History shows tyrants in Iran, Russia and China only respond to decisive force, not empty talks Sometimes, you need to give war a chance By Clifford D. May

“You don’t make peace with friends. You make it with very unsavory enemies.”

That aphorism, attributed to former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, has always struck me as more hopeful than convincing.

Americans didn’t make peace with the Nazis. We made peace with those we permitted to hold power in Germany after we decisively defeated the Nazis.

Today, there is no conceivable way that Israel can make peace with Hamas, a military wing of the Muslim Brotherhood and a Tehran-backed terrorist organization committed to jihad, the annihilation of Israel and the genocide of Israelis.

Since Hamas’ invasion of Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, its strategy has been Leninist: “The worse, the better,” meaning the more that Gaza Strip residents suffered, the worse it would be for Israel and the better for Hamas.

The terrorists understood the animus toward Israel of United Nations officials, faux human rights organizations, leftists in the media and radical activists on campuses.

Hamas gave Gaza residents a choice: “Conquest or martyrdom!” Those preferring a third option were out of luck.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has long been Hamas’ most important backer.

He sees himself as a revolutionary and a jihadi. He claims to be the “deputy” on earth to Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi, a messianic figure in Shiite Islam.

The ‘humanitarian city’ in Gaza is not a concentration camp Those likening Israel to the Nazis are engaging in a grotesque distortion of reality. Andrew Fox

https://www.spiked-online.com/2025/07/15/the-humanitarian-city-in-gaza-is-not-a-concentration-camp/

The Israeli government has proposed a plan to move Gaza’s civilians to a so-called humanitarian city near Rafah. Critics have outrageously labelled this proposal a ‘concentration camp’.

Comparing Israel’s emergency relocation scheme to the extermination camps of the Second World War is not just wrong, it is also a grotesque distortion of reality. The Holocaust’s concentration camps were death factories, designed to systematically murder or work people to death because of who they were.

In stark contrast, Israel’s new plan aims (however imperfectly) to protect Gaza’s civilians from ongoing fighting, with provisions for food, medical aid and security. Calling this plan a ‘concentration camp’ is not valid criticism. When people draw comparisons between Israel’s actions and Nazi genocide, such as calling these camps another Auschwitz, that is anti-Semitic demonisation.

Of course, those calling this plan a ‘concentration camp’ go beyond the usual suspects who you’d find at an anti-Israel demo. But the loudest voices certainly belong to those with axes to grind. Ehud Olmert, who invoked Holocaust imagery to condemn the proposal, is a disgraced former prime minister of Israel who served prison time for bribery. Yair Lapid, another former PM and now opposition leader, said he would rather not use the term, but if people are forbidden from leaving this camp, ‘then it is a concentration camp’.

Both men are fervent critics of the current Netanyahu government. Their rhetoric clearly aims to serve political goals – to portray the sitting leadership as morally corrupt and to rally international pressure against it. They join the ranks of the highly discredited UNRWA, whose commissioner-general Philippe Lazzarini warned that the relocation plan could create ‘massive concentration camps’ and a ‘second Nakba’ of ethnic cleansing.

All these comparisons go beyond good-faith concern. They are deliberate, politicised, cheap shots equating the Jewish State’s wartime decisions with the genocide that almost destroyed the Jewish people.

How DEI unleashed the monster of anti-Semitism A new report has found that Jew hatred is rife among Britain’s lanyard classes. Brendan O’Neill

https://www.spiked-online.com/2025/07/15/how-dei-unleashed-the-monster-of-anti-semitism/

‘Anti-Semitism is a very light sleeper’, said Conor Cruise O’Brien. Indeed it is, and it has been stirred from its thin slumber these past two years. Since Hamas’s pogrom of 7 October 2023 we have witnessed the violent rebirth of English anti-Semitism. And this is one breed of fanatical prejudice that cannot be libellously pinned on the ‘gammon’, on those lower orders who are so often written off as bigots. No, it is in polite society, among the hoarders of virtue, that the revived Jew hate is most prominent and most vicious.

A new report has found that anti-Semitism has been ‘normalised in middle-class Britain’. Wariness of the Jew is rife in the very institutions of bourgeois society that pride themselves on their anti-racist credentials. At universities, in the arts and in the NHS, the report found, anti-Semitism has become ‘pervasive’. The same lanyard classes that organise training sessions on ‘white privilege’ or ‘heteronormativity’ to enlighten the oiks on their inner bigot have created a climate in which Jews feel ‘marginalised’ and ‘tolerated rather than respected’.

The report was commissioned by the Board of Deputies of British Jews. It was written by Lord John Mann of the Labour Party, who advises the government on anti-Semitism, and Dame Penny Mordaunt of the Conservative Party, who was defence secretary under Theresa May. They describe themselves as ‘two non-Jews from opposite sides of the political spectrum’ who were ‘stunned into silence’ by what they heard from Britain’s Jews. We’re ‘hard-nosed politicians’, they write, but still they were shaken by reports of surging anti-Jewish violence, censorship of Jewish artists and even the belittling of Jewish patients in the NHS.

Their report is a difficult read. It reminds us that Britain suffered a historic spike in Jew-hating crimes in the aftermath of 7 October. No sooner had that neo-fascist militia visited its violence on the Jews of southern Israel than its sick mimickers in the UK were visiting abuse on the Jews of Britain. There was a ‘vertiginous growth in anti-Semitism’, the report says. There were a record 4,103 anti-Semitic incidents in the UK in 2023, most of them occurring after 7 October. The fascistic menace persisted into 2024, when there were 3,528 incidents of Jew hate – the second-highest annual total.

How Trump, Biden’s Arms Shipments Differ: NATO Pays ‘100%’ for Ukraine Trump, once vowing to end the Ukraine war in 24 hours, now arms Kyiv through NATO and threatens Putin. By Philip Wegmann

https://amgreatness.com/2025/07/16/how-trump-bidens-arms-shipments-differ-nato-pays-100-for-ukraine/

Though endlessly critical of his predecessor, President Trump has adopted a Ukraine strategy similar to that of former President Joe Biden: Arm the Ukrainians to the teeth and threaten Russian President Vladimir Putin with even more sanctions if he does not agree to a peace deal.

Some of Trump’s closest domestic allies are already warning that the “expanded American role in the Ukraine War” will be “quite shocking” to the America First voters who returned him to the Oval Office.

But the same president who vowed to end the war in 24 hours has lost patience with Putin after six months. “He’s fooled a lot of people,” Trump said of the Russian leader. “He fooled Clinton, Bush, Obama, Biden. He didn’t fool me.” Seated in the Oval Office next to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, the president offered a glimpse into the negotiation process and his seemingly shifting mood on the war.

“I felt we had a deal about four times,” Trump admitted. “But it just kept going on and on.”

So Trump will sell weapons to NATO to supply Ukraine, and if Russia does not yield in 50 days, Trump promises another 100% tariff on all Russian goods.

Critics accused Trump of dawdling out of hubris before arriving at the right answer for the wrong reasons. “President Trump couldn’t understand the utility of or stakes around arming Ukraine until he felt personally wronged by Putin,” said Ned Price, a spokesman for the State Department during the previous administration. “One helluva learning curve,” a former Biden White House official said of the perception that Trump was moving in a pro-Ukrainian direction, “and an expensive one too.”

A third former Biden official described the new strategy as different but similar to the former president’s Ukraine strategy, just with “a bit of an extra step.” And the twist in question is a big, Trumpian one.

Unlike Biden, the Trump administration will not send military aid directly to Ukraine. Instead, NATO allies will purchase weapons from the U.S. and then funnel them to the front lines, a development that comes in the weeks after those European nations finally agreed to meet Trump’s separate demand that they spend at least 5% of their annual GDP on defense within the next decade.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Update DEI’s medical school infiltration is frightening. By Larry Sand

https://amgreatness.com/2025/07/16/diversity-equity-and-inclusion-update/

According to a recent Speech First report, the nation’s leading medical schools are controlled by Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion fanatics, who inflict beliefs such as “weight inclusivity,” racial justice, and gender ideology on their staff and students through policies, forced statements, and curricular mandates.

Filed in the fall of 2024, “Critical Condition” analyzed public records from FOIA requests from 54 of the country’s top medical schools, and the results are alarming.

For example, the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School offers a “Developing Outstanding Clinical Skills” program that teaches students to embrace “weight inclusivity,” arguing that weight-loss strategies foster a “culture of shame.” Students are also instructed to avoid terms such as “overweight” or “obese.”

In a similar vein, the University of California, Los Angeles medical school offers a “Structural Racism and Health Equity” course that teaches students about “fatphobia,” which describes concerns about weight and body size as a form of discrimination or oppression. (You can almost picture a group of paunchy protesters, fists raised high, angrily shouting “Fat power!”)

The hypocrisy here is obvious. Excess weight or obesity increases the risk of death by anywhere from 22% to 91% and Black adults have the highest obesity rates of any race or ethnicity in the U.S. So, downplaying the effects of obesity could really be considered racist.

Duke Medical School has adopted race-based promotion guidelines that reward doctors for recruiting and mentoring “BIPOC faculty” and “targeting specific groups of people,” language attorneys say appear to violate civil rights law.

Brown University’s Medical School now prioritizes DEI over clinical skills in its promotion criteria for faculty. The standards include “demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion” as a “major criterion” for all positions within the Department of Medicine. Clinical skills, by contrast, only count as a “minor criterion” for many roles.

The Anti-Semitism Crisis – and What Should Be Done The sources of gravity of rising anti-Semitism are easy to see, to anyone with their eyes open. by Steven F. Hayward

https://www.frontpagemag.com/the-anti-semitism-crisis-and-what-should-be-done/

Regarding the crisis of rising anti-Semitism here in America, it is time for some blunt truths to be stated.

• Anti-Semitism is flourishing mainly in the Democratic Party. CNN’s polling director Harry Entin noted earlier this week that Democrats have turned hostile to Israel, and favorable to “Palestinians” by a whopping net shift of 50 percent (larger among younger Democrats) in less than 10 years:

• Where did this come from? I have many times written about the prescience of the late Aaron Wildavsky, one of America’s pre-eminent political scientists from the 1960s until his passing in 1994, who outlined in 1972 how anti-Semitism would be revived chiefly on campus, as an offshoot of metastasizing leftism:

[S]ometime in the mid-1960s blacks replaced Jews as the nation’s number one oppressed minority and—second—that, toward the end of that decade, white radicals succeeded in having Jews removed from the parlance of left critics of society as “minority,” despite the fact that they constituted no more than 3 percent of the population and were still undoubtedly subject to minor forms of discrimination in banking, business, social life, politics, and elsewhere. It took Christians 1,000 years to go from oppressed minority to inquisitorial majority; those clever Jews seem to have done it practically overnight. Let us investigate this strange case further.

Mullahs’ Reign of Terror Iranian tyrants ramp up their torture of the Iranian people. by Bruce Bawer

https://www.frontpagemag.com/mullahs-reign-of-terror/

Iran has always stood apart from the rest of the Muslim world. Far more than the Arab countries that stretch from Marrakech to Muscat, Iran has proudly, even fiercely, protected its pre-Islamic cultural heritage. If other people from Muslim lands have relocated to the West in search of money – often in the form of generous government handouts – Iranians fled the Islamic Revolution in search of freedom. While other Muslims in the West tend to have come from remote villages and to have brought with them some of the most primitive of Islamic social practices, Iranians in the West tend to be urban, freedom-loving, and well-educated (no ethnic group in the U.S. holds more master’s or doctoral degrees per capita), with high levels of integration and intermarriage. If Dearborn has America’s largest Arab population, Minneapolis its greatest concentration of Somalis, and Hamtramck the first Muslim-majority city in the U.S. (with particularly large numbers of Yemenis and Bangladeshis), Iranians tend to be concentrated in posh places like Beverly Hills, which has the highest proportion of Iranians – 20.8% – of any municipality in California.

And while other immigrants from the Muslim world bring with them mosques and madrassas by the score, many Iranian-Americans are not believing Muslims, having been raised as Christians, Jews, Baha’is, or Zoroastrians, or having quit Islam at the same time that they quit the ayatollah’s Iran. In the aftermath of the spectacular Israeli and U.S. assaults on Iranian nuclear targets, it has been remarkable to observe groups of white young Americans waving Iranian flags at protest rallies – shouting fatuous slogans about a religion, a culture, and a part of the world they know virtually nothing about – even as Iranian-Americans cheer the U.S. and Israeli strikes and call for the fall of the odious Tehran regime that transformed a once extremely Westernized country into an Islamic autocracy.

Prior to the U.S. strikes on Iran, as well as in their immediate aftermath, politicians, diplomats, and commentators all over the Western world predicted that this would prove to be just the first volley of World War III – that Iran would be quick to retaliate, perhaps with the help of Russia or China. Instead, the sheer level of devastation, and the assurance by Trump that there was a lot more where that came from, caused the mullahs to react wisely – to do, that is, virtually nothing, and retreat, out of sheer self-protectiveness, from their long position of aggressiveness on the world stage.

Then again, it’s not quite correct to say that the mullahs did virtually nothing. According to various reports, each more alarming than the next, Iran’s leaders have turned inward, doubling down – or more – on their repression in an obvious effort to prevent the popular uprising that many outside observers have predicted and prayed for. What does it mean to intensify repression in an already repressive country? How to describe such an occurrence? In an interview with Fox News Digital (FND), Kasra Aaraby of United against Nuclear Iran said that Iran’s regime “has always been totalitarian, but the level of suppression now is unprecedented,” with authorities introducing a “North Korea-style model of isolation and control.” It’s now common, Aaraby said, for people to “vanish without explanation.” An article put out by the Oslo-based association Iran Human Rights agreed, speaking of prisoners being “transferred to unknown locations,” of suspected spies “at risk of torture or execution,” of a new law that greatly expands the list of offenses subject to the death penalty, and of mass actions against Iranian Jews and Baha’i. Le Monde reported on “the establishment of special courts around the country to try ‘traitors and mercenaries.’”

Trump Can Still Help Ukraine Declare Victory Over Russia by Con Coughlin

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/21755/trump-help-ukraine

Trump’s change of heart on Ukraine is not only welcome, it could prove vital to improving Ukraine’s hopes of ultimately emerging victorious from the conflict, not least because Trump’s recent decision to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities has demonstrated America’s willingness to use its overwhelming military superiority when required.

At the same time, the ease with which US and Israeli warplanes were able to penetrate Iran’s Russian-made air defences has been a humiliating experience for the Kremlin and its claim to rival the US in terms of military capability.

At a time when Russia’s weakness has been graphically exposed on the world stage, there is a golden opportunity for the Trump administration to drive home its advantage.

It can do this by providing Ukraine with the sophisticated weaponry it needs to win the war in Ukraine, in the knowledge that Russian missiles and air defences are simply no match for America’s superior military might.

It would seem advisable for the future of Europe and the Free World to ensure that even a charming Putin – nonetheless a KGB graduate and serial mass-murderer in Grozny, Syria, Ukraine, not to mention his invasions of Georgia and Crimea — is not allowed to emerge from this conflict before being thoroughly defeated.

US President Donald Trump’s belated realisation that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not interested in a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict could finally provide the breakthrough Kyiv desperately needs to win the war.

Since returning to the White House in January, Trump has persisted in his belief that, because of the strong personal relationship he enjoys with Putin, he could persuade the Russian despot to agree to a lasting ceasefire.

‘Squad’ members ‘decide to lie and twist facts’ about Israel’s history, says prominent Arab activist By Amelie Botbol

https://www.foxnews.com/world/squad-members-decide-lie-twist-facts-about-israels-history-says-prominent-arab-activist

CEO of Arab-Jewish coexistence organization challenges Reps Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib’s understanding of Middle East history and rejects apartheid accusations

Members of the “Squad” are undermining coexistence between Arabs and Jews in the Middle East, Israeli-Arab activist Yoseph Haddad told Fox News Digital.

“Representatives of the Squad are trying to harm the coexistence and partnership that exist in the region between Arabs and Jews,” Haddad said. “I think it was [Alexandria] Ocasio-Cortez herself who said she had no idea about the geopolitics of this region—she’s right. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib know exactly what’s going on here, but they decide to lie and twist the facts.”

Haddad, the CEO of Together Vouch for Each Other — an organization founded in 2018 by young Israeli Arabs to bridge cultural and religious divides — has emerged as a prominent voice in Israel’s public diplomacy efforts following Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 massacre.

Since the attack, Jewish communities across the United States and Europe have faced a sharp rise in antisemitic incidents, with pro-Hamas demonstrations appearing on college campuses as early as October 8.

“The first group is what I call the useful idiots — people who have no idea what’s going on but joined because it felt like the cool thing to do,” Haddad said. “Then there are the paid protesters. You see the same faces at different rallies holding different signs — sometimes it’s about LGBTQ issues, sometimes it’s pro-Palestinian, sometimes it’s about internal American problems.”

“It’s always the same person, just a different outfit and a different sign,” he continued. “And the third group — the most dangerous—are the extremists who’ve come from the Middle East. Those are the ones we should be most concerned about.”
