact that he is rewarding terrorism. That he is gifting the Palestinian territories with statehood less than two years after a neo-fascist army from those territories launched a barbarous assault on the Jews of southern Israel.

Hamas won’t hear Starmer’s criticism of its actions or his demand that it release the remaining hostages. It will only hear that killing Jews has benefits.
