The Backlash Presidency
For those who can’t understand why Donald Trump was twice elected president, including the Republicans and conservatives who continue to impugn him, we have the answer: Trump is the response to three (yes, three) terms of Barack Obama.
This country has never had a president like Trump. He doesn’t hold back, he can sometimes be crude, he sees no benefit in playing nice with people who want to destroy him (who also happen to overlap with Americans who want to take down their own country a notch or two because, in their perverted thinking, America was never great to begin with).
Love him, like him or hate him, Trump is a transformative president – he was called on to halt the road the Obama-fueled ruling class was taking the country down, to break the walls its members had built to insulate themselves from the consequences of their actions, to prosper financially at others’ expense.
Here is his record so far:
The open border. Joe Biden invited millions of unvetted migrants into this country to swing the electorate to the Democrats, establish a permanent majority, satisfy some perverted obsession with multiculturalism, and antagonize native-born Americans and new citizens who migrated the proper way. A majority of Americans had had enough and turned over border security to Trump.
The administrative state. More than half of Americans had become tired of their votes not counting. The real power and authority in Washington were the unelected bureaucrats who were carrying out the Democratic Party’s agenda. Trump has shown not just a willingness but an appetite for reining in this unaccountable, inflexible force that Democratic administrations built.
DEI. The diversity, equity, and inclusion nags are nothing more than quota peddlers. Americans who have been punished by DEI tenets and offended by its divisiveness elected a man who has made it a point to eliminate this blight on our society that has been nurtured by the left.
Anti-white. “The entire premise of the left’s George Floyd-era argument was, in fact, ‘white people bad,’” Christopher Rufo tweeted. Voters of all races were fed up with whites being smeared for no other reason than their skin color. So they ditched the Obama race-baiters of the Democratic Party and put Trump back in office.
War on men. Western nations have been feminizing males for more than two decades by marginalizing and ridiculing boys, young men, and true adult males. When asked to name a masculine leader in the Democratic Party outside of Barack Obama – who is more effeminate than the left will publicly acknowledge – men from 18 to 29 struggled to identify anyone. A vote for Trump was a vote against the feminization of males.
War on women. Americans are repelled by a radical campaign to pass off men as women, especially when those men are beating and injuring girls and women in sports, violating their privacy in restrooms and locker rooms, and stealing their opportunities. Trump is turning back this wretched foolishness.
Redistricting. Both parties have a history of gerrymandering their representation in the U.S. House. But the most aggressive gerrymandering is done by Democrats, who have fixed it so that eight states have no Republican representation in the House, and in others (Illinois and California) they are virtually shut out. Trump is asking some red states to even the score.
Education. The Education Department has done nothing but spend money that it seized from others and strengthen the anti-student, anti-parent teachers’ unions. It’s sacrosanct among Democrats and progressives, more important than classical, meaning useful, schooling. So Trump, with the backing of his party, is shutting it down.
Deference to terrorists. Trump destroyed Iranian mullahs’ ability to develop nuclear weapons, which should have been done decades ago, and has taken a hard line against Hamas, the darlings of the left.
Media propaganda. The administration has defunded PBS and NPR, both of which used taxpayers’ dollars to promote leftist ideologies while vilifying and muting the opposition.
Lawlessness. The Democratic Party tolerated and then encouraged crime, then said it isn’t really so bad after all, and the American people have grown weary of it. Trump’s response has been to deploy the National Guard in cities where the Democrats have allowed criminals to run wild.
There are other points we could cover here – energy and environment; anti-Americanism and anti-Westernism; racial discrimination and wokeness that have poisoned our universities; the smugness of our elites; intentionally stoked racial tensions – but like our readers, we have only so much time in a day.
We feel we made our point, though. Voting for Donald Trump was the counterrevolution to Barack Obama’s effort to remake America, built on the appalling ideology of radicals Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky, and Jeremiah Wright – not to mention Obama’s Marxist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, who turned Obama into an America-hating, Soviet-adoring teen.
