SEPTEMBER 15TH: AMERICANS FOR A SAFE ISRAEL’S JABOTINSKY MEMORIAL IN NEW YORK

AFSI INVITES COMMUNITY TO JABOTINSKY, GAFFNEY, ELDAD EVENT

The community is invited to attend the annual Ze’ev Jabotinsky memorial event, co-sponsored by Americans for a Safe Israel and the Nordau Circle,  on Thursday evening, Sept. 15, 7:30 P.M. at Congregation Ohab Zedek, 118 West 95th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Aves.

Ze’ev Jabotinsky, who died in upstate New York in the summer of 1940, was a prophet, soldier, and statesman. With Herzl, he stands as one of two seminal figures of modern Zionism. He foresaw the destruction of European Jewry and pleaded with his fellow Jews to get out of Europe from the time of Hitler’s rise in1933 to August, 1938. Jabotinsky’s belief in Jewish self defense led to the creation of the World War I ‘Jewish Legion, Betar, and Haganah, the Israel Defense Force. His ideology regarding the homeland of the Jewish people, Palestine, which became the State of Israel in 1948, is the bedrock for those who believe in a whole Israel, with its biblical, legal, and historical entitlements. It is the Jabotinsky ideology which is the driving force for Americans for a Safe Israel.

Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. is the featured speaker of the evening. He is the founder and president of the American Center for Security Policy, columnist at the Washington Times,  blogger at Big Peace,  and radio host on Secure Freedom Radio. He serves on many organization boards dedicated to the security of both Israel and America. The book,  SHARIAH, THE THREAT TO AMERICA, a 2010 publication of the Center for Security Policy, provides chilling evidence of “the preeminent totalitarian threat of our time: the legal-political-military doctrine known within Islam as shariah. “

MK Dr. Arieh Eldad, visiting New York from Israel, will deliver an address relating his and Jabotinsky’s Revisionist Zionist ideology to present events in Israel. Elected to the Israeli Knesset in 2003 as a member of the National Union party, Eldad was chief medical officer of the IDF who served as commander for 25 years and reached the rank of Brigadier General. Eldad supports the right of Jews to live in any part of the Land of Israel and opposes any surrender of Israeli sovereignty to the PLO. On his Zionism, Eldad stated that “I belong to this part of the Jewish people that believes the Land of Israel belongs to the People of Israel.”

In the true Jabotinsky tradition, the evening promises to be exceptionally informative and inspiring, Admission is free to all. AFSI requests that you RSVP so that we can be sure to have ample seating room for the anticipated overflow crowd. Call 212-828-2424 or email: afsi@rcn.com.
