NURIT GREENGER: AVOIDING THE CZECHOSLOVAKIA SYNDROME

Avoiding the Czechoslovakia syndrome at all cost

Democracies, and that includes Israel, tend to ignore and even deny threats to their existence because they are reluctant, actually unwilling, to do what is necessary to cope with those threats.

In their pursuit of peace and calm, Western democracies believe – even after making countless concessions that have brought them neither peace nor calm – that if they make one more gesture the situation will tone down, even if for only a few years. They simply borrow lost time for a lost case!

Democracies have the tendency to have selective amnesia when it comes to THEIR history. As things are at present, only the West’s failures, crimes and weaknesses deserve to be recorded in the pages of history, while totalitarian , rogue regimes are always about the experience of “reform,” “change” or some sort of a “spring,” and the false belief that peace is always just around the corner. How dumb!

Because of that, many historians in the West deal only with documenting atrocities committed by the West. Their equanimity toward the atrocities committed by Islam creates the impression that the West has simply lost its survival instinct entirely.

One of the mechanisms that made the loss of this survival instinct possible is the “blame industry.” A large system made up of intellectuals, academics and the media, among other factors that fosters one-sided ideas of historical guilt. The West’s culture of self-blame does not allow for putting any responsibility on the other side, even when the abyss opens under its feet wide open. Any active attempt to resist the dangers that Islam places before the free world brings with it intellectual confusion bordering on paralysis.

In the situation Europe finds itself now, all that remains for Europe’s feeble elite to do is what they did 75 years ago – cooperate with the forces that endanger it and sacrifice one democracy on the altar of a fictitious peace – Chamberlain peace in our time agreement with Hitler that was the approval for Hitler to begin a world war.

Do you all now understand why the Muslim, riff-raff, punk jihadists riots in Europe do not wake up the West, rather they are strengthening Europe’s attacks on Israel? Europe has to appease her Moslem foes on the account of Israel!

We all need to call on the Western democracies, primarily the – still – leader of the Free World, the United States, to not repeat the dreadful mistake of 1938 when Europe sacrificed Czechoslovakia for peace in our time that never happened.

We demand of those leaders not to try appease the Moslems/Arabs at the expense of the people.

“Israel will not be Czechoslovakia. Israel will fight terrorism”-PM Ariel Sharon, 6 October, 2001

Tragically, Gaza turned out to be Sharon’s personal Czechoslovakia and “sacrificing” it to the Arabs had the effect he so well predicted. It remains to be seen whether Israelis have finally learned their lesson, or will they repeat their mistake on an even grander scale?

Is it possible to speak openly of the many their sanity is questionable?
