Qatar Does Not Seem Interested in Any Deal that Ends the Rule of Hamas in the Gaza Strip: What Qatar Is Saying in Arabic by Bassam Tawil

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/21873/what-qatar-is-saying-in-arabic

As the US and other Western countries continue to rely on Qatar to broker a ceasefire-hostage deal to end the war in the Gaza Strip, senior Qatari journalists affiliated with the Qatar’s state-run media continue to praise the Iran-backed Palestinian terror group Hamas, and are even calling for Hamas to kidnap more Israelis.

Al-Jazeera has been broadcasting similar videos from Hamas since the beginning of the war.

While the Qatari government claims to the Trump Administration that it is working to release the 50 Israeli hostages held by Hamas and other terror groups in the Gaza Strip, al-Harmi, closely associated with Qatar’s leadership, is calling for kidnapping more Israelis – whom, by the way, he described as “rats.”

“If success is not achieved this time in capturing Zionist soldiers at the hands of the heroes of Hamas Brigades, then the second, third, and fourth attempts will succeed, God willing, by adding new rats to the tally held by the heroes of the [Hamas] Brigades.” — Jaber al-Harmi, editor-in-chief of the Qatari government mouthpiece newspaper Al Sharq, X, August 26, 2025.

“I swear, the Zionist entity will inevitably disappear…. Its end is near, very near.” — Jaber al-Harmi, quoting a video by Al-Jazeera, X August 26, 2025.

“Al-Harmi’s views on Israel and the Jews are aligned with the extremist ideology of Hamas and reflect his unreserved support for this movement and for its terror against Israelis – support which is also expressed by the Qatari state.”— Middle East Media Research Institute, April 15, 2025.

If Qatar really wanted to end the war in the Gaza Strip, its representatives and propagandists would not be calling on Hamas to kidnap more Israelis.

If Qatar really wanted to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, it could do so by threatening to arrest or deport the Hamas leaders living in Doha or by seizing their financial assets.

It is time for world leaders to listen to what the Qataris are saying in Arabic, not to what they hear from them in closed-door meetings in English.

Qatar, which has long been supporting Hamas and currently hosts its leaders in Doha, already uses its Al-Jazeera television empire as a mouthpiece for Hamas and other Islamist terror groups. Since the beginning of the Gaza war, triggered by the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel, Al-Jazeera — in Arabic — has been providing a platform to Hamas leaders to praise the massacre of Israelis.

On October 7, 2023, several Hamas leaders based in Qatar appeared in a video watching the coverage of the massacre. The Hamas leaders performed the “Prostration of Gratitude.”

Al-Jazeera, in addition, has become the official mouthpiece of Hamas’s armed wing, Izaddin al-Qassam. Since the beginning of the Gaza war, Al-Jazeera has been broadcasting “exclusive” footage of Hamas attacks on Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip. Al-Jazeera is, unsurprisingly, the only station Hamas trusts.

The War on Words: How Manufactured Euphemism Corrupts Our Common Language Jamie K. Wilso

https://pjmedia.com/jamie-wilson/2025/08/25/the-war-on-words-how-manufactured-euphemism-corrupts-our-common-language-n4943009

Words are code for the mind. Change the word, and you change the thought; change the thought, and you change the action that follows.

This was the logic behind the “person-first” language that emerged in the nonprofit world. A disabled person became a person with a disability. A homeless man became a person without shelter. At its best, this reminded us that individuals deserve dignity. At its worst, it twisted language into unwieldy shapes. But even in this early form, the seed was planted: words were not just descriptions, they were instruments of perception.

From there, the seed grew into something else entirely. What began as a courtesy metastasized into a strategy. Illegal alien became undocumented immigrant — later even person without papers. Crime was reframed as a clerical mishap, trespass as missing paperwork. The reality did not change, but the story around it did.

Examples abound:

Insane became mentally ill, then mentally challenged, then differently abled, then neurodivergent — until autism and psychosis were jumbled together in one soft word.
Poor became underprivileged, then disadvantaged, then at-risk.
Prisoner became inmate, then justice-involved individual, then returning citizen.
Prostitute became sex worker, and in some corners, even entrepreneur.

This is the euphemism treadmill. When one term wears out — when the public begins to hear the fact beneath the phrase — a new one is minted. The old word is declared harsh; the new word is declared humane. Yet within a few years, the cycle repeats, because the reality has not changed. What wears out is not the word but the illusion.

As Trump Whips Inflation, Media Invent A New Word To Make Him Look Bad — ‘Sneakflation’

https://issuesinsights.com/2025/08/27/sneakflation-media-is-now-making-up-words-to-attack-trump/

In July, inflation came in lower than expected, which “defied fears of further price increases as a result of President Donald Trump’s tariffs.” That’s been happening a lot lately.

So, what’s a Trump–hating news media to do? Admit their fear-mongering was wrong? Or, invent a new term to make even good news sound ominous?

Over the weekend, CNN Business ran a story headlined: “‘Sneakflation’: How Trump’s tariffs are gradually raising costs for American consumers.”

The article admits that “inflation has remained relatively tame” this year. “To this point, consumers have been mostly shielded from starkly higher prices.”

That’s one way to put it.

Stu Smith This Pro-Palestine Group Is Defacing New York Within Our Lifetime has organized several lawless demonstrations.

https://www.city-journal.org/article/within-our-lifetime-columbia-palestinian-protest

On August 15, members of Within Our Lifetime (WOL) marched some 70 blocks across New York City, starting at the United Nations and ending in Morningside Park. Along the way, they boarded the subway en masse and resurfaced near Columbia University to join student protesters and implicitly call for the conquest of Israel. One demonstrator waved a Hezbollah flag; others vandalized a memorial near the mayor’s mansion.

The march showcased some of the pro-Palestinian movement’s most radical elements and highlighted the threat they pose to public order. As the vandalism demonstrates, WOL and its associates have a long history of lawlessness, including property destruction and building occupation. As a new school year dawns and activists push for another round of campus protests, city and university leaders must remain vigilant.

Within Our Lifetime is a pro-Palestinian organization founded by Nerdeen Kiswani, a CUNY graduate with a long history in the city’s activist scene. Kiswani co-founded the New York City chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine in 2015, which rebranded as WOL in 2018. Kiswani remains the group’s chairwoman despite multiple arrests.

The recent WOL march began as a protest at the United Nations, which has been a major target of pro-Palestinian demonstrations. Activists in recent weeks have locked embassy gates and surrounded the entrances of diplomatic missions. Kiswani also confronted acting U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Dorothy Shea while she was dining at a restaurant.

We are not being told the truth about Gaza How Hamas and its useful idiots have poisoned the narrative about this war. Brendan O’Neill

https://www.spiked-online.com/2025/08/26/we-are-not-being-told-the-truth-about-gaza/

These are dangerous days for Israel. It faces a two-pronged attack. From one flank come the radical Islamists, from the other Western intellectuals. The former are entrenched in dank tunnels in Gaza City prepping IEDs for their last stand against the Jews they so feverishly loathe. The latter are ensconced in the airless ivory towers of the West, prepping hyperbolic claims bordering on misinfo to the end of delegitimising the Jewish State they so manically oppose. One’s weapon of choice is violence, the other’s propaganda. Their aim, though, is the same: to wound, possibly fatally, the world’s only Jewish nation.

The West-Hamas alliance is undeniable now. Events of the past week have made it clear that however unwitting this unholiest of hook-ups might be, it is nonetheless real. Hamas has scurried to its tunnels in Gaza City, one of its ‘last major strongholds’, where a brigade under the command of Izz al-Din al-Haddad is planning to ‘resist’ the forthcoming IDF assault. Meanwhile, the Israelophobic influencers of the West pump out report after report on how criminal Israel is. The ante has been upped. The terrorists throw grenades, the intellectuals throw shade. They’re in league in all but name, united by a merciless antipathy for the Jewish State.

The most pressing front in Israel’s multi-flank war with its haters is in Gaza City. We should soon see a bloody showdown there between the IDF and Hamas’s surviving battalions. Benjamin Netanyahu says it will be Israel’s ‘Battle of Berlin’. The IDF is mobilising thousands of reservists. They will encounter an army of anti-Semites that has turned from a conventional fighting force into localised guerrilla units planning surprise strikes. Hamas’s threat remains largely subterranean: its Gaza City militants lurk and plot in a ‘highly developed underground’.

The coming battle for Gaza City will give the lie to the claim that Israel is carrying out a genocide. Israel has delayed its ‘Battle of Berlin’ so that civilians can flee Gaza City for safer zones – odd behaviour for a ‘uniquely murderous’ state hell-bent on ‘erasing’ the Palestinian people. The sight of Hamas’s fascistic guerrillas striking at the army of the Jewish nation will confirm this is war. War between the army of a democratic state and the army of an aspiring caliphate. The genocide libel will become unsustainable in the face of what promises to be brutal urban conflict between two parties.

Hamas will be on the back foot in this face-off, having had its ranks devastated by the IDF. But it has something in its favour: the anti-Israel hysteria of the West’s influencers. Over the past week, our elites’ crusade of criminalisation against the Jewish State has reached dizzying new heights. Israel has been found guilty in the kangaroo court of the West’s puffed-up moralists of every war crime imaginable. It has been judged the most savage nation in existence. Such shrill damnation of the Jewish State has one effect and one effect only: to inspire Hamas to continue its ruinous war in Gaza.

Hate Imam Fadi Kablawi Targets Jews, Christians at Funeral Livestreamed by Islamic Center “If you pass by a grave of a kafir, give him the news of the hellfire.” by Joe Kaufman

https://www.frontpagemag.com/hate-imam-fadi-kablawi-targets-jews-christians-at-funeral-livestreamed-by-islamic-center/

On August 2, 2025, the Islamic Center of South Florida (ICOSF) once again made a public and shocking endorsement of extremism, when it livestreamed a funeral officiated by radical imam Fadi Kablawi. For most houses of worship, a funeral is a sacred, solemn moment of unity and respect. But for ICOSF, it became yet another platform to elevate a hate preacher known for spewing vile rhetoric against Jews, Christians, women, and even fellow Muslims.

This wasn’t an isolated mistake. It was part of a pattern of behavior – one that stretches back years – showing a disturbing willingness by ICOSF to not only tolerate Kablawi but to integrate him into their most sacred religious functions. In doing so, the mosque continues to publicly align itself with a figure who has called for violent jihad and the extermination of Jews.

ICOSF, Kablawi, and the Targeting of Jews and Christians

Kablawi is the senior imam of Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah in North Miami, a hardline mosque where he regularly delivers sermons (khutbahs) laced with bigotry, conspiracy theories, and incitement. Kablawi’s reach, though, has extended to the more mainstream ICOSF. Between April and October 2022, ICOSF brought Kablawi in – at least five times – to deliver its own Friday sermons.

Kablawi has called Jews “the lowest of the lowest,” mocked them as “cheap” due to “a punishment from Allah,” claimed that most Jews are Russian imposters, and in April 2024, prayed for their outright annihilation.

Kablawi, as well, has targeted Christians. In January 2019, he stated that “Christianity can compete for first place in stupidity.” In September 2021, he said that, when he approaches a Christian to proselytize to him, “I’m not going [up] to a Christian to tell him ‘I hate you’… but that does not deny the fact I do.” Kablawi said he doesn’t hate Christians for their race or nationality – he said he hates them for their very existence.

Somber Democrats Mourn DC Going A Record Ten Days Without A Murder

https://babylonbee.com/news/somber-democrats-mourn-dc-going-a-record-ten-days-without-a-murder

In a muted display of mourning, a group of somber Democrats commemorated the unprecedented streak of 10 murder-free days in Washington, D.C.

According to witnesses, teary-eyed Democrat politicians congregated by the Reflecting Pool to decry the brutal, crushing lack of murders caused by President Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to the United States capital district.

“Our hearts and thoughts go out to the violent criminals who have been adversely affected by Trump’s arbitrary authoritarianism,” said Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader. “Together, we mourn the 10-day streak of enforced law and order that has taken over the beautiful city of Washington, D.C., and we vow to bring the city’s murder levels back to normal as soon as we can. Please join me for a moment of silence.”

According to US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the city has felt unsettling ever since federal troops were deployed.

“Normally, I get murdered two or three times a week,” AOC said, casting glances over her shoulder like a hunted rabbit. “But the quiet in the city for the last 10 days? It’s positively unnerving. I can feel it coming. Someone, help, please — Trump is literally murdering me with stress right now!”

Tragically, AOC was unable to provide further comment, as she was murdered several times by seeing a passing car with an American flag sticker.

At publishing time, Democrats had been seen weeping inconsolably over the possibility that Trump might broker a world peace deal as well.

Mamdani Race Too Critical To Ignore Robin Weaver

https://dailycaller.com/2025/08/26/opinion-klingenstein-mamdani-race-too-critical-to-ignore-robin-weaver/

In almost every recent election we are told, “This is the most important election in our lifetime.” But the November 4, 2025, New York City mayoral race may really be the most important.

Zohran Mamdani, age 33, won the June Democrat mayoral primary upsetting the favorite, the more experienced former New York governor, Andrew Cuomo.

Mamdani has promised a socialist agenda of rent freezes, free bus rides, higher taxes, and city-run grocery stores. As Gerard Baker wrote in the Wall Street Journal, Mamdani speaks to “culturally brainwashed and financially disenchanted young [people]… They will, however, find out, says Baker, that their expensive educations haven’t been the ticket to the self-advancement that they had hoped.”

But Mamdani has vulnerabilities, in particular, his calls to defund the police, and his veiled support for an intifada. Despite attempts to backtrack voters should realize that what he’s said in the past is a good indication of where he stands today.

Despite his vulnerabilities, a recent poll conducted by The AARP New York-Gotham & Analytics poll shows Mamdani at 41.8%, Cuomo (running as an Independent) at 23.4 %, Curtis Sliwa, the Republican nominee, at 16.5 %, and current New York City mayor Eric Adams, in single digits.

Each candidate has his supporters. Cuomo supporters argue that Cuomo has more managerial and leadership experience than the others. Supporters of Mayor Adams argue that he has recently surrounded himself with good people, notably Police Superintendent Jessica Tisch and First Deputy Mayor Randy Mastro. And, while not widely known, Adams has improved housing availability for many New Yorkers.

College Crackdown American institutions of higher education are facing a much-needed reckoning. By Larry Sand

https://amgreatness.com/2025/08/26/college-crackdown/

Diversity, equity, and inclusion mandates, race-based hiring, and safe spaces are just a few of the noxious turns that have become the standard in American colleges and universities in recent times.

Examples of universities practicing preferential treatment are countless. John Sailer, director of higher education policy at the Manhattan Institute, reports on a faculty job rubric he obtained from the University of Texas at San Antonio, which listed “female/URM” (underrepresented minority) as a scoring category.

Similarly, in an email he received from Northern Illinois University, a computer science professor shared the department’s search committee evaluation rubric, which scored applicants on their “diversity” and awarded points for those who were “non-male or non-Caucasian.”

But change is afoot.

On July 29, the Department of Justice sent a letter to all federal grant recipients reaffirming a core principle of American civil rights law: discrimination is illegal. The nine-page missive, signed by U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi, lists several practices that constitute unlawful discrimination—many of which are common in higher education.

Shortly thereafter, a memo signed by President Trump instructed colleges receiving federal funding to submit admissions data to the Education Department to ensure they comply with the 2023 Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard Supreme Court decision. Colleges are already required to provide specific data about the students they enroll. Now, they must also submit detailed information about those who apply.

The memo declares that “the lack of available admissions data from universities—paired with the rampant use of ‘diversity statements’ and other overt and hidden racial proxies—continues to raise concerns about whether race is actually used in admissions decisions in practice.”

The memo also states, “American students, parents, and taxpayers should have confidence that our nation’s higher education institutions are recruiting and training our next generations with fairness and integrity.”

Will Trump Let Putin Win? by Con Coughlin

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/21871/trump-putin-win

China will be among a collection of hostile states, which also includes Iran and North Korea, that will be taking a close interest in the outcome of the diplomatic initiative Trump began…

Trump himself has given a clear indication that… the White House is prepared to grant Moscow control over some of Ukraine’s most strategic and resource-rich regions.

Such a deal would not only represent a complete betrayal of the Ukrainian people, who have fought heroically to defend their country from Russian aggression. It would completely undermine the credibility of the Western alliance to defend its interests in the face of unprovoked acts of aggression in Europe.

By far the most likely consequence of Trump agreeing to any sell-out over Ukraine would be to encourage China’s Communist rulers to launch their long-anticipated plan to invade the democratic territory of Taiwan, a move that runs the risk of provoking a major conflict in the Indo-Pacific.

If Trump really wants to end the war in Ukraine and achieve lasting peace, then he should consider reviving his threat to impose punitive sanctions against countries that continue trading with Russia, as well as providing Ukraine immediately with offensive weapons, rather than just defensive ones. Every day of delay is simply being used by Putin to kill more Ukrainian civilians and gain more territory.

Such a move would not only end Putin’s ability to fund his “special military operation” in Ukraine. It would send a clear signal to other autocratic regimes like China, as well as terrorist groups, that the Trump administration will confront acts of aggression, and never reward them.

The most vital fact that US President Donald J. Trump needs to take on board is that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no earthly chance of winning his war in Ukraine — unless, that is, Trump gifts the Russian despot a victory.

China will be among a collection of hostile states, which also includes Iran and North Korea, that will be taking a close interest in the outcome of the diplomatic initiative Trump began with Putin following their face-to-face meeting in Alaska earlier this month, to end the Ukraine conflict.
