POPE FRANCIS MISGUIDED ON COMMUNISM- SOME HARD FACTS ABOUT THE “IDEOLOGY OF PEACE”

Pope Francis has run into hot water over some recent remarks about Marxism. Hard-hitting, Conservative U.S. talk show host Rush Limbaugh had accused the Pope of making some comments that went “beyond Catholicism” and were “pure Marxism coming out of the mouth of the Pope”.

Limbaugh remained respectful, suggesting someone else must have been writing His Holiness’s remarks for him.

The Pope responded on Sunday by saying: “Marxist ideology is wrong. But in my life I have known many Marxists who are good people, so I don’t feel offended.”

The Pope is the most generous-hearted and most wonderfully spiritual of men, and would be the first to acknowledge he is a sinner like the rest of us. As for his advisers, they might well be at serious fault for failing to make it quite clear to the Pontiff just how nice these Marxists are.

Taken from this piece on the crimes of communism in the 20th century, here is a list of the deeds of these “good people”, with a short preamble from the text:

“In introducing the Black Book of Communism, lead author Stephane Courtois, Director of Research at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in Paris, offers the following rough breakdown of the numbers of people that communism killed:

USSR — 20 million

China — 65 million

Vietnam — 1 million

North Korea — 2 million

Cambodia — 2 million

Eastern Europe — 1 million

Latin America — 150,000

Africa — 1.7 million

Afghanistan — 1.5 million

Communist movements, parties not in power — 10,000

In total, this is not far short of 100 million deaths at the hands of a single ideology.”

What a delightful group of comrades these killers must have been!

“Good people”? I’d be devastated if anyone called me a Marxist. Let’s hope, with the greatest of respect of course, that the Pope gets some better advisers.
