Swimmer Riley Gaines was ambushed, physically assaulted and held hostage for three hours late Thursday by a violent trans-rights mob who disrupted her speech at San Francisco State University about protecting women’s sports.

“I was physically assaulted by one person. I was struck twice, both times hitting my shoulder with the second strike grazing my face,” Gaines told CNN Friday. “The rest of the protestors just ambushed and cornered me before I was able to move out with the help of campus police.”

Gaines is a 12-time All-American champ, and a former competitor of trans swimmer Lia Thomas, a biological male who has taken the sport by storm since he started identifying as a female.

Her appearance at SFSU was booked by a conservative student organization and organized by Turning Point USA. Footage showed Riley being partially drowned out with chants as she was giving her speech. The agitators “rushed in when the event was over,” according to a university Turning Point USA spokesperson.

“Why are you running!” a protester yelped, after Gaines was ambushed. Flanked by university police, she made her way down a hallway.

Another agitator screeched “trans rights are human rights” before jumping in front of her to scream profanities in her face. “Yeah you f—ing transphobic bitch, I f–ing see you!” the unhinged woman bellowed as the distressed guest speaker was hustled away. “The prisoners are running the asylum at SFSU,” Gaines wrote in a video she posted on Twitter. “This is proof that women need sex-protected spaces. Still only further assures me I’m doing something right. When they want you silent, speak louder,” she said.

A video posted by TPUSA College Field Representative for the Bay Area shows the ambush from a different angle.

“You crying! You f—ing crying bitch — f–k you!”  the deranged activist screamed.

“Bye bitch! F–k you,” she bellowed, as others holding “Trans Lives Matter” signs screeched “trans rights are human rights” and “Trans women are women.”

Gaines’ was led to a safe room at 8:30 p.m. where she was barricaded for the next three hours, according to her agent, Eli Bremer.

While Chris Trudell, the Assistant Dean of Students addressed the mob, one of the agitators suggested that they make Gaines pay them as a condition of her safe passage out of the building, a video posted by the student news outlet Golden Gate Xpress, showed.

“The police cannot break Riley free,” Bremer said.  Golden Gate Xpress posted a video showing more than a dozen of San Francisco Police Department cops arriving as backup.

At 11:21 p.m., officers finally announced through a bullhorn that the gathering was an unlawful congregation and those refusing to leave would be arrested.

Riley’s husband, Louis Barker, later told Fox News Digital that he was “shaking” with rage, as he watched the incident unfold.

“I was shaking. It made me that mad. It makes me sick to feel so helpless about it,” the hubby said. “She was under police protection and was still hit by a man wearing a dress.”

Bremer told Fox that Gaines wanted to “share her personal story of competing against a biological male athlete, Lia Thomas, at the Women’s NCAA Swimming Championships last year.”

Instead of a thoughtful discussion tonight at SFSU, Riley was violently accosted, shouted at, physically assaulted, and barricaded in a room by protestors. It is stunning that in America in 2023, it is acceptable for biological male students to violently assault a woman for standing up for women’s rights. This will not stop Riley from boldly educating people of the dangers of biological males in women’s sports.

She will continue to speak the truth against the radical left that no longer understands the difference between men and women.

The university’s police department told The New York Post on Friday that there had been no arrests. “We are conducting an ongoing investigation into the situation,” a spokesperson said.

“The disruption occurred after the conclusion of the event which made it necessary for UPD officers to move the event speaker from the room to a different, safe location.”

“This is an appalling attack on free speech on a college campus,” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said on Twitter. “House Republicans stand with Riley Gaines and her brave and tireless efforts to protect women’s sports.”

“Messed up,” Twitter owner Elon Musk tweeted in reaction to the story.

The ugly and chaotic scene happened the same day White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre rallied “LGBTQI+ kids” to “fight back,” and assured them that the regime has their back.

“LGBTQI+ kids are resilient. They are fierce, they fight back, they’re not going anywhere, and we have their back,” Jean-Pierre told reporters Thursday. “I want to say directly to LGBTQI+ kids: You are loved just as you are.”

The incident also follows an assault on a conservative activist in Canada by trans agitators, several recent mass shootings that were perpetrated by trans assailants, and the arrest of a potential trans mass shooter in Colorado Springs on March 31.
