Muslim Hate Groups On Campus by Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, exposes the radical origins and violent objectives of the purportedly mainstream Muslim student organizations that have set up shop on our nation’s campuses.

For those who have not set foot on a college campus in recent years, the casual anti-Semitism and atmosphere of intimidation may seem eerily reminiscent of 1930s Germany. Radical Muslim students and their leftist allies string barbed wire around “checkpoints” where pro-Palestinian activists brandish mock weapons and shout to passing students “Are you Jewish?” and erect “Apartheid Walls” plastered with Hamas posters describing Jews as baby-killers, along with  maps showing the Jewish State erased and replaced with “Palestine.” These actions are justified as episodes of agitprop “theater,” but they have a more serious and deadly intent.

The lead sponsors of these events (dubbed “Israeli Apartheid Weeks” or “Palestine Awareness Weeks”) and the chief instigators of the campus attacks on Jews, Greenfield shows, are members of two student organizations linked to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood network, the Muslim Students Association (MSA) and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). A civil rights lawsuit against the University of California, Berkeley for failing to protect a Jewish student from a violent attack by an SJP activist notes that “the two groups [MSA and SJP] not only co-sponsor events and cooperate on strategic projects, but they even share the same office and campus facilities.” It further charges that “The more publicly activist SJP may be understood as the militant arm of the outwardly benevolent MSA.”

Throughout the school year and across the country, the two groups sponsor extremist speakers who support terrorism against Israel and call for an Islamic jihad against the United States. Two-thirds of Jewish students polled at the University of California believe that such events promote hate and violence against them, and a civil rights complaint filed by Jewish students at the university accuses both organizations of being responsible for campus anti-Semitism.

Meanwhile the university, which reacts fiercely to intolerance directed at every other ethnic group, turns a blind eye when the victims are Jews.

Muslim Hate Groups on Campus sheds light on this dark undercurrent of anti-Semitism which flows unobstructed through our most prestigious institutions of higher education, revealing the Nazi and Marxist origins of these campus hate groups and the connections between these organizations and terrorist activities around the globe. Many former officers of the Muslim Students Association have since graduated to leadership position in Al Qaeda, including Anwar Al-Awlaki, who was MSA president at Colorado State University before he became the leader of external operations for Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, and Ziyad Khaleel, who was MSA president at Columbia College, before he became Al-Qaeda’s procurement agent in the United States.

The MSA has positioned as just another “identity group” in the multicultural community that dominates contemporary campus life, gaining power from this imposture to discourage all students, including dissident Muslim students, from speaking out against it, despite the organization’s history of terrorist affiliations and extremist positions, lest they be accused of “racism” and “Islamophobia.”

Muslim Hate Groups on Campus is essential reading for an understanding of how Islamists have made American higher education a beachhead in their war against Israel, Jews, free speech and American institutions.
