Lies, Damned Lies, And Leftist Media Lies About An Assassin

Given the national anguish and pain over the assassination of Charlie Kirk, you might think that the leftist big media would at least be treading softly right now, especially given the overwhelming evidence that’s already been made public about Kirk’s alleged assassin. But you would be wrong.

We’ve already addressed the lies and exaggerations told about Kirk to somehow justify his murder. Now the left is trying to come up with a counter-narrative about his assassin. Kirk wasn’t murdered by an unhinged leftist; he was killed by a MAGA adherent. It’s a lie on stilts.

Let’s start with what we know:

Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused assassin, had a deep hatred for Kirk, apparently for his muscular Christian beliefs and his espousal of traditional family values.

We also know that Robinson plotted for a week. Premeditated, cold-blooded.

He inscribed bullets with obscure gamer verbiage and extreme-left shibboleths, like “Hey, fascist, catch!” Sound like a right-winger to you?

His parents, while themselves conservative. told the police that their son had adopted far-left beliefs in the past few years. Would they lie about that?

A relative said the following: “He hates conservatives and Christians,” the relative said. “He hated us. He was not raised that way, but he, over the years, has become really detached (and) been radicalized.”

There are, in fact, no indications whatsoever that Robinson was, as popular leftist substack writer Heather Cox Richardson (hat tip: Dylan on X) falsely described him: “a young white man from a Republican, gun-enthusiast family, who appears to have embraced the far right, disliking Kirk for being insufficiently radical.”

Any evidence of this? Of course not. There is zero evidence. But that didn’t stop her from getting an immediate 7,000 likes for her post.

Nor did it stop TV host Jimmy Kimmel from repeating the obvious lie to his gullible leftist viewers: “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

Oh yes, “the MAGA gang.” They were behind it all.

Kimmel was immediately put on “indefinite” suspension for his insensitive lie. Of course, he tried to gain free speech martyrdom for a lie. He got a little help from his friends. As PJ Media noted, Erin Burnett of CNN’s OutFront asked totally unbiased political source Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to comment.

He predictably called it “outrageous,” and “a page right out of (Chinese leader) Xi’s playbook. This is just despicable, disgusting and against democratic values . . .This is just despicable, disgusting and against democratic values . . . That is not what democracies do. That is what autocracies do.”

For good measure, he “this is what Putin would do.”

Not sure, but we don’t recall either Kimmel or Schumer or, really, any progressive Democrat at all, speaking up when comedian Roseanne Barr, actress Gina Carano, Megyn Kelly, comedian Dave Chapelle, and so many more got fired or “canceled” by groups of leftists.

And maybe Schumer forgets that just a few years back, he was urging Rupert Murdoch to fire Tucker Carlson, because “our democracy depends on it.” He and Kimmel are both hypocrites of the first order.

The truth is, Kimmel got fired for making an offensive, intentionally inflammatory false remark after a politically motivated assassination that even his progressive Hollywood overlords at ABC and parent Disney saw as in such poor taste and so damaging to their company that they might get sued.

And it turns out, Winston Churchill was right when he said, “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to put its pants on.”

Because a new YouGov Poll shows that not only do some people believe this nonsense about Robinson being some kind of right-winger, but a significant number of them do.

According to the poll, overall 21% said Robinson was a Democrat, versus 24% who said he was a Republican. (Another 15% said “neither,” and 40% said “unsure.”)

But it’s in the party breakdown that the results become interesting.

Just 8% of Democrats believe that the leftist Robinson is a fellow Dem, while 41% say he’s a Republican.

Independents turn out to be nearly as gullible, with just 15% saying he’s a likely Democrat and 21% saying he’s a GOP member.

How about Republicans? 40% believe he’s a Democrat, while 13% say he’s a likely Republican.

This shows clearly how perniciously the left-leaning big media and their sympathetic acolytes in the social media have been able to twist reality for their own political purposes, despite overwhelming evidence that Robinson is an extremist.

Do we know for absolutely certain that he has no right-ward affiliations? Of course not. But, once again, the evidence goes the other way.

In court documents filed in Utah, Robinson’s mother said, “Over the last year or so, her son had become more political and had started to lean more to the left, becoming more pro gay and trans-rights oriented.”

Not conservative. Not MAGA. But far left, so far left it’s alleged it drove him to murder Kirk.

People will believe anything, sadly. No one should knowingly spread lies or innuendo on the internet because, frankly, many people have trouble discerning truth from lies.

Suffice to say that the left needs to stop lying about its recent politically motivated violence against conservatives. Leftists and self-described progressives like to talk about “turning down the heat.” Good idea. One way to do that is to stop lying about who Tyler Robinson really is.
